You mean the "old" beach from the 70's!  Like in the train video.
That's where we used to come to picnic when we were in the Orlando area.
We would buy fresh made to order sandwiches from the deli in the Settlement trading Post, then go have a picnic while the kids played in the lake

Correct, he built DL because of the way that fairs and carnivals were going, with the hucksters, and drunks.

We are going to French Quarter for 4th of July for $103 a night.  3 nights with taxes and 3rd party fees it came to $379.  Just as cheap or cheaper than a partial site.
Yes we will be in a hotel room and can't cook our own food, but we also wont have to fold up a soggy PUP or wade thru a flooded site.
For a 3 day stay it's really not worth setting up and breaking down a tent or PUP, by the time you can check in and the time they eject you from the site.

Not all theme park experiences have to be rides to intrigue guests. Some visitors enjoy educational activities as well as those that give them unique moments with their family.

She made a Tampa Bay Rays one for my daughter for her birthday.

As far as the tp holder when we would go to shows I would always go into the bathrooms close the door and actually sit on the toilet to see if I fit, meaning do my legs hit anything, is it a right or left hand reach for tp and will even stand in the shower to see if I can stand straight up without hitting my head. You should have seen the lady's face when she opened the door and I yelled OCCUPIED!!!!

This alligator was caught working on a summer tan in a South Florida pool

Photo cred: Dave Jacobs The mating season seems to have gone awry for one South Florida alligator.

David Jacobs, a Georgia resident who found himself visiting the Sunshine State for a wedding over the weekend, captured an image of a real-life gator laying on top of a not-real-life gator over the weekend.

Jacobs first noticed the gator in the lake behind the home he rented in southwest Miami-Dade County, where it was reportedly keeping a close eye on the family's small dog before migrating to the swimming pool, WKMG reports.

A wildlife management company later removed the gator from the home. No gators – real or unreal – were harmed in the process.

U.S. Navy Blue Angels to Fly Over Spaceship Earth at Epcot on May 2
by Thomas Smith, Editorial Content Director, Disney Parks
Guests visiting Epcot on May 2 will have the rare opportunity to see some of the world’s best pilots in action during their Walt Disney World Resort vacation when the U.S. Navy Blue Angels fly over the park’s iconic Spaceship Earth attraction.
In honor of Military Appreciation Month, The U.S. Navy Blue Angels are scheduled to make two flight passes over Epcot on the morning of Thursday, May 2 before continuing their flight to the Fort Lauderdale Air Show in Florida.  If you’re planning to be at Epcot for the flyovers, a great viewing area will be between Spaceship Earth and the entrance to World Showcase.
In 2015 and 2017, the Blue Angels performed similar flyovers to the cheers of thousands of guests at Magic Kingdom Park. At speeds of more than 250 mph, the Blue Angels performed a perfect “Delta Break” maneuver right above Cinderella Castle.
Be sure to check the Disney Parks Blog on May 2 for coverage of the Blue Angel flyover at Epcot.

I'm sure Disney could pave over the entire campground and open a KOA style campground in another location on property and there would be a lot of folks perfectly fine with that.
I feel sorry for those who missed the Fort in its glory days and think what they're doing is fine.

It's only April and Universal Orlando is already announcing dates for holiday events

Hogwarts Castle will celebrate 'The Magic of Christmas' again at Universal Orlando starting Nov. 16.
Those of us who carp about Christmas coming earlier and earlier every year might as well go hide under the carpet, because Universal Orlando has decided to celebrate Earth Day by announcing the dates for its 2019 Holiday celebrations, including Grinchmas, the Holiday Parade featuring Macy's, and Christmas in the Wizarding World of Harry Potter.

This year, the holiday season at Universal Orlando will run all the way from Nov. 16, 2019, through Jan. 5, 2020. Special entertainment confirmed to be returning to the resort includes "The Magic of Christmas at Hogwarts Castle" light show in The Wizarding World of Harry Potter – Hogsmeade, and the "Grinchmas Who-liday Spectacular" musical, both in Islands of Adventure.

At Universal Studios Florida, Universal’s Holiday Parade featuring Macy's again include the Minions, and Mannheim Steamroller is coming back for live concerts on select nights. Seasonal food, including hot Butterbeer, will also be back in both parks.

All of Universal's holiday celebrations are included in standard park admission. There will also be activities for guests staying at Universal's hotels, and the annual EVE celebration at Universal CityWalk on Dec. 31.

There’s a new “Dream Camp Series” that is open for pre-orders from 7-Eleven in China! This limited edition 7-Eleven x Disney Camping Series pre-orders will be opened in May. This is actually the second series, with the first series featuring an adorable Mickey Tent!

Limited Edition Limited Edition Mickey Series Fleece Dolls
This little guy is 25 centimeters tall and comes with a backpack that can carry tiny trinkets, and you can even remove!

These 13 liter coolers come in Mickey and Winnie the Pooh Designs. They have a divider plate inside so you can organize your snacks and meals. They also come with a carrying strap to make travel with them a breeze.

Part of the fun of camping is getting to have picnics! These water-resistant picnic mats roll up for easy carrying, complete with a handle! Chip and Dale, or Winnie the Pooh are the choices offered. I wish I had one of these for when I go to the beach or park!

The camp lights are one of my personal favorites, you can choose from blue, or beige and both have a Mickey design. The brightness of the LED light can be adjusted, and there is even a multifunctional night light and camping light! The handle makes it perfect for hanging up to keep your campsite aglow.

These neck pillows hide a fun surprise…

They also turn into blankets! They feature a soft and comfortable fabric for a versatile item that’s great for travel or camping.

Waterproof bags are a must-have for camping, and who wouldn’t want Mickey Mouse ones? These 10 liter bags are great for storage and sling across your back! These are perfect for putting any valuables that you don’t want to see ruined with rain!

In case you missed out on the first collection, you can check out some of the fun offerings that quickly sold out above.
As an avid camper, I really wish this collection was available in the states, but I’m still very fond of it!
What do you think of the fun 7-Eleven x Disney Camping Series? Is this something you would like to see in your neck of the woods?
