  1. Hope your GAG is better than our last one ... we ended up throwing part of it out ... it was so bad!
  2. We've been camping at the fort for 25 years. In 2004 we went down to attend our son's Disney wedding -- it was a short trip, so DH didn't want to tow the trailer down. We stayed at POR and were absolutely miserable! Small, dark rooms. Inadequate lighting at night. Small pool. On and on. DH even went over to the fort one afternoon. I wouldn't go because I knew it would just make me more homesick. I will probably never get the DP because I don't want to spend so much of my time in restaurants. I can eat out at home, and much of Disney's food isn't that noteworthy anyway. Would much rat
  3. Loved the topiaries at the F&GF. How did I miss Lady and the Tramp ?!?!?
  4. First question -- can you back up a towed vehicle? I can't! Tried and tried with the boat and finally gave up. But I CAN handle the motorhome!
  5. And will they let our pets stay in the hotel? I'm assuming not, which would be unacceptable for us. Guess we'd just relocate the moho and ride the storm out in it.
  6. Me too! Yes, this is gonna be an exciting report! And yes, I'm a list maker, too ... gotta be prepared for anything!
  7. A couple of vintage 1988 shots ... Our daughter who is now 40: And us in the 100 loop:
  8. First, if you want a trip report with a huge amount of photos, this won’t be it. We’ve been to WDW so many times that I don’t take a lot of photos – just enough to document us being there and new things we haven’t seen before. This trip was delayed for a year because I injured my knee and had to undergo surgery in October 2008. The knee hasn’t been at 100% since, but it’s something that I just live with. I was very upset that I couldn’t make the trip last year, but we rescheduled and planned to celebrate my birthday (a big one) in WDW this year. Thursday, November 12 - we both had to work a ha
  9. In 25 years of camping at the fort, we've never been to the HDDR. Was hoping to talk David into going on our next trip, but with these prices I doubt he will agree to it. And with me being a low carber, the only thing on the menu I can eat is chicken.
  10. Maybe ... still haven't decided. But if we do go I'll be sure to meet your friend.
  11. Welcome, Lindsay! Another Carolinian! You live near my son who's a student at Southeastern.
  12. We like to leave home at 4am on a Thursday. Drive to St. Augustine and overnight there. Then have an easy trip over to the fort on Friday. Leave the fort on the next Friday, overnight in Brunswick, GA, and arrive home on Saturday. This schedule gets us through the busiest cities at off hours. When we both finally retire (again), we will probably opt to drive both ways on weekdays and also spend more time at the fort.
  13. It may be beautiful in Michigan, but it's 20 degrees too cold for me!
  14. I wasn't flushed either. Missed you all for months on voldemort but couldn't find out where you went. (Never thought about googling "Fort Fiends" ...duh!) When we were at the fort in late April I saw one sign and the rest is history!
