  1. The Ruger LCR has been on my wish list since it came out some years ago. Love the easy trigger pull and comfortable grip. I kept thinking the price would come down but it has stayed right at about $450.00-500.00.
  2. Call us crazy (many people do) but we have never booked our reservations more than a couple months out. There is no magic wand to wave, you just have to be persistent about checking back for the dates you need. We tried using a travel agent a couple times but in the end had better success doing it ourselves. But if you don't have the resolve to check back 10 times a day, then you may well benefit from a TA. Honestly I would have zero concern about not currently seeing a Thanksgiving avail for next year. As sure as the sun is gonna shine tomorrow, there will be cancellations and you'll get your
  3. >The golf cart shenanigans after 10pm has been crazy. The rangers seem to be out and about more, but when you speak with them, they are short and to the point. The under age drivers seem to be on private carts so the rangers do nothing. I believe people in general just care about themselves these days < I concur. The growing tendency for people to not respect others, and well, just act like morons tests the patience of many of us rule-abiding guests. We received a notice on our windshield last night that our Star Shower lights were on past midnight (shame, shame). And yet
  4. Yep, generally true. Ah well, come Sunday at noon I can wave them all "buh-bye"
  5. Ah yes, it's that time of year again, when all the giant toddlers come to the Fort to exercise the only way their tiny brains know how to communicate with the others in their tribe by honking the horns on their rented golf carts. Holy mackerel, DW and I were reflecting on what we love, and don't, about the Fort this time of year, and while November is generally peaceful, Thanksgiving (not unlike spring break time, Halloween, etc) brings out the golf cart crazies. While driving to our loop last night we witnessed two carts, after dark, in front of us in our car, running parallel to each oth
  6. Ah yes but in true Fiendish fashion the thread has shifted to much weightier concerns such as, "is the tree even going up this year". But if we must shift this thread back to the string of lights, I'm personally hoping beyond hope that the string of lights will still be out just to watch to ensuing conversation it will spur!
  7. The tree went up last night. All you doubters can drop off my Mickey's Premium Ice Cream in loop 700 when you're ready.
  8. Tree went up on or about Nov 19 last year. The garland and other decor was up a week or so ahead. The thread subject asks "any bets....?" Why yes, I'll wager a Mickey's Premium Ice Cream bar it goes up this week.
  9. Jingle Bell, Jingle Thud. We went tonite and...what a let-down. By Disney standards, it was quite underwhelming. The laser effects were sorta cool, but it seemed that the fireworks popped up at arbitrary points in the show, almost as if the producers said "the show needs a little more pizzaz about here so lets set off some fireworks. Super glad we didn't drop. $69 ea. for the dessert party. I would enjoy 3 meals at Trails End more!
  10. Amen. And agreed, Gwen. It was so nice and peaceful in 700 this week with no giant toddlers honking horns and generally being idiots. The peace and quiet made it that much more difficult to check out. 33 days at the Fort logged for 2015. Already looking forward to our return in March.
  11. Now if o only they can install an automatic shut-down feature when golfcart horns are used for recreational purposes.
  12. There is actually a pic of the propane-fueled firepit on their posting of approved and non-approved firepits. It makes zero sense why propane-fueled fires are not allowed, but it's on there.
  13. I posted the pic on FB from 700. Workers confirmed it was for Wifi and they were targeting "end of November" to complete the work. So wifi should be avail by March or so.
  14. It is indeed frustrating that requests to tend to maintenance issues seem to fall of deaf mouse ears. Shower pressure in mens 500 CS is weak in 3 stalls, overpowering in another and shower head broken. Our biggest gripe this trip has been the audio down at the beach for Wishes. It was almost non-existent the first few days we were here, and now this week it distorts every time Jiminy starts to talk. And yet...with the various hiccups during this stay we already can't wait to return. So there's that. I also acknowledge that I have inadvertantly directed this thread back to the original for thi

  16. I'm confused with the "four separate reservations" strategy. What's up with that?
  17. You can skip Grumpy's. Drove past this morning and it's already spotless. Ours on the other hand still has some Tennessee salt on it so come on over to 500. You wash and get free beer. Or soda.
  18. Talk about busy. Holy mackerel it was busy at DTD last night. Shoulder to shoulder and bumper to bumper. Even at midnight.
  19. I agree with Gwen. I don't like Windows 8 at all. However, the new versions allow you to use what they call a "classic shell" which looks very much like Windows 7
