Would they let someone use it for kids?  That would eliminate the issue of having to do ride swaps.

Despite it snowing all afternoon/evening ,it was so fluffy it only added up to about 3" . We took the storm as an opportunity to restaurant hop in downtown Nashua. Plenty of parking and no lines no waiting. :)

We have stayed in 2000 twice.  First time was absolutely the pits.
Huge groups of people on multiple sites.
Unsupervised kids playing in and around the CS all day and well into the night (our site was right next to the closest sidewalk
Golf carts and kids speeding around the loop in both directions on bikes, scooters, skateboards..
    Loud people until 2 AM.
I complained to a Front Desk supervisor/manager and got comped a night for a future visit.
Maybe if enough people started complaining and hitting them in their bottom line they would start taking the complaints seriously.
I have gotten comped two times so far, once for this debacle, and another time my site flooded 2 days in a row and soaked everything in the tent.
It's a little different if you're paying $15-$25 a night and not having a good experience, but at the premium prices the Fort charges I expect to have a premium experience and to be treated/listened to as much as if I was staying in a resort.

    I love happy endings!
Joan is so beautiful and only 8-9 months old.  What a dog she will be!
I'm glad your trainer is working out well for you.

Some people will call this a co-incidence but I think it is a God-incidence.

I feel bad for our southern friends.  At least up here, most know how to deal with it.  Seven degrees here now, but sunny. Best piece of advice I can offer is, stay off the roads until the snow/ice is gone.  If you do need to go out, take a blanket, food (like pop tarts), and something to drink if case you get caught up in a traffic problem.  Good Luck.

I'm really happy with the way this story is turning out, and I think it's great that this dog has a lovely new home with a good job to keep her occupied.   ETA:  -  your first training session looks super!   I am really enjoying reading all of this, and I hope my comment below won't stop you from sharing.   I promise I'm just trying to be helpful to the community at large, when thinking about bringing dogs to the fort.
However, I do want to comment on the issue of separation anxiety in this dog.
The reason the dog acted out at the Fort,  was not because she thought she was alpha of her family  No 8 month old puppy challenges for alpha spot in a pack.   The reason this pup ate the camper, was because she was 8 months old, in a new place with new sounds and smells, and her family had all left.  To a dog, this means abandonment.   She ate the trailer because she wanted out, and wanted to be with her family in this scary new place.   This could happen to anyone traveling with a puppy when camping out.   Until the puppy has some experience of camping and moving around from place to place,  it's very nerve wracking for them.
She also could be in the middle of one of the 'fear stages' of growing up.    Please ask your trainer about fear stages.  In GSD's, they are significant.   If you are not being encouraged to take your dog out into public places to practice your training around other humans and animals, please start doing this, under your trainer's direction.
If you are wondering about my credentials, I have been training dog classes for basic obedience, manners and obedience competition since 1984.   I'm a certified Canine Good Citizen and Star Puppy evaluator, as well.

Joan and the rest of our family send lots of love to yours. None of this would have possible with you two.

This evening, one of our cats came in. We used the "leave it" command. It took her hearing it three times before she would quit looking at the cat (which is a requirement) so I know it wasn't one that was easy for her. Even so, after the command was given the third time, she turned around and went about her business. Then she got a bacon treat.

The cats were not around while trainer was here so I anticipated much more trouble with then showed up. Joan chases them and barks at them. This evening we were able to get her to look away and mind her puppy dog business twice, when dealing with the cats.

I'm as proud of this beautiful girl as if i had given birth to her myself. I'm bragging about her all over the internet. She'll be famous before it's all said and done.

Thank you, Andy & Carol, for giving us this opportunity add this new member to our family. We are all on cloud 9.

    Sending much love,
    The Wade family.

if you guys decided this is not the time for you.  Could you forward the info for the therapy dog group.  We would donate the dog to the group if they would train her and give her to a person in need

    Andrew Roberts,

We have discussed it as a family and we will give your girl a good home. We have no problem with having a dog with separation anxiety. The dog we rescued from a ditch had severe separation anxiety, although he is getting better. Three members of our family are almost always home. We thought he had been hit by a car, but he actually had tick paralysis and is healthy now, just a tad emotional. This is what put us behind in getting a service dog. He needed lots of time an attention, but he is now a strong secure dog. Can't be alone though, which is not a problem with our family.

Because we live on a rural property, with our daughter & family in another home here, we have a good set up for dogs with separation anxiety. And, for the past six months, plenty of experience with one.

The organization that will train is called Guardian Angels. http://www.medicalservicedogs.org/  Our son has already been approved and the best age to start training is 1 year old. This may be meant to be. What is her name? She will make a great service dog because she will be by his side 24/7. We considered training Blaze (found dog) but he is a few years old, not the optimal age to start.

I can give you excellent vet references, and you are welcome to come meet us and see our home and property, and meet our other dogs if you like. We live in Lake City that is right off Interstate 75, if you go home that direction. We do live a good 20 minutes or so outside out town, but let me know what you want to do. If not, we can meet you somewhere to pick her up. I will also be glad to stay in touch with you with photos and updates.

If you can possibly get her to a breed rescue instead of a shelter, please do.  Dogs with SA can have a really hard time getting adopted out of shelters and if they're also very smart and energetic, can also decline really quickly in a shelter environment (making them even harder to adopt out). Looks like there are a couple of rescue groups not far from WDW...

Another thought if you just need to survive the rest of your stay at the Fort and decide what to do when you get home - kennel her at Best Friends when you're going out.  The SA might not be as bad there with people around, and even if it is, she won't be tearing up your RV.

Reminds me to pop my vaca time on the calendar at work.  Up side to contracting, don't have to get it approved.  (down side - don't get paid LOL)
I never got around to making rum balls for Christmas this year, but I did buy all the stuff so...
6 weeks sounds like the appropriate amount of time for them to "marinate"

That's too bad, there are a lot of scummy people out there.
But they could go to Dollar Tree and replace them for a buck a piece.  It's part of doing business and good customer service.
I'm sure they have a lot more expensive items in the other resorts get stolen or broken that get replaced immediately.
Them dirty, stinky campers don't deserve to have nice things!

Hm... Dave does make some good points.  But I think this was a great TR for your first complete one.  I am hoping that this is a good sign for the upcoming trip.  I know that this level of pictures of pictures and details for a three week trip is expecting a bit much from you, but I am looking forward to seeing what you do produce, especially as you will be hurrying to finish it before WWW 2017!

We were in the 300 loop last month.  We requested a site near the comfort station, and the site we were given was not far from the CS, however the trail to get there was through the woods and swampy water, covered with tree shavings.  While this was OK for us, it probably would not work well for a motorized scooter.  Make sure that the cast member who assigns your site at check in understands that you need to be near a PAVED path to the comfort station.  Have a great trip.

People who just don't "get it" often ask me what I love about WDW.  I tell them that as soon as I drive onto the property, I feel like I am five years old again.  (And yet, through the magic of Disney, old enough to drink!)

This is the very reason I chose to have the GG potluck on Saturday and not anywhere near Halloween night.  I will most likely do this again, especially because Halloween will be during the week in 2017 and more people will be able to attend on the weekend and there will be less resistance from the Disney Popo.

OK so reading here made me think...wonder if I can take those 2100 loop pics Jen is looking for.  Would be a great time to do that, no RVs in the fort!  But nope.  The guard at the gate said 'can't go in, no one allowed today'  So I ask, 'when will campers be allowed back in', he says 'tomorrow', Sunday, 'what time' I say, he says '8AM'.  Whether that holds true is anyone's guess.
The overflow lot is almost empty, a few cars near the check-in building, probably cast.  The main part had 2 RVs and a work trailer.
Took a look at the riding horses.  They have an open on the sides covered shelter in their pasture.  A bunch of them were out chomping some of the green grass.  I think there is also a closed barn but not too sure.
Driving past some of the other resorts I could see RVs in the parking lots, one even had a slide out.
