  1. No thank you. I can’t find $100 to pull the trigger on the Christmas party. And now if you want to hang out at Tonys it will cost you an additional $100. I think I can find a better way to spend $200 per person
  2. Because of the cost for us to stay at the Fort and my DW likes room service. LOL. We’ve been staying at Wyndham bonnet creek and Disney resorts for the last couple of years. I have not noticed this at other Disney resorts but is there a problem with free loaders Parking for free at the fort and using Disney transportation to avoid having to pay the parking fees at the parks?
  3. From my understanding anyone, resort guests, locals, whoever, can use any amenities at any resort they want to except the swimming pools. Unless your a dvc owner then you can pool hop to certain resort pools And with exception of the Beach club the pools are not really monitored. And IMHO. The pools should be for resort guests only. And CMs. they deserve all the perks they can get.
  4. Of course those people are local...local freeloaders! Lol!
  5. Of course there are Floridians going to the Fort. The state has 20+ million people in it. How do you know all those sites were rented by locals? I don’t consider people from Miami, Fort Myers, Tallahassee or the panhandle locals.
  6. I’m not sure I’m getting your point. Are you saying the locals on this and other sites who have said that Disney price increases are keeping them away from the Fort are wrong?
  7. I would contact a travel agent that specializes in Disney reservations. It doesn’t cost you anything and they can check daily for you. And when something becomes available book it for you. We do a sponsor of this site that is a TA and is an “expert” on getting Fort reservations. And I’m sure he will be along shortly, probably by tomorrow, and give you even more advice than I can We also have a few other members who are TAs and can help you also If you want to try on your own, try booking one night at a time. Make sure you book the same category as your current rezzies.
  8. Ok. I would expect to see lots of Florida tags in the biggest tourist city in the US. Florida is the 3rd most populous state and the most populous state east of Texas. Orlando is the cheapest city in the Us to rent a car. And don’t have a great public transportation system. When we rented Donnie’s 5er we had a rental car with a Florida plate and his 5er has Florida plates The several people i spoke of are members of this site who have said so themselves. And members of other Disney sites I’m on.
  9. If you look at it dispassionately, WDW isn’t worth the money period! Who thinks a campsite is worth $180/ night at Christmas? I can get a high end condo at a beautiful resort and watch the Epcot, and HS fireworks every night from my balcony for less money. And be closer to Epcot, DS, and HS then when we stay the the Fort. But yet we do both we just returned from a week at Pop and had a blast. And at Christmas we will do 8 nights in our condo and 5 nights at WDW. We rented DVC points. Which helps with the cost at those high end resorts. people who want and love the “full” Dis
  10. Are one and only Disney Cruise. We rented a car at MCO drove to the port. Returned our car and got on the ship. Upon our arrival we picked rented another car and drove to WDW and returned our car. No parking fees Most of the time, in Florida, car rental companies don’t charge a drop off fee. And rental cars are cheap. And sometimes full size and minivans are cheap also Last May we rented a full-size car at MCO and returned it in Oklahoma City for 19 days for $173.55. Yes you read that right. $173.55 for 19 days and a return in Oklahoma.
  11. This is from my buddy that drove from Pensacola to WDW yesterday. “Yes it's open and gas stations are fine. Just have to be careful through Tallahassee and surrounding because some of those places still don't have power and lots of long lines everywhere. But if you fill up before that and then get through that area then he's good! Yes tell them to make sure they eat before making the drive from basically I 10 past Tallahassee we stoped at least 5 times trying to get something but the lines were extremely long it might be a little better tomorrow but like Stephanie said some
  12. Our friends drove I-10 from Oklahoma to WDW and stayed the night in Pensacola in Saturday night. He said he was going to gas up in Alabama before they hit Florida. They arrived at WDW yesterday, Sunday. I’m heading to the airport at the moment and it’s to early to call them. But as soon as I land to change planes in Houston I’ll give them a call and give you an update. Safe travels
  13. Ageee. Also, i imagine they’ll close one side of SE at a time. I would imagine most of the work will happen inside the sphere.
  14. “but Disney spend brings me a smile.” 😂 😂 😂
  15. Agree. We love staying on property, and all the perks that comes with an on-site stay. I know it’s going to sound cheesy but there’s something magical about staying on property. But we also love bonnet creek. It’s like our second home now. We know several members of the staff. Mainly a few of the bartenders out by one of the pool bars. Lol We each have our favorite pool, restaurant, and things to do. Luckily we can still afford to both. But as prices keep going up we will be spending more time at Bonnet Creek
  16. Thanks for sharing. It was an interesting read.
  17. It’s all in how you want to spend your money. For us Disney’s Resort prices are to high. So we mainly stay in a condo at Wyndham bonnet creek. I can watch the Epcot and HS fireworks from our balcony. 5 pools, 4 poolside bars. 6+ restaurants. Several fire pits, etc, etc. and we absolutely love it there. And we can get a 2 bedroom condo, at Christmas for $1200 a week. all that being said we do miss the onsite properties. So we do a split stay. This Christmas we will do 8 nights at bonnet creek and then we rented DVC points for an additional 2 nights at copper creek, 2 n
  18. Pretty cool. I might try and swing by to pick one up.
  19. I just showed DD this picture and she wants to buy me one now. Lol.
  20. We arrive on Monday and staying one night at ASMovies than moving to Pop for 6 nights. We usually buy a mug as soon as we get there. DW needs her coffee. Lol. Im wondering if we can buy one at ASMovies and get it for length of stay when we move to Pop. I’m assuming not. I bet we will have to wait to buy it when we get to Pop. Has anyone run into this situation???
  21. We too like to be hands free. But DW and DD drink a lot of water. So they remain hands free and I carry a back pack. 6 bottles of water, snacks, ponchos, charging cords and portable charger. Move gotten used to it. And I figure we save about $20+ everyday. Or 3 beers.🍻
  22. Do you have any alarm on your rig? if so it could be pulling juice from your batteries. Especially if it’s an older battery that is starting to go.
