  1. We are just starting to research this option too. I'm interested in hearing answers to all of Rennie's questions (especially good places to eat), but have an additional question too! We have been to Hershey Park and Busch Gardens in Virginia. How does Dollywood compare to those who have been to both or all 3.
  2. I'm enjoying your trip report. I love your responses. Seriously cool. I agree totally Redheads are the best. What a bummer no talking Mickey.
  3. We recently did a week at Historical Virginia (Williamsburg, Jamestown, Monticello, among other places). The kids loved it and learned tons all at the same time. Busch Gardens was fun too.
  4. Isn't that the benefit of camping? You can bring the whole house with you! I am pretty sure I do.
  5. I think most of us would agree that becoming a Fiend was a smart move! Most of our Halloween trips have been when Halloween fell mid-week so that meant a lot of activities on not only the weekend before but Halloween Day too. We enjoy the Headless Horseman coming to the campfire, the golf cart parade, the jack o latern contest, and the site decorating contest in addition to trick or treating.
  6. I just want to throw this out there. We have done Christmas, Easter, and Halloween at the Fort and although all are fun Halloween is hands down the best with Easter a close second. Halloween activities are fun and the parks aren't as busy as other holidays (although the Fort is max capacity). We enjoyed our Christmas at the Fort but we won't repeat it like we do Halloween nearly every year for the past decade.
  7. Hey. We ate at Pecos Bill's just last night. I always get the pulled pork sandwhich which is good but BuckeyeFortFan got the short ribs for the first time. Although hard to eat they were quite tasty. This place can be hectic for our large family with the narrow pathways between tables and only one section with tables large enough for all 6 of us.
  8. The dryers work amazingly well. At 54 minutes everything in them is super hot and very dry, almost overdone if you worry about clothes shrinking. I even did a load of 5 heavy beach towels and they were all done at 54 minutes. The old dryers took forever to get the whole load dry. I am happy about the change.
  9. We love Evergreen RV Park in Wilmot, OH. It's in Southern Stark county. They have nice paved roads, a playground for the kids, an indoor pool and hot tub which is awesome for NEOhio weather.
  10. Another plus-great smelling camper or campsite.

  12. 900 is a nice quiet loop. 800 loop is huge which means busy and more traffic. The 700 loop's comfort station is across the busy main road which can be a concern moving little ones across if you use the comfort stations heavily. 500/600 are near the most grown up playground in the Fort and the dog park.
  13. I agree with TCD! I have 4 under 12 myself.I have had great luck with requesting Little Bear 1400 inner loop specifically asking for it because I have 4 little ones that want to ride their bikes. But 1200/1300 loops work great too because of the nice playground for those ages at the entrance. I also requested to not be near any water when I had toddlers for safety reasons.
  14. 1 stick of butter 1 pkg dry onion soup mix 2-4 lbs stew beef Cook all ingredients on low in a crock pot for 6+ hours. Serve over pasta or rice. This doesn't ever get burnt edges and stew beef just gets better the longer you cook it which makes this my go to Disney recipe. No need to rush home from a park because the crock pot needs turned off. Enjoy!
