  1. This is making me miss the Fort too much. I hope you continue to visit the Fort in the future!
  2. I think Lou is referring to the fact that a MAN is talking Laundry. I have been looking for these sheets to put in the camper for months and have not been able to find any in Louisiana.
  3. We just may cross paths then. That is the time frame we will be going!
  4. What time frame are you going? We will be heading to Yellowstone sometime this summer. We will be in the truck camper and going without any reservations staying in rest areas and truck stops. The rest areas going west are not like the rest areas in the east. Texas has some very nice rest areas.
  5. Be sure and check the connections to the fuse panel. I checked mine and this is what I found: I was glad it had not progressed any further.
  6. I just got hooked on metal detecting. Got a new Garrett AT Pro for my birthday and so far have found a '39 wheat penny. Looking for that first silver.
  7. If you are concerned about the batteries lasting, Pull the fuse for the Propane detector. Since it will not be occupied it should not be an issue. Another option would be to get a fellow Fiend to go by the third day you are out and run the generator for a couple of hours to charge up the battery bank.
  8. During Mardi Gras I had an elderly couple tell me to keep a close eye out while walking the dogs along the canal behind the 800 loop because there was a mother bear and her cub on the other side of the canal. They had seen it. I took their advice with a grain of salt.
  9. And I have a theory on the water pumping situation and it relates to "Bear Rock". I think they have lowered the water level for the construction of the water park feature at the Four Seasons and once construction over there is finished, the water level will be brought back to normal and "Bear Rock" will once again swim.
  10. The sign was gone at New Years. I looked for it. Dave, that is the canal I was referencing.
  11. It is not slime. It is actually: "Lemnoideae, also known as Duckweeds, or water lentils, are aquatic plants which float on or just beneath the surface of still or slow-moving fresh water bodies and wetlands. Wikipedia"
  12. On our New Years trip we ran a test. Dear Son and I left the outpost on foot and Shardi and the rest of the family hopped the first bus that came. We were in the 700 loop. We made it to the camper 3 minutes after the rest of the family. That is a long walk because we were almost at the exit end of the 700 loop. The 900 loop. When we were there on the Mardi Gras trip, I made several passes through the 900 loop walking the dogs. They were pulling all the old wire out of the conduits and replacing with new, larger gauge wire. They were also changing out the transformers and main distribution pan
  13. OK. I have access to a bunch of pictures that was reserved for someone else's trip report but if they don't get off their rump, I'm going to throw them into my report.
  14. Waiting on the pictures of TCD Crossing the finish line. I see you made it through alive.
  15. That is one good looking Golf Cart and an even better looking Pilot!
  16. OK TCD, Here are all the photos I have from the Pirates League. Unfortunately I did not have a good camera and all these are cell phone pictures. I don't think there is any doubt that this is the Real Six Bits. From Mayor on Monday to Swash Buckling Pirate on Saturday. Also take note of that Casual Pirate in the yellow shirt.
  17. Saturday, the last day at Disney world. It has been a great 8 days. We meet some Fiends, Shardi got to spend some time with the Wild Women, Dear Son completed the Roller Coaster Grand Slam, and now it was time to go. Slowly. I started the morning with towing the Fiver to the over flow lot while Shardi went to meet the WW. I was a lot slower at getting up front than I wanted and the lot was full. (I am going on a Troll Rant now)I am talking no where to park a 38 foot Fiver and truck together. The problem was all the small utility trailers that were parked in the oversize parking spaces. Come on
  18. Friday. The Mission: Complete the Grand Slam of Disney Roller Coasters. This day had one purpose. Ride Primeval Whirl. So, as Shardi headed out to meet the Wild Women of Fort Fiends, The Kids and I headed off to Animal Kingdom. Upon entering the park we made our way straight to Primeval Whirl. It was up and running with a wait time of nothing! We hopped on and rode it. That was it. We had made it. Dear Son had completed the Grand Slam of Disney’s Coasters. To celebrate, we rode it again! Then dear son rode Triceratops. Would you believe they would not let him ride it alone. No. He had to have
  19. That is funny. It is OK to bedazzle the sharpie, just not the canvas that was discussed.
  20. Me too. Every time I have seen the operator, which has only been twice, it was the same guy and he looked like he was having a blast interacting with the people. Must be a great job.
  21. Thursday is a gloomy day. It had rained off and on all night and there was the threat of more rain all day. We went back to the Magic Kingdom with our ponchos in the pack. We never put them on but it was misty and wet most of the day. We started the day a little later than normal and after getting some more SoM cards, made our way over to the Terrace to get some breakfast. After ordering, and waiting for nearly 15 minutes, I find out that they are sold out of Croissants. I ask Shardi what she would like to do and she said lets go try the Be Our Guest lunch. We got over to the New Fantasy Land
  22. I have to correct myself. At this point we are Two(2) coasters short. I had forgot about Space Mountain! Keep reading. We may make the Grand Slam, we may need another trip.
  23. Animal Kingdom day! Another day of driving to the park. A little detour to drop off the dogs at doggy daycare and then on to the Animal Kingdom. Upon entering the park, I made a dash to Everest for some fast passes and then head over to meet up with the family at the train station to Rafiki's Planet Watch. Along the way I find this interesting character hanging out in the bushes. There was quite the crowd around. I think I have seen a warning on FF about this character. Maybe someone was scared of it. Not sure but here is a quick photo. Made it Rafiki's Planet watch and the vets were busy in
