Cousin Orville  figured this out a long time ago. He should have got a patent.

Without a tape measure it hard to know which of the CM's screwed up.  The one that let your son ride and risk his safety or the one that said no.  I feel you frustration but I would rather they error on the safe side.  But they should get it fixed.  They should have also had a portable measuring stick that they sometimes carry around and check to use as a double check.   No matter how you look at it the way they handled it was bad show.

We almost always check in early and get to go to the site about 1/2 the time. One time we did not get our site until 1:30 and I was PO about that.  If they told me up front it would be after 3:00 I would come unglued.
 
I am of the opinion  that the check-in CMs at the fort are only allowed to stay until they fully understand their job at which time they are immediately moved  mid shift to another position.  
 
This is the only reason I see why it takes so long to check in at the fort.  I have a paid in full reservation, I do online check-in, I have already set up a charge card, and it still takes longer to check-in than it does at a cheapo motel that I just show up and ask for a room.  

Why did this person wait so long? Have they been under a rock? Oh wait that is where snakes live.    Never mind. 

I wanted some place mats for our trailer so I decided to make some.  We had some Fort Wilderness maps from one of our trips, so I decided I wanted to make place mats out of them.  I took about 4 or 5 of the maps to Staples and had them laminated with about an inch all around then voila "place mats.

Whoever did that mod did a good job.
 
Do they use that porta-potty sitting on the drawer slide like that?  Doesn't look like it would be a good idea to sit on it.

We stayed in 1307 and loved it nice easy site to get in and no one on top of you.  You can go out the back of the site to the bus stop across the street. Easy walk to the pool area. 

We made this with whole pineapple ring then butter, brown sugar and cinnamon then a slice of pound cake.  Put on hot coals pineapple side down for 5-7 mins and then turn over for 5-7 mins. open carefully (molten sugar is like lava) and top with whip cream.   Ice cream would be even better but we rarely have ice cream with us camping.

For what it's worth (not much) I called reservations and they told me under 3 does not count toward the total persons per site at the campground.  The under 1 year-old rule is what i was told for a room and I made the jump to think it applied to the campground.  

I do hate to see the trees go but as someone who camps in a popup I'm all for clearing out trees with questionable stability. 

It looks like for 2014 a premium site rack rate adds up to $36,894. but that does include all the FREE transportation. Oh forgot the tax make that about $43,904 or $ 120.28/day Avg. or $3,658.66/ month avg.
