bdm got a reaction from BradyBzLyn...Mo in New Disney Lego set?
This is 100% rumor, it comes from someone that I know that works for lego in their department that creates the architecture sets.  But, they told me in conversation that they have heard rumor of a lego model of the Haunted Mansion, and he feels with the success of the Cinderella castle set this could also be put into production.

IF this is true, I need to start saving my extra change to save up to buy one.

I know they had this in the lego idea website for a while

Its nice that they would comp a day, but comping a day doesn't return the lost family time that one comes to expect from Disney.
Calling the cops wouldn't help.  You call the cops and the cops call Disney and still nothing happens.  If I was at the fort and issues like this went on for a whole weekend or longer I'd document it, photo, video and such while notifying security and document their reprocess and then turn everything over to the media.  A little bad press and Disney would quickly fix the issue.
Right now its a in house problem, no one outside the direct fort and this board are aware of the issues.  A 30sec story with a big YouTube news outlet, or even mainstream media and suddenly its priority #1 to get it resolved.  Remember how fast the fencing went up around the lakes?

Each spring we like to take an early trip to a local campground to get things cleaned up and ready for camping season.

The lake isn't that bug but did have several fish in it.  None that wanted to be caught by me though.

    Little man loves camping.

    He enjoys his Chillaxing time.

During camper washing, he informed me that he needed a Car wash for him tractor.. did the best i could with what I had.

Two night stay, cleaned up the outside of the camper, cleaned up the inside and no evidence of winter guests in the camper.  Now its all ready for the summer camping season.

First off, let me say that it is good to find a community of people who share, and likely exceed, my enthusiasm for FW.
I have a question related to the history of the place: when did the Wilderness Homes become available for rental? Specifically, what year?
My mother says that we stayed in them as early as 1984. This would make sense, as my family stopped bringing our camper to FW in 1982, and we did stay there in the springs of '84 and '85. In 1986, we stayed in the 2600 loop, and that was the first time I remember staying in a Wilderness Home. If memory serves me correctly, the Fleetwood Pass area was not there prior to that time.
So, can anyone help shed some light on this situation? Not a terribly important question, but I appreciate any information from the Fiends to help fill this apparent gap in my memory.

absolutely true. Some resorts may still give the paper pass for your windshield. Others will sjust have you use your magic band.

bdm got a reaction from jriae2000 in Camp like the 2 percent
The "value" of an RV isn't the saving on the lodging.   Its the savings on food, lodging, entertainment, and such.  You cant justify it by saying I'll save money.  My family justify it by saying we are building lasting memories with our family.
We spend 40-60 nights a year in our camper.  For a family of three its going to be about $400 a day for room, and food.  If we did that 50 nights a year we would be spending $20,000 a year.  We could pay for our camper in 3 years...

I have a good friend who has PTSD and he has a small service dog that help his cope.  I don't get it, but it helps him and if it helps him I support it 100%.

I also have an in-law that is blind and has a service dog that's amazing.

500 loop has plenty of room. Some of the inside sites are a little smaller but not bad and well spaced apart. This was our preferred loop for awhile though our last few trips we preferred 900.

You may have a harder time with them getting one of the 2 cabins in the 100 loop. I know TCD got one one time, maybe he'll be along with some tips or tricks for getting it. We requested one when our friends stayed one time but could not get one and from the looks of it those cabins sat empty during their stay.

Both are good loops. I would want an outside site. On the 400 the sites toward the end of the loop get a little tight compared to some of the others.

I can't speak for the 500 loop, but I don't think you'll have that issue in 400.  We have opposing slide and had plenty of room in the 400.

Considering the number and size of the packages being shipped to them that need to be sorted, stored, and retrieved a small fee to cover the work being done doesnt really seem unreasonable to me.

bdm got a reaction from Xanne in Favorite theme park diaper bag / stroller organizer?
Last time at Disney my son was 14 months old. We use a very small messenger style bag (not a diaper bag) it held a change of cloths, a few diapers, snacks and the all important Binky.
It was really easy to carry and wasn't in the way at all.  For a stroller we used our Bob stroller.
Our every day diaper bag is a backpack style that is made by Columbia and i really like it too.

For me the most important thing is not to over pack for a day in the park.  Most 2 year olds cant do 8 or 10 hours so plan for 4 or 6 hours of need because at some point they are going to crash and need downtime.

bdm got a reaction from parrothead7368 aka Norm in Driving the mountains... grade question.
We tow a 12,000lbs fifth through Tenn all the time.  Our 2012 Ram with a diesel will slow our truck and trailer down to about 45mph on the steepest hills along I-75 and I-40 with no break input.
Going I-40 from Ten to NC that is some of the twistiest-est highway and steep i've ever driven.  Twice i got the feeling of tail wagging the dog, and just gave a little manual trailer break to help keep everything aligned.
I think you'll find that with the engine break, and the trucks controle of the gears will keep you at a very safe and reasonable speed.  Like it was mentioned before, follow the big rigs and make sure to give them some room.  There's not need to overtake going up or down a mountain, the extra 2 or 3 minutes arnt worth the effort.
