  1. We have a travel trailer. How would I finagle a Wal-Mart, Flying J, Cracker Barrel, etc. overnight? Could I open a few slides, just a tad (no more than a foot), so we could move around a bit? Do you use a generator for anything?
  2. Good article with some interesting insight as to why so many businesses are saying no to overnights. http://roadtreking.com/finding-free-places
  3. What a great time and lasting memories. Don't let your running put a damper on your candy consumption. ;0)
  4. What a blast. I gave always wanted to attend a MNSSHP. We throw around ideas on what we all could go as. With the size of my crew we could just about cover all characters in any movie lol. Great pictures, some disturbing, but great none the less.
  5. I wonder if you posed as an interested buyer what kind of info you could get? Time to do some sleuthing TCD.
  6. So on top of the 20k there would need to be additional remodeling done. I am really curious as to what restrictions are in place for a remodel.
  7. It would be nice to have a first hand account from a fiend on the scene. I'll look forward to a post.
  8. How did I miss this? Oh I see, it was put in the cabin on wheels thread. Oh well it was cool news to me this morning. Feel free to delete this thread.
  9. If it were just me and my husband, I would totally do this as a retirement home.
  10. I ran across this article today. Want to know where the 2100 loop cabins went? Come one come all, only 10 left in stock. http://www.chipandco.com/former-fort-wilderness-cabins-sale-245084/
  11. I am sure the Fort is not the only place locals do this at. I was just thinking the other day how nice it would be to live down there for date nights. Actually as a kid I spent many summers in Florida with my grandparents. We would often drive down to Orlando just to eat at the Polly and take a dip in the pool. They were annual pass holders and spent loads of time at the Resorts and Parks. The time I spent there holds some of the best memories of my life. They paid into the system and I guess felt like it was part of the privilege of living so close to the mouse. Thinking back on these m
  12. I know you can get reservations between 11am and 12pm. All other times are walk ups. Are they handing out buzzers? Are they giving you a time to come back or do you have to stand around for an hour waiting?
  13. So how is this working now? Anyone have an update on the process? How bad have the waits been?
  14. Hoping this tropical depression doesn't dampen your trip. No pun intended. Have a fantastic time!!!
  15. I am so sorry. We have one aging quickly and the thought of saying good by tears my heart out. It's amazing how they sneak into our hearts.
  16. Interesting, but what in the world are they doing with Epcot? I wish they would give us a picture of where they see this park going over the next 10 years.
  17. Sounds like a pretty great day. I have yet to go to the outlet store, I think I will schedule that in for our next trip. Our family really enjoyed Tomorrow Land as well, watchinges it outside with adult beverages, awesome!
  18. I see your point, although, walking door to door in a hotel is different than the Fort, but I guess it wouldn't be any different than if you lived in an apartment building. Other resorts need to get in on the Halloween thing. If each hotel had there own party I wonder if crowds would deminish? Why is the Fort the only "cool" fun resort? Lol I guess we don't need to answer that because we all know campers are awesome. I totally agree that a bigger deal is being made then what needs to be.
  19. If the hoards are paying resort guests, then they are free to enjoy the Fort as much as those strictly staying at the Fort, except the pool of course. Well unless you DVC.
  20. I agree that those people are not strictly registered Fort guests but they might be, and probably are, Disney guests, meaning from other hotels on property. The freeloaders I am talking about are those who are not staying on park property.
  21. I would love to know the amount of people at the Fort on Halloween that are actual Disney guests compared to those who are "freeloaders". My guess is the freeloaders population is very small. There is no way to monitor any of these guest. Think of all the ways into the Fort, boat, bus, walking from the Lodge, etc, to monitor all of this for one night is too much. What I see happening is the Fort shutting the entire thing down, that would be the easiest solution. Sometimes complaints, good or bad, do not have the results we desire.
