  1. That was just a matter of changing the remote to another channel besides the default.
  2. I was one of the first Direct TV customers in my area; was with them for years; then gave me a huge run around about constant lost connections. I told them the had 'one last chance'. They sent a crew of SIX out. I pointed out that the dish was pointed right through a tree; I pointed out that when the dish was put there I pointed out that it barely cleared the tree, and the tree would grow. The "supervisor" told me that the tree wouldn't affect the signal - it would look through the tree. That's pure BS and I told him so at the time. I also pointed out that the tree got wet when it raine
  3. I have a Netflix account as well as Dish Anywhere. Dish Anywhere allows me to watch any show I have recorded on my DVR - or to watch any of the channels I have on Dish. Netflix fills in a lot of gaps in Dish programs. Having the two of those was a big factor in getting a 14" laptop vs the Netbook. I can watch any of those on a larger screen in HD without a hickup - that wouldn't happen with a Netbook.
  4. The Table Service side might be different - the Pub side is Counter Service ... and it was a "never again' experience for us.
  5. We ate at tyhe Rose 7 Crown Pub - ONCE - years ago. It totally sucked. It worse than sucked. It's the worst meal we have ever had at Disney World - EVER! Maybe we should have gotten drunk first. :rofl2:
  6. Get into Animal Kingdom at 8am by booking the Breakfast at Tusker House! Not only was the food some of the best of the Disney Breakfast Buffets we had for our Week in December; not only was the Character Interaction the best of any of the Character meals we had in December - we were already in Animal Kingdom ready to go when it opened. Fast Passes for Expedition Everest (Dance Disco Yeti; Dance!) were a breeze and we right at Kilamanjaro Safari for a walk on ride (and all the babies were out!).
  7. I had good luck towing Mom & Dad's 33 footer using my Dodge Durango (with the 360 & Tow Pg). Even with that load, it towed well and still got 11 mpg. PureTCrazy & I are leaning toward a 4-door truck - that might be a way for you to go.
  8. The weather has me a little down :smug: Get in line; take a number; set a spell
  9. We just got back; we have a short trip planned in May ... and I already want to go back!
  10. PureTCrazy and I had it for our first night down - and it lasted for days. You can also get the biscuits or any of the sides at Trails To Go - even if they aren't on the menu ... just ask for them. I picked up the biscuits one evening to have for breakfast the next morning!
  11. More free samples every Monday - check back April, 11
  12. There are Annual Pass discounts with DVC - but that only works if you make multiple trips in a year ... which is one of the points I made. IF you make multiple trips, etc it MIGHT be a deal.
  13. IF you have the money to 'buy in' without financing DVC, it is a 'deal'. Overall, you come out a little bit better on 'bang for your buck' in CERTAIN circumstances based on the number of people traveling; number of days you stay per year; yada yada. There are spreadsheets breaking it down. It ISN'T for everyone, but some people do get a better deal using DVC. Camping at The Fort is NOT one of the ways to break even - or get a better deal. IF (or when) DVC comes to The Fort, it MIGHT be a deal for some of us. Even I would look into that :argh:
  14. Just don't wear the cheap ones, they tend to bind more than the higher-end thongs! :o I thought the goal of wearing a thong was to get it higher in the end >:D
  15. I noticed that the ones riding them are female and don't have beer bellies. How would it hold up under the load of our Snarky Fairy with his wide load and the beer belly hanging off the front? I don't think it's going to be usable by those that need a personal mobility device. DON'T let them in the parks! Can you imagine a Brazilian Tourist Group with these? :o Or even worse - the Stroller Packin' Mamma. >:D :rofl2:
  16. May 6-8 is our next trip. Just a quick one to do the Expedition Everest Challenge run. Fireworks and an after hours party at Animal Kingdom! http://espnwwos.disney.go.com/events/rundisney/expedition-everest-challenge/
  17. Bus to EPCOT; not much of a wait for bag check & ticket scanner. New Toy Story Topiary at the front - meh; Walked on through and found Donald, Daisy, Mickey, Minnie and Pluto; Grabbed a drink and a BIG Dill Pickle in a bag - yes, they DO have them at EPCOT. It still PO's me that Mission to Mars doesn't have a single rider line! A bunch of Fairies - none of the 'manly'. Winnie the Pooh, Eeyore, Piglet & Tigger. Lightning McQueen. Over to Mexico to ride the boat and cool off a little. Now Mom's hungry, but nothing at EPCOT sounds appetizing to her :D So ... back to The Fort, and
  18. Golf Cart down to the Marina; Boat to MK. While we were on the boat, I told Mom we had to get a Dole Float while we were at the MK. The "Skipper" asked if we were the ones that were talking about The Dole Whips - they are his favorite! One thing led to another, and he was left with a http://fortfiends.net card in hand. (I seemed to pass out a bunch of cards to CMs while I was down at WDW this time, and they all seemed excited about it). Our main reason for the trip was to get Mom a long sleeved shirt or jacket. She was complaining of 'the cold' and Animal Kingdom didn't have anything in h
  19. Passed out http://FortFiend.net cards at the bus stop; passed out more on the bus :rofl2: Made it through bag check & through the entrance. Headed to the left to hit The Safari first - 40 minute wait time, so we grabbed Fast Passes and took a stroll on Pangani Trail. Mom was delighted - the Baby Gorilla was out! She also got to see her favorites - the Neekid Mole Rats A Meerkat Scout was in plain view up high :rofl2: Finished the walk and still had about 15 minutes wait on the Fast Passes, so we took a quick bio. Back a few minutes early, but they waved us on in. Lots of "babies"
  20. Epsilon was the one that screwed up - and they contract with a lot of companies. Expect an e-mail from credit card issuers, etc.
