Why is it that when you get home from a vacation, things always seem to get out of hand and there is never enough time to relax and reflect on the good time that you just had? As usual when we got home this was the case. Between kids activities, our work schedule, family obligations, and getting ready for the holidays, I now have a chance to attempt a trip report. We laughed last year when in New Years Eve we stopped at Daytona Beach and we were swimming in the ocean when it was only in the 70's. Life guard told us we were nuts as he stood all bundled up in a heavy winter coat and sweat pants.

Frances Slocum is 10 minutes from me and is beautiful campground. It probably is the closest to Steamtown NP of all the state campgrounds in the area. There are a couple of private CGs that are local that our pack uses for the week end outings. Also you have 2 boyscout camps very close to Scranton. One being Goose Pond about 1/2 hour east of Scranton and Achela about 1/2 hour southeast. They are run by the Northeast PA council. Give the council a call and maybe they could help you. DW and I went on a Carnival Cruise last summer for our 15th anniversary and had a blast. We are trying Royal Caribbean the week after Thanksgiving with the whole family. I would definately talk with a travel agent who can help point you in the right direction and find the cruise with the perfect fit of what you are looking for. We used Roz from the fiends.
