Ah yes, it's that time of year again, when all the giant toddlers come to the Fort to exercise the only way their tiny brains know how to communicate with the others in their tribe by honking the horns on their rented golf carts.  Holy mackerel, DW and I were reflecting on what we love, and don't, about the Fort this time of year, and while November is generally peaceful, Thanksgiving (not unlike spring break time, Halloween, etc)  brings out the golf cart crazies.  While driving to our loop last night we witnessed two carts, after dark, in front of us in our car,  running parallel to each other, honking their horns and trying to take selfies with the other cart in the background.  They sailed right past the hitch/unhitch areas with never a thought to pull over to allow the 5 cars behind them to pass.   I'd be SO in favor of the Fort disabling the horns on all rented carts. And perhaps requiring a basic intelligence test prior to renting the carts. Then there are the ones that fly by our site, going the wrong way and going way,  too fast, sometimes after dark.  Last night someone's dog nearly got run over.  In 90%+ of the cases, these are grown-ass men that should know better, with the balance being teens.  
On a more positive note, we made the trek to the MK to do something we've never done in well over a 100 visits, and that was to watch Wishes right up in front of the Castle. It is, of course, mighty crowded.  A couple from from Italy notice we were looking for a place to stand, and they kindly offered a tiny bit of real estate in front of them.    Sometimes it's the little things make a difference.

Jingle Bell, Jingle Thud. We went tonite and...what a let-down. By Disney standards, it was quite underwhelming. The laser effects were sorta cool, but it seemed that the fireworks popped up at arbitrary points in the show, almost as if the producers said "the show needs a little more pizzaz about here so lets set off some fireworks.   Super glad we didn't drop. $69 ea. for the dessert party.  I would enjoy 3 meals at Trails End more!

Livin' Lite was created and founded by my high school classmate Scott Tuttle.  They make a solid product and there is a culture of quality at the manufacturing level. Recently acquired by Thor (not necessarily a plus IMO) they now have deeper pockets for marketing and product development. Many units to strike me as a bit bland, but they are certainly well built.

Since Tennessee folks generally leave Christmas (and every other season) decorations up all year, they don't quality as "seasonal", so I think we'll be good!  And just for Lou, I'll leave our beautiful inflatable inflated and lighted all night long.

For us, the deciding factor what transporting the cart to/from the Fort.  We are in a class A, pulling a small Pontiac Vibe. We thought "wouldn't it be cool if we could find a cart small enough to fit in the back of our car?".  After some research, we found the Cricket (www.ricksesv.com).   We have used it at the fort for about 10 days and so far love it. The main drawback was people stopping us wanting more info.     The fact that it scrunches up to such a compact size is awesome for us.  It does have drawbacks - it doesn't go as fast as the larger carts (I think we topped at around 12-13mph on the FW radar gun over by the pool, WITH 4 adults onboard.  It IS small - you'll need to "like" the person you're riding with.  The trade-off for being compact (fits in small SUV's and in the back of many extended cab pickups) is....well, the fact that it's small.  They are very cool little carts.

I know - I hear ya.  Just once it would be cool to get one of those offers and not have "excluding the Campsites at Fort Wilderness" in the fine print.

OK Fiends - I wasn't expecting to get more replies on whether you *liked* boiled peanuts than where to buy them! Y'all are funny.  I must admit, the first time I tried them I thought there was no way I would like such a mushy, gross thing.   But alas, when prepared properly, I am now a fan.  For the record, we didn't find any close to the Fort, but if we do...we'll let you know.

Those who don't like or haven't tried boiled peanuts, I say don't eat them, leaves more for us who think they are one of the best things you can eat almost as good as dole whips.

But the fresh ones are even better than the canned ones, as long as they use the green peanuts (the ones that haven't been dryer).
