  1. We travel from Indiana to the Fort in January. There is a nice campground called I-24 campground just outside of Nashville. Clean, safe, easy in and out. It is a bit off the interstate but not bad. Last year we had to push through to GA because of a terrible snow storm so make your travel plans flexable. Just south of Atlanta there is another campground in Perry, GA but I can't remember the name. That time of year it can be tricky finding an all seasons campground. I have never stayed at a rest area or Walmart so I can't help you there.
  2. Say what you want, I see a difference. What an awesome start to a day. Hot and sweaty from a good workout, on a tropical island I might add. A quiet breakfast with an amazing view. It all sounds heavenly to me. Now off to be a beach bum with your family, yes sir that's my kind of day.
  3. Dirty theif! I just don't understand that mindset. Back when we had a PUP was when I mastered my master packing skills. I found it quite the challenge to see if I could make it all fit. Packing for that many folks for a week would definitely challenge even the best packer however.
  4. You look fantastic!! Do you know how much weight you have lost?
  5. Due to technical problems I am just now able to post, would have made first page to, oh well. Looks like a very smooth trip so far. I have always wanted to try a cruse but suffer from extreme motion sickness, so it makes me a bit nervous. Love seeing your entire family on this TR. Your wife and girls are so lovely.
  6. So glad the family will be able to put their baby to rest. Just a heart breaking season in Orlando.
  7. Taken from CNN and something to always think about, no matter how much Disney watches / hunts for gators. Jeff Corwin, a noted national animal expert, said he was surprised this happened so close to a highly regulated area but noted there are millions of alligators in Florida. Disney has many thousand acres. An alligator could make its way, undetected through some swamp and marsh into a lagoon near where people congregate. A gator that size would be unlikely to attack an adult, he said, but a child would be more vulnerable.
  8. My husband just woke me up with this news. Oh my stars my heart hurts so bad for the family and especially for the father who tried his best to save his son. We all trust Disney keeps track of the gators on property but I am sure this is an extremely difficult job.
  9. We just visited the Fort this past Jan/Feb. Mornings and evenings can be very cool bUT by afternoon vrry comfortsble. We ate most breakfasts in the camper as it was too chilly for everyone outside. Clothing can be tricky as you basically have to pack for all seasons. The pool is heated and there is a hot tub. We swam just about everyday. The parks were crowded even though it is supposed to be a low crowd time. We had high 70's and a few 80 degree days. The nights were cool with lows in the 50's. Our first night it was 40 degrees. We also have children in your listed age range. The baby was eas
  10. This stinks! So now you are going to waste time waiting for your table to open up. I wonder if they will post wait times lol.
  11. Wasn't weather a major factor on your last trip? If I remember correctly it was on the return home portion. Have fun even rain at Disney can still be magical.

  15. HAPPY BIRTHDAY GIRLS and yay for page 1. I really like your cooler. I would have thought it part of the decor had you not said something. Lilly's ohhhh that will hurt the budget. Can't wait to step in there and shop around a bit.
  16. Noticed today when recommending the Plaza to a friend that it has closed permanently. I just ate there in January, when did this happen?
  17. So BFG... Big Friendly Giant, Big Fat Grandma, Best Friend's Goat. This could be fun.
  18. I agree with TCD. Last trip down we also requested a specific loop or two and to be away from the road due to ltitles. We we didn't get either loop and backed right up to the road.
  19. Good to see Disney keeping Roto Rooter in business lol. They seem to show up in most TR.
