  1. No doesn't work that way Bob. I tried. On a side note, I can turn any tub, pool, or lake for that matter into a bubble bath / whirlpool. .
  2. We had a guy that thought it would be a good idea to use a circular saw to cut up palates to use as fire wood. Of course he waited till night time to start his fire and then every 45-60 minutes he would fire that thing up and make about a dozen cuts. Finally, about 10 o'clock the park ranger showed up to see what construction was going on that late at night. Also had a guy with a chainsaw one time. I explained to him he really should not be using a chainsaw at night, especially in a campground, and doubly especially, YOU DON'T CUT DOWN LIVE TREES FOR FIRE WOOD. I hate camping on Holida
  3. Another great tip for using the crock pot is to use the liners. Some of the meals we even put together in the liner at home and then put in a zip loc bag. When you're ready to cook just take out of the zip loc drop the liner with meal already in it in the pot, add any liquids needed and your off in less than a couple of minutes. Great to have a meal waiting on you when you get back to camp. Super easy clean up too.
  4. We usually get there early. They will go ahead and check you in and give you all your paperwork and keys to the kingdom cards. You can leave them your cell number and they will text you your site number when it becomes available. You can either park in the overflow lot and catch a bus to anywhere on Disney property or break out the bikes and go exploring, put on your swim suites and hit the pool, or go make your supply run to Wally world or a grocery store. Of course if your site is ready they will let you in early but I would have a backup plan ready.
  5. We just about always have ours up. It has been through some pretty rough thunder storms without trouble. I do tie it down with some good 12" sand stakes put in the ground at a good angle for holding power and always have it slanted for water runoff.
  6. well hopefully I won't be banished forever form this site  I think you might actually have to kill someone for that to happen. :rofl2: WELCOME BOB!! and even then it depends on who. :rofl2: Welcome :popo:
  7. Hey Carol, you broke your links on here too. Ya'll sure do a lot of camping and get around to many different places.
  8. iGoogle has A Camping at Disney Theme you can set on your igoogle home page. It's a picture of a camper set up complete with Mickey light post in site 852. Pretty cool! Here this is better than me trying to describe it.
  9. Nothing like giving a dog something else to lift a leg on. It never ceases to amaze me how widely rules get interpreted at the fort. I have been fussed at for having 1/2 a tire off the drive. These guys cover over 100 sq feet and I bet no one said a word to them.
  10. That must be a new tram. The doors don't look like a retro fit. Did all the trams have the doors?
  11. Most of our trips are weekend trips so I try to get partial site. However, on our real vacation for week or more I go for full hook up to have the sewer hookup so I don't have to hunt for a place to dump waste water. It is nice to not have to worry about how much water you use when washing up. One of these days I will try the premium sites if I can get a deal.
  12. Yep, Lou is right. I was not thinking about the low end and was basing my info on the sign posted in the OP.
  13. Age does not matter. As Lou says riders must be at least 2. Riders must me under 48" tall and under 80 lbs.
  14. Disney does in fact actually clean the sites between users. They blow off the site, pick up any leftover items then hose down the entire site including the grill.
  15. In the beginning we always brought way to much clothes, food and drink. We are still a little heavy in the drink department but I refuse to pay 3 or 4 times the price at the TP. Just keep an extra case hot in the back of the truck. We also cut way down on the DVDs. Except for biting fly season (May, and September) I leave the screen room at home as well.
  16. It was OK ..... But to me it was an infomercial. Closest they came to mentioning the fort was the last girl talking about her family loading up the Winnebago to go to wdw. Nothing about the campground just that they came in a camper. But it was OK glad I got to see it with DVR. Started watching about 20 min after it started so I FF through commercials.
  17. I had posted over there a while back Or if it is real site or if the picture is "Photoshoped"? Looks to be a premium site with the new grill and picnic table. But the grill looks out of place. Most of the premium sites have the grill at the back left-hand corner of the paved pad. This site also looks like the driveway is one monolithic unit like the new section of the 600 loop, not the patchwork of the converted sites where they just added a strip to the old driveway and filled in the sand pad. http://disneyworld.disney.go.com/resorts/campsites-at-fort-wilderness-resort/ Disney really uses c
  18. Halloween weekend 2010 site 16?? something in the teens
  19. No vacuum, but we do bring a full size broom to keep the pup and rug under the awning swept up. Throw the rug over the clothes line before we leave and give it a good beating but still have to vacuum out the storage compartment when we get home to get the crushed rock out. That stuff gets everywhere.
  20. I voted Christmas but we have never actually been at the fort for Christmas (we've been early December). I'm just a Christmas nut. We have been the last two 4th of July's (Fun but very hot and wet), and the last two Halloween's (Both great trips and a lot of fun) I would just love to be at the fort the week after Christmas but I am just too cheap to pay those prices.
