  1. Bummer, I was really looking forward to the Jingle Cruise. Hoping a legit photo sharing site comes along because I LOVE the TR.
  2. We came out to the pen that morning and all over the field were chicken parts. It was so sad and disgusting.
  3. Sorry to hear about all the damage and loss. We lost an entire flock of chickens to a few racoons one night. They took out 75 chicks that were ready to start laying. We turned around and just bought more. I agree, it's an addiction. Thanks for the update.
  4. We looked into them and the rates/terms were not very good compared to others, but you may have bought a while back.
  5. We spent a lot of time talking with them and we're very impressed with their rate/terms and professionalism. If we had lived in PA or had a family member already a member we would have definitely gone this route.
  6. Good Sams had terrible reviews but we went with them because of the better rates. Fingers crossed we have a good experience. We originally wanted to use PSECU but we didn't meet their membership terms. The credit unions here in Indiana have had terrible rates. We thought about the home equity route but knew from past experiences it would take at least a month to finalize everything.
  7. I agree with you on the stupid little chairs. With our big crew, the two couches plus dinette will fit everyone nicely. I plan to add a few extra seat belts as well. Just waiting on the financing.
  8. We are in the process of purchasing a used RV from a private seller. I have literally spent all week on the phone with various credit unions, banks and rv loan associations trying to find the best rates and terms. What a complete nightmare this has all been. Our credit is excellent and we have a good down payment. The problem is the rates and terms being offered. They have been all over the board from 12.9% down to 4.99%. From 60 months out to 180 months. Some places require 10% down others require nothing. The credit unions require memberships but with various stipulations. I know understand
  9. Wow the Fort looks like it took a beating. Definitely gonna take a bit to clean that mess up.
  10. The rig is in Julian, PA. It's a very small town north of State College. We have spoken with the seller numerous times now and he seems very upfront and willing to answer all our questuons. He just bought the rig in June from a dealer where it was inspected and maintenanced. They are relocating and don't want the worry of what to do with the camper. There is a part of me that is apprehensive as we have had numerous scam attempts and dishonst buyer/seller encounters. We are going to Skype a walk through and then if all still seems good drive the 9 hours to look at it with the intent to buy. Tha
  11. I was nervous as I had read that 35' was the critical #. Good to know you guys haven't had any issues. The over hang on the rug is pretty decent, so as long as we aren't backing up to a tree we should fit.
  12. Okay no big deal then. We already have to turn the air conditioning off when running the microwave.
  13. 9Also how do you 50amp folks handle only 30amp plugs? Any boone dockers out there want to share some advice?

  15. We have decided to go with an older rig. Sure it's not as nice as the new ones, but the price tag is over half that of a newer rig. We still aren't sure we are going to love Class A living so the cheaper price tag makes it an easier pill to swallow. My thoughts were that if we really enjoyed it, we would rent out the used rig and buy a newer model in a few years. We plan to buy from a private seller in PA. We have talked to the guy and are scheduled to Skype a walk through tonight. We have researched all the appropriate questions to ask and seem satisfied with his answers. Any advice fr
  16. I have been following a guys youtube channel recently, Big truck Big RV. He has really done his research and has loads of information on tires and rig and tow suze, trucks etc. I highly recommend checking his channel out. If your rims are 15", so most bummer pulls, he suggested a Goodyear cargo g26 tire 225 / 70R15c. I know the topic us about Nitrogen fills but wanted to put this out there for anyone interested.
  17. In Remington, IN, north of Lafayette, there is another campground called caboose lake. It does not have pull through sites but is very close to the interstate. Don't be tempted by the Thortown campgrounds, NOT easy to get to and full of very friendly locals but not a place for a quick overnight.
  18. North of Indianapolis would be prophetstown state park. It is just North of Lafayette, IN and has pull throughs. It's not a quick easy on easy off but not bad either. Lebanon, IN has a Walmart that always allows campers to stop over for the night and it is a very safe location. There are numerous truck stops in Lebanon as well.
  19. Oh man does this TR bring back memories of our epic trip down to the Fort with our blue van spilling transmission fluid everywhere.
  20. Good point, we definitely have wiggly kids. Jacks will be going down.
  21. With quick overnights, do you all put your jacks down for the night?
