  1. March 30, 2013 THE DAY BEFORE EASTER This was our Lou... day! In more ways than one. First of all, we slept in because we are on vacation and Lou... extoils the virtues of actually relaxing on your vacation. Who am I kidding? That's too positive. Lou... has given me a snarky hard time for dragging my kids out of bed and following my spreadsheet and "ruining' their vacation. So we didn't get up at the crack of dawn. We woke up naturally. We leisurely got dressed and ate breakfast. We played a game. We watched some tv. We drank coffee. And we couldn't take being on a relaxing do
  2. We never make a Trail's End ADR from home, but once we are there it is often our "go-to" last minute restaurant, unless of course our GAG "blossoms" to a HDDR. The food is good and the service it too! From what I could tell the baby boats were trying to jump each other's and the boat's wake. It was a large group obviously together. I wonder if this is the same group of well-bodied teenage boys that make an appearance on Easter afternoon in this same trip report, now that I am typing this out and putting 2 and 2 together. First of all, we all knew you'd be doing the Monster Event so y
  3. Love the rock and the faint soundtrack. Sounds ideal! I can't imagine those twins not getting homesick for the fort.
  4. Shouldn't we give Coach a half point for being awful snarky on his 10th post on the board?
  5. Where is that darn Troll? My kids are actually playing checkers with each other. They are not stacking the checkers or asking some old man to play with them. We love the checkers and find them vital to our Fort experience. Not to take the winds our of your troll ranting sails. Now the boys on the other hand are loving the hula hoops and horseshoes. Looks empty doesn't it. Not when you look this way. We ate at the Trail's End. We had a 7:55 ADR. Here's a grown up plate. Oh yeah that's a yummy plate of food. A kid's plate. Something sweet to finish the meal.
  6. Well here we are. The BuckeyeFortKids begged me to take them to the beach to play. No need to worry, I brought all 4 of them with me. The kids played and I enjoyed some boat watching while I lounged in the sun. There were a lot of baby boats on the water. I don't know what you call them. I call them baby boats. My trip report. Where is harbor patrol headed? The baby boats are getting in trouble.... This is fun to watch. That didn't last long. Here they all come back in. My kids are loving the beach. Eventually nature calls and so ends our beach
  7. Perfect, then drinks are on me at Crockett's the next trip we both end up at the Fort at the same time. The fiends beat me to it. I will add that Big Bear is the large loop with the majority of sites on it. Little Bear has just a few sites and you can see the entire loop at from your site. I love the smallness of it. Like I said they beat me to it! I have been slacking for sure. I really shouldn't let other things get in the way of the trip report! How can anything be bad with both plain and peanut M&M's.
  8. Not me! I can't wait to drink my Starbucks venti latte while walking down Main Street!
  9. It's been a few years. Well, in all honesty my oldest is 10 and this was before kids for us, but... just for future reference if you are ever in need a nice lounge on the Boardwalk again. There was a great lounge in the Boardwalk Resort that had said plush easy chairs and some major elbow room. My husband attended a conference and I spent hours relaxing in that lounge because the ambiance was great. They played the old time radio dramas and and was just plain relaxing and comfortable. I haven't been back since because dragging my kids into that den of relaxation would be something t
  10. Although I have no clue what Fa-Tang means, I guess I have to do what the in crowd is doing. Fa-Tang
  11. On our way back from the marina we looped by 1444 to see if the GaDawg blow up was out and he was. We also met GaDawgFan's husband who is a total sweetheart. He was setting up camp while his wife, child and father in law were off having fun. (He can pay me later for that wonderful comment.) But seriously we laughed a bunch but had to let him actually get set up since they had just moved in. So we headed back home and by 2:30 we are back playing at the campsite. Wait what are this kids snacking on. They call it their Easter snack mix and they made it themselves. Animal crackers
  12. You have a full out cameo appearance in this trip report. Just wait... It was and the next update will really sell the relaxation mood. If I can get to it between loads of laundry.
  13. After the laugh floor we humored BuckeyeFortMini4 and road the TTA. We walked into the Philharmagic 10:20 show and then went to the Rapunzel bathrooms on our way to lunch. The girls snapped some pictures of Rapunzel's painting. Inside the bathroom. Now it's off to Columbia Harbor House for lunch. I like the tables at this place and the kids like the fish and chicken so it's a win/win. Why does the table matter, you might ask. Well, I am a mom of many young children. So I prefer big wide benches or big chairs with lots of table space so that my children don't end up kn
  14. Oh yes, that was on the list, but I was waiting until I met this famous fiend face to face.
  15. March 29, 2013 cont. After meeting characters at Storybook Circus BuckeyeFortMini2 caught the bug. She wanted to meet her fairies next and it opens at 8:15. We can not convince anyone else to do that with us so BuckeyeFortFan and the other 3 BuckeyeFortMinis head off to play portals while we get in line to meet fairies. The wait for this attraction really begs for some upgrading. Especially this "feature" where they shrink you down to fairy size. You step over a blue tile line on the floor which they call the Blueberry line and step through this leaf portal that has pixie dust
  16. Sorry for the delay in trip report updates- Work- which pays for Disney. Yada yada yada. Totally!!! Daisy's photopass photographer was quite vocal that all the photographers were supposed to be there at that time. Thanks for the invite to knock. We are late afternoon and early evening loopers. It's our way to unwind after a rope drop day. I only had chocolate to offer the grumpy Lou... it was too late in the trip by the time we met him for pie to still be around. I agree. Daisy read both the girls palms and Minnie pointed out her puppies to us although I am not sure what
  17. We decorate that early when we go then. We have not been disappointed that there weren't enough decorations early in the month. The big displays are at least partially up by then and I think anyone who would decorate does anytime in October. The Halloween decorations hit the store by labor day anymore
  18. Every time we looped we drove by trying to catch him outside because we had the same thought.
  19. Friday March 29, 2013 7am opening at the MK, so that means oatmeal at 5:45. The oatmeal is portable, so we can be on the dock at 6:10 because that first boat comes around 6:15. Now our normal couple minute wait is turning into a LOOOOONG wait. BuckeyeFortKid2 perched on her father's foot to wait it out. It's 6:30 and this sign is taunting us. FINALLY!!!! This boat is 15 minutes later than normal! We've seen it be early but never late. And when we pull up to the Magic Kingdom, the Lodge boat is pulling away! #*%!!!! The line for the bag check is back to
  20. So sorry fellow fiends that I have let my work supercede my trip reporting but I will get right back to it. First some housekeeping of sorts. This sounds right as I would not mind any fiend knocking on my door or helping themselves to something in my cooler. Or M&M's out of my candy bowl. Darn, we need to buck up it sounds. Easier said then done.
  21. You will love it. It's dark at times especially in the begining. It's not girly at all. The twists and turns are awesome.
  22. I really wish they would have found it more interesting and paid attention a little more. They see draft horses and hitch wagons all the time so that was no big deal to them. They were polite and well mannered despite being bored. The 3 yr old fell asleep in my arms in the carriage garage and you can see him sleeping on his father's shoulder in the calliope shots. The big kids enjoyed seeing the calliope and meeting Angus was like meeting a character to them. The next update, if I can get to it. Is interesting to say the least. We had a weird MK experience 'tomorrow' morning.
  23. Fun read so far. Sad to hear your injury is holding you back. Hope it heals shortly and gets you back in the driver's seat quickly! A family held from camping, for any reason, is a sad family.
  24. I am so ready for your arrival tomorrow, the beginning of Easter weekend. So glad you enjoyed the TCD Ranch stuff! I try to take pictures of everything I need to remember even if I don't use them later, for example if I need to remember a time I take a picture of my phone or my watch. I delete the info only pics after I put the update on. I love digital cameras! Unless of course it is the digital camera that dies halfway through your trip and leaves you using your 8yr old daughter's crummy camera the rest of the trip, but I digress.
