  1. Yeah right, and I am the tooth fairy..... Great start to the report. Way to jump in with both feet.
  2. Bummer about the FP's. Not sure I will use them in the future if I have to tie myself to being at a certain place and time. Lovin the report!
  3. Sorry late to add comments. Another great TR. In another thread, Rick (Carol's DH) was dubbed "The Man". There is no doubt that you are "The Dad". Bravo!
  4. Sounds to me that Daves been working too hard and needs a vacation.....
  5. Our favorties are the GA State Parks and/or the many Corps of Engineer Parks on our lakes. I am also cheap so 22 to 28 per night works well for me.
  6. There is also a Camping World close by. Welcome and I can tell you we have made many trips without park tickets and had a hard time finding time to just kick back and relax. There is so much to do and much of it is free.
  7. I also agree with FWG that you need to estimate on the high side to give yourself plenty of wiggle room. I kinda did the Larry calculations and all my numbers are maximum possible (in real life you will always be carrying more cargo/weight both in your truck and trailer). However, I agree that it seems your truck will be fine.
  8. Most likely the 12K rating here is for the hitch itself and not the truck. It should be more than adequate for the trailer you are looking at.
  9. I will try to help here. God forbid Larry shows up. You would take your total truck weight + tongue weight and items loaded in the truck (people/cargo/etc) and then subtract from your GCVWR (gross combined vehicle weight rating) to yield your possible trailer weight. It appears that yours is either 15,000 or 17,000 depending on axle ratio (3.73 or 4.10). So using the 6174 base weight of the truck and 833 for the tongue weight, that would leave you either 7993 or 9993 for total trailer weight (after removing tongue weight). or 8,826 or 10,826 total trailer weight. Typically dodge allows 150
  10. TCD, cut him some slack! He was DDWUI (Dispensing Dole Whip Under the Influence). :rofl3:
  11. This is great. We did just about the same trip in 2009. It is neat to compare/contrast MK/Disneyland.
  12. Andrew, The pleasure was ours. We really enjoyed spending time with you. I don't think you ever got a chance to meet my other son Ryan. He goes by stealth in our house so no surprise you didn't meet him. :rofl3: We also never got to meet the twins. Guess that is what next time is for! Of course something tells me she may have looked up to twin #1 as her hero. I kinda have to keep my eye on Kelly as well.
  13. I haven't given up but I have had a few new challenges with gathering up pics that I already had done once. I am really hoping to get an couple updates in this week and wrap it up next week while we are dead at work.
  14. Wow, you are off to a great start. Love the train "hump" yard!
  15. Unbelievable. I never would have thought he was really in that picture there. But you do seem to have the proof.
  16. Thanks! Not sure I am going take pics again based on how great these turned out. :banghead:
  17. Not only have I been very slow at posting updates, I have been very neglectful in responding to your posts. Thanks for reading along and letting me know someone is interested in this piece of .....work. Thanks Obi Wan Be careful how much time you tell me to take. I am pretty good at procrastinating. I am just disappointed that we missed you. I am not sure we would have had time to go to a park. The week flew by as it was. Thanks Carol. I am sure I will make you look good before it's over. If I had been taking the pics that would be a pretty good guess but with DD it must have been s
  18. Your wish is my command. I am finally getting the pics together plus work has gotten in the way. I will try to do better from here on out. Day 2 THIS IS MY HAPPY DAY :jumpforjoy Why you ask? Because today we arrive at the Fort. We woke up around 8am today without the alarm clock. Everyone grabed a quick bite and we were on the road about 9am. When I went to the office, I had a nice chat with another camper that was heading down to the Fort. I handed him a Fort Fiends card and told him to look us up. Here are some photos of the campground (Eagle’ Roost exit 5 I-75) Love all the Oak
  19. Love the installment about the pony rides. I remember when Kelly could no longer ride. It was a bit sad that my baby was growing up. Her favorite pony was Tonka. I remember his name still today. Great report. We tried one of those bagel sandwiches on Sunday morning also.
  20. Mine is in the rear garage of the trailer so the only one that gets to see it is me. Better safekeeping that way;-)
  21. Just having some fun with you. That is a picture out of the back window of the truck at the bbq grill in the bed of the truck.
