Same here.  When we dined there and had pizza it was a great meal.  Then a year or two later we did a CP dinner package and ordered quite a few things from the menu, and most of it was disappointing.  

Ha!  As my tongue was firmly planted in my cheek when I typed that, I wondered who would make that correction.  You win!  

So on sunday I used the app to place an order at the canteen right at 11 am. As me and the kids were carrying the food back a cast member stopped us and lead us back to a big round table loaded with cupcakes. They also filled out a little certificate and brought everyone night blossom slushies from pongu pongu. My kids and their friends were so excited. The castmembers really made everyone feel special. They were constantly coming by the table getting us refills, napkins, etc. They could not have been nicer to us. 

Don't worry, Mickey's Backyard Massage Parlor and Casino will continue to feature weiner roasts and 2 for 1 cocktails every Tuesday from 9-11pm.  Tell 'em Minnie sent you and enjoy a free Mickey bar, while supplies last.    

Ok that's the same I found.  I expect that may be the last day they'll be serving dinner under the current menu sans characters.  

I'm kind of surprised they didn't build in another full serve restaurant when the built the new DVC.  Like they have at Kidani Village.  A small, intimate, higher end place.  

My sources tell me that Disney is planning on remodeling Cali Grill next year into the Top Of The World Frozen Fireworks Dessert Party.  Stuff yourself with cupcakes and macarons while mingling with Anna, Elsa and Sven, then enjoy an underwhelming sideways view of Happily Ever After with piped in music, all for just $139/pp.

Based upon availability in the Disney Dining ADR system, this change may happen after November 10.  That is the last evening that reservations are available. 
When the rumors began a few days ago, I had checked availability in the system for breakfast ADR's (there was nothing showing of course), and I thought I'd seen that dinner ADR's into the winter were available.  I wonder what the plan is re: existing reservations holders, if the shift to character dining occurs within the time that people hold ADR's, which it presumably will.  Give them the opportunity to have their romantic date night at WDW with Dopey, and a prix fixe menu of more expensive but less desirable food?  I'm sorry, but "Signature Dining" and "Dopey" are mutually exclusive concepts IMO.  I suppose maybe they'll drop the Signature designation of the restaurant, but to me that is a selling feature of a Deluxe resort that is somewhat remote compared to others (not on monorail or in Epcot area).   
Not to mention, the apple munching bimbo would make me lose my appetite anyways.

I just got back from spending some time in northern Michigan in our motorhome.  We had a great time, and one of the reasons we had a great time is that the weather was beautiful.  Highs in the 70's, and low humidity.  And even with that, we still ran the A/C in our RV.  We chattered our teeth away all night and we loved it.  You people that camp in Florida in the summer are nuts. 
You know, they have these things called interstate highways.  Find one with an odd number....those run north/south.  Get on it, and drive north until you stop sweating.  That's a summer vacation.  And in the winter, just do the opposite.  That's when you'll find me in Florida.      

Ain't that the truth.  How many cargo ships full of Disney crap come over from China every year?  And beyond the actual crap they sell, what about all the plastic and cardboard the toys are packaged in?  How many of you parents have cursed the Mouse on Christmas morning when your kid wants to play with the new toy, but it takes you 20 minutes to free it from its cocoon of plastic, which then goes into a huge trash bag with all the other plastic and cardboard from the assorted Barbies, Fisher Price toys, and Disney princess garbage?  I get the straw thing, but that seems small compared to all the packaging trash from those things, not to mention Amazon.

I'm surprised Disney would be at all in favor of that Gooding's being demolished. It's the only store in the region that makes the grocery prices in Disney's trading posts and resort gift shops look reasonable.
