Thanks everyone!  I'm most happy about being able to provide content to this forum that I get so much enjoyment reading.
I'm not always in the know about current Disney events, and not one to post just to put in my 2 cents, so I take it as a compliment that you all value my updates.
Can't wait to try this thing out with its maiden repaired voyage being the Fort.

Ok.......thanks all for sticking with this thread since the beginning. I'd say I'm 95 percent complete and only have some minor issues to take care of.....that and to get some wax on this thing. I got 4 new Goodyears installed and took care of the bearings and seals over the last few days. Last thing is to check the plumbing and hot water tank but I'm confident they will work fine.

    See you at the Fort!!

The Goodyears came yesterday.   First impression is a good one, date codes of 42nd and 43rd week of 2017.  The sidewalls seem to be much thicker than the China tires I've had in the past.  I'll let you know when I get them mounted up.

Got the roof on! In a windstorm! Took me about 5 hours the other day....it hit 74 here with sun, after that day, rain forecasted for the next 5 days so I had to do it.
Took everything I had not to cry when I put down the glue and rolled out the rubber and then 20mph wind gusts started out of nowhere. I was actually laying on the rubber to hold it down! What a comedy show.....anyway I only put the new roof on a little over half of the rig. I figured I'd just get it on the road for now, and the roof is only 2 years old anyway.

Here's some pics of how it turned out.

Next order is to fix some of the cabinet doors that got damaged.

Will do.  I had the new carlisle HD tires in my walmart cart about 5 times...they seem like a better built tire, but still made in China.   I'm giving the USA a chance here, I'd rather spend my money with American workers.
I do have carlisle radial tires on my car trailer, and I think they are 9 years old.  They have never given me any trouble but on a car hauler they run loaded only about 50 percent of the time and when it's parked only weighs about a ton.  I think the weight of an rv constantly sitting on the tires is what ultimately kills them.  Most if these tires are within 90 percent of thier loaded capacity ALL of the time...like Dangerfield, "they get no respect"!

Just an FYI, I just ordered 4 Goodyear Endurance from Discount tire direct.  they are having a pretty big promotion on them, AND a 100 rebate visa card.  I got 4 235/80/16 Endurance, shipped free for $500.64 with the rebate, $400.64.  Amazing price....must be bought this weekend, 2/19/18.

Finally got a chance to pull the tarp off! I'm not joking when I say that it nas been a solid month of precipitation or well sub freezing temps. Even at that, I only had about 5 hours before a 2.5 inch snowfall was expected (and came).

I got a chance to see what really happened to this thing. I can definitely say they hit a low underpass as the tv antenna was pushed back in a straight line about 2 feet. I took all of the vents off and took inventory for wood. I bought 4 sheets of OSB last night and hope to get it changed out today.

When the snow started, I went inside and made 6 valances to replace the missing ones. We bought batting and some vinyl that matches the couch and I went to town.

I hope to get this thing buttoned up this week, then get the new tires put on and begin to test all of the plumbing and such. I'm really looking forward to the final clean up and to give it a much needed bath.

    More to come.....

I vote for a joint theater for Morocco and Germany.  They could stage the all new off-Broadway show "Belly Dancing in Dirndls".  It's a celebration of world piece.

PGHFiend reacted to caveat lector in We're practically empty nesters, why not buy a new 5th wheel
It's been almost 10 years since I dipped my toe in the rv pool. This time I went big and hope an I don't live to regret it.  I've heard / read that a 5th wheel is easier to pull than my old bunkhouse TT.  Well, I now have 42 feet of possible proof of concept.  Based on internet postings, I've either bought the best,  worst, or somewhere in between brand.  Forest river seems to have more fans than critics, but I believe it's subjective.
It's shakedown cruise will be a Fort trip in less than two months (thanks Jason).

It's flat, mildly rolling and pretty to look at. Its the first time I learned about what they call "post rock country", and it's not what you think.  I drove a 45 foot MH with a toad there for a side gig and flew home.  On the way I passed so many cool things.
I want to actually go back on my own time and visit on purpose.

Just got internet back on, got gen set running, it quit yesterday, we had to replace head gasket. Lost about 1/3 to 1/2 orange crop, but we are all safe and well. Some clean up to do, had to cut the trees so we could get barn open, but they did not hit the building . All in all everything is well and we are rebounding back to normal if they would just get the electricity on. We have all gas appliances so no problem with cooking and if I can eat ever thing else is just an irritation.

Every time we go to DS or former DTD, we just feel like it's a money grab.  The constant advertising to get you there makes you feel there is more to do than just spend more money. It's definitely not on our radar as part of a complete trip. This is just another example of the grab.

Not sure if I mentioned that we went to the character outlet during our spring trip. Nothing I needed, but I saw a stack of those foam garden kneeling cushions with a disney print for 3 bucks each, so I picked one up to keep in the camper for repairs.  Next night at the emporium on main street, saw the same "Parade Cushions" for sale for 19.99 each!
    Amazing markup at the MK.

PGHFiend got a reaction from Avatab.... Steve in Refrigerator repair
I've had problems with every RV fridge I've owned as the newest I've owned was 8 years old.  Tapping the coils up as high as you can with the handle of a hammer can help as you've already tried.  Simple things to check after ensuring that you don't see any yellow or green staining on the coils that would indicate a career ending leak, AND, be sure that the thermal reset did not pop (its on the burner flu under the cover , and is a small reset button.  My current fridge has this issue, not due to overheating, but the button has gotten weak) Many of these buttons were installed during a major recall for fire issues, and are overly sensitive.
    1. There is a thermistor in the fridge clipped to the right most fin...be sure it is all the way up on the right most fin for max cooling.
2.Check to see if there is an obstruction that would prevent the hot air from rising up through the roof, so check the roof vent and if you can shine a light above the reefer to see if something built a nest.
    3. Run a fan on the back of the unit by any means possible.  Hang a small fan or put a table on the outside and get some air flowing up through the coils.
    4.  If you can, as a last ditch, disconnect the propane line, unplug, unscrew and get the rv fridge on the floor of your camper and roll it over end over end a few times.  This will help the ammonia wash away some crystals that have formed, and will work as a temp fix. (I have done this before and it absolutely worked for me)
    5. Order this   http://www.snip-the-tip.com/cgi-bin/articca.cgi      and have it overnight shipped to the fort, this may also get you by.  I have installed these on 3 RV Fridges I've had and it does help a tremendous amount.
Good luck, I know how bad this sucks and makes camping even more a PITA than it already is.

Just get the combo unit and have the install done at the dealer. In my experience by the time you go and buy all the stuff to get around getting what you really want, what you end up really wanting is the thing you wanted in the first place, and then buy it on top of the junk things that didn't work. On top of that, if you change trailers again, you take it out and put it in the new one.
Tell them you'll pay retail for the unit. if they'll put the the vent in for free.
