  1. Here's where we left off. Crown and coke and strawberry diaquari. Happy kids on the playground and happier parents in the rocking chairs. We looped a bit, walked swamp trail, and played on the dog walk playground. Then headed back to get this going. The kids got out the chalk while they waited for dinner. Now that we have had dinner, it's time to do some more looping. When we loop we look for these. Don't be silly, not flags! We look for other Open Ranges. Our kids also look for decorations. The poor things. We normally come at Halloween and we did Christmas this pa
  2. Thanks John! I was so excited to share it but was hoping that at least someone else would enjoy it. Thanks! I am happy to oblige. I wasn't sure how it would go over as a trip report update, but it seemed to be well liked. No need to worry. I am a newbie and I know it. I don't have years of reading trip reports as my husband does so I know I have a lot to learn. \ I must be doing ok, since he is letting me fly solo with this trip report.
  3. Great! A boy and his toy, that means no more trip report posts for a few weeks.
  4. Noooo, those sticky wings and pot stickers are the best! I agree on the steak don't get me wrong, but seriously you didn't eat any of the wings?
  5. First let me say that of all the days to be so busy with work all freaking day that I don't even have time to reply! UGH! Good thing my husband has time to post. Did I mention it was AWESOME!!! It's gonna be hard to top that tour as a Disney experience. Call me a dork but It was so freaking cool. That is quite a compliment. Thank you! I am tickled that someone else finds this interesting too! Wait! Did I read that right? Yes, that's what he said. Are you kidding me? That's awesome! Thank you. First Lou... makes a rare appearance, then DaveInTn and now this. I mig
  6. The horses all work 3 days and then get time off. He showed us the paddock that they get turned out in when they are done working on a typical work day. Then we talked about the barn itself. They have these automatic fly spray sprayers in each stall to deal with the flies that bother the horses. That’s impressive in a draft horse barn. He also showed us that they are upgrading the doors on the stalls from these to these. We were talking about ventilation and he pointed out that ventilation has always been a problem for this barn because of the roof. So, we walked o
  7. I knew you wouldn't be able to resist, Mr. I don't read trip reports and has BARELY commented on this trip report despite having a cameo in it so I know you're reading to see just what I have to say about you. I mention something other than rope drop or ADR or FP and you are instantly commenting. Really?
  8. March 28, 2013 continued We have a date with a person we have tried numerous times to connect with, but now it’s finally happening. Backstory-I grew up on a Clydesdale breeding farm in Ohio. I have family friends all over the Midwest who also breed draft horses, i.e. Clydesdales, Percherons, and Belgians. Every time I tell one of these friends that we vacation at Fort Wilderness they always insist that I need to look up ‘so-and-so.’ So I email ‘so-and-so’ and we exchange emails and it never works out, the dates never match up. Well, this time they finally did. So, we got to spend
  9. They are nice, you can actually talk to each other. Maybe they reward the non-complainers.
  10. I totally second this rant!!! and I am the mother of 4 young children. I have a 10, 8, 6, and just turned 3yr old. We take a single umbrella stroller ONLY! and sometimes we don't take it into the park with us. Imagine that! Just think of all the toes and ankles that are saved by me doing my part in reducing the number of unneccessary strollers!
  11. Back to DHS on March 28, 2013 If you remember the BuckeyeFortFamily is split up and since I have the camera and am writing the trip report you get to hear how I relax at Disney instead of how exciting the Indiana Jones show is. Now there are times that my loving husband, BuckeyeFortFan, feels that I am well....Lame. And this is going to be one of those times. BuckeyeFortKid2 and I were on a mission to meet Minnie Mouse and she wasn't going to be back out until 10:30 and it's now just before 10. So, I ask BFK2 what she wants to do. Mind you the littlest BuckeyeFortKid is with us, but
  12. Just for future reference I would choose sitting on the shelf over category 2 if you want to have actors near you because the ratio of audience members to actors is so much better on the shelf. The only drawback is sitting on one side of the table for the rare moments you aren't watching the show talking is a little tougher.
  13. NOOOOO! NOT FAIR! MAKE 'EM WAIT! Oh my goodness! Kelly you beat me to it! This is some funny stuff! Mr. TCD, congratulations-you win the award for the funniest post on my trip report. I can just see a new thread brewing with the step by step photos of obtaining one of these magical fast passes at TSM.
  14. Lou....of course! My favorite CM's are definitely irregular and magical all at the same time!
  15. I have just as much distrust of regular castmembers as you do. I only trust those who actually make decisions.
  16. I tried to get BuckeyeFortFan to approve another ride, but by now the wait was over our 10-15 minute limit and the FP returns were later than we could stay at DHS today so it was time to move on. I was sad. 3 times just doesn't seem to be enough. I am so freaking spoiled. So, we headed over to catch the first Indiana Jones show and caught this on the way. Can you believe we have never seen this? Wait a minute I think it's on the agenda for next time. This guy is amazed. Well, we drop off BuckeyeFortFan and BFK1 and BFK3 at Indiana Jones and I take BFK2 and BFK4 to meet Minnie Mou
  17. The Calliope is not gone, but you will have to wait until I get to that in my trip report. And come on that hitch wagon isn't something to shake a stick at. It cost more than most cars do.
  18. We'll see... I love the soft opening, but you really can't bank on it. They are so nice though because there is no stampede. Thank you! We try to be good students! If you arrive early enough to enjoy a soft opening then you are at least in the front of the line when they do open if they wait until posted time! Not a bad gamble. No. Well, just a wait a day or two on this trip report and I will show you that even the MK can do a soft opening of sorts. Thank you, thank you! Neighbor. In all our DHS rope drops this was only the 2nd soft opening for us here.
  19. Great trip report! Thanks for sharing the Disney love for the rest of us koolaid drinkers.
  20. Salsa chicken. Chicken and salsa in the crock pot for a few hours on high or longer if frozen chicken.Serve over rice or pasta. So simple, I always save little salsa and put it out with chips for the kids to snack on while supper cooks
  21. Honestly he probably looks better in that kilt than he does in a pair of shorts
  22. I don't have much time to respond but I want to say we've been there for soft openings and you absolutely CAN NOT predict them. But I will say I have seen them open the turnstiles at EPCOT at 7:10 and then close them again at as soon as the group waiting had moved thru. Then they took us to the land and held is there until park opening. I was the only one in the group of 40/50 people that wasn't riding soarin' because I had BFK4.
  23. March 28, 2013 It's a relaxed DHS morning then our big TCD Ranch visit this afternoon. We left the camper at 7:10 and I grabbed this predawn picture of the moon from the campsite. It's so foggy this morning. Let's call this one "Fog over the canal next to Bonnet Creek Parkway." TCD, How's that title? Did I do it justice? Excited kids, hopeful for a bright a sunny day. Moon over Lake Buena Vista Blvd. Beautiful sight. The moon is still up which means no one else is! Yup, empty parking lot, just like I like it! We walked up to the turnstiles and walked right in. What?
  24. Taking notes on the proper naming of photos. Thanks I love that photo. I'm a little sad that this may be the last 'first' time to be in awe of meeting a character.
  25. I am not gonna get this full trip report onto my free photobucket account. Is anyone else using a free website like photobucket, that they like? VIA NAPOLI was freaking awesome. Like SF awesome! Maybe your advice that comes from the stomach is reliable, it's the rest we ought to question.
