On Sunday, May 2, 2021, early in the morning, I took a stroll down the pedestrian path behind the 300 loop and found a dad back there with his kids and golf cart.

What’s the big deal about that?

For one thing, this guy had to drive past several signs telling him that no golf carts are allowed back here.

For another, zoom in on that photo so you can see that this genius and a kid who can’t be more than 5 years old are on the other side of the alligator fence with their fishing poles.

    WTF?

  2. From FOX 35

Great news for college students who love Disney!

Disney has announced that the Disney College Program is returning in June.

Those students whose programs ended early or were suspended last year due to COVID-19 are being asked to reapply.

Disney said it has simplified its application process and modified its eligibility requirement so many who have already graduated can still apply

Remember back in the good old days where we had real news reports where the anchors reported the news, didn't do happy talk or interject their opinions.

    Huntley/Brinkley, Walter Cronkite, Gabe Pressman.

Now we have "news" shows that are like the View/Today show.  Very little substantial news, lots of happy crap that would in the past be only printed in a neighborhood news letter.

My brother was in journalism his whole life and he always said, "There are no more journalist, only copy writers, nobody researches the story".

  4. They are paying CM the equivalent of 4 hours if fully vaccinated by Sept. 30 and they are setting up Vac sites on property.

I think the union will be very responsive to getting back to normal and everybody back to work ASAP.

Things are changing rapidly with the CDC since people are starting to see that they don't know what the h--- the're doing, look at the Cruise announcement today... Back to full cruising by Mid JULY..

I thought I heard in the news clip that you shared. That phase 1 lifts the mask mandate for small outdoor gatherings but not large outdoor gatherings. If that is the case you’ll still have to wear a mask inside the parks and at Disney Springs.
Or did I hear that wrong?

It's written in the article that in PHASE II no mask outdoors.  I  copied it verbatem, here it is again.

This phase lifts the mask mandate for all outdoor activities for everyone in the county,

Do you think that will affect WDW?
    I bet it doesn’t.

since it excludes large outdoor gatherings

It shortens the PHYSICAL DISTANCING which WDW has been following, so that shortens the queues and it excludes indoor not outdoor in Phase II.

The first phase of the three-phased plan took effect immediately. It reduces physical distancing requirements from 6 feet to 3 feet

    PHASE II

This phase lifts the mask mandate for all outdoor activities for everyone in the county, though people will still be required to maintain at least 3 feet of distance between groups. The county will still require masks for indoor activities, except when people are eating or drinking.

For me it’s just too hard to fight for reservations.  A certain TA grabs all the good reservations. I remember when you could always get Christmas reservations. You had to be creative but you would always get them.

To add pain to misery, there was just an article published that since the pandemic started a million new people became RV owners.

And my opinion is impatient local drivers and lost tourists.

The impatients weave in and out of traffic going as fast as possible.    (at times you are likely to end up at same exit with them just in front of you)

Then we have the wonderful tourists and the locals who slow down to be able to read their phones.  PULL OVER you fools.

Along with the fact that there is NO enforcement of the KEEP RIGHT law.  Far too many people drive below the posted limit in the left lane whether it be on I-4, 27, 192 or any multi-lane road with a vast majority on their phones so people weave to pass.   I also agree with Andrew this state has the WORST planning and zoning that I have ever encountered not only at the State level, but also at the County level.

Hopefully this will help those of you having a difficult time getting park reservations. I didn’t know this was even possible.

I didn't think it was either, unless they let Resort Guests book reservations before they bought their tickets.

  10. Since they have limited staffing we've heard that they are filling loops as needed instead of scattering people all over. if 2000 wasn't full there would be no reason to put people in 1500. Someone said that 700 was also empty last week IIRC.

They did the same in the cabin loops. Our daughter and family were there and numerous loops were unused 2500 being one.
