  1. When we were there, we used our bikes, instead of renting a golf cart. It worked great for us! We don't have a light on our bikes, but we will before we take them to the fort again. We realized that we would end up needing a light, so carried our flashlights to the Magic Kingdom with us, so we'd have a light for the bike ride back to the site, that night.
  2. Good to hear that it's worth the trip, because we're headed there now, from Braselton!
  3. Kenneth doesn't read these trip reports. Sometimes, when I read yours, they make me laugh out loud (really loud). I have to read certain parts of your trip report (and show pictures) when this happens, because he's wondering what the heck is so funny!
  4. I agree about having time to spend at the Fort! I've only stayed once, but really did regret not having enough time set aside to really enjoy the Fort.
  5. We did go! We went Saturday - we got there right at 2:00. We parked at Wilderness Lodge and took the boat over to the Fort. Afterwards, we walked back to Wilderness Lodge.
  6. We walked from trail's end to wilderness lodge the other day! It took about 15 minutes to walk between the two.
  7. Those videos of the Fort have me thinking that we need to visit this weekend. I'm trying to talk Kenneth into heading over for lunch today. And then we can find some rocking chairs and just soak up some of that atmosphere.
  8. Please come over to the Fort and visit all the Wild Womenz!! There will be lots of us there in about 4 sites in the full hookup loops Sounds good....we might try to head over and find y'all.....if we don't see you, we hope you have a good time!
  9. You won't be disappointed. I was passing my plate around the table, making everyone try it!
  10. Braised pork - this was at lunch. It was so good. I plan on ordering this next Friday, at lunch!
  11. It took us a while to get packed up to head home. There were some parts of the tent that were wet, so we wiped it all down and got it in the sun. After we got everything in the truck, we headed over to Best Friends to get the pups. They slept most of the way home. Our plan was to head back to the Fort in January 2014. We waited too long to try to get a campsite and couldn't get the whole week. We didn't want to risk making more than one reservation and having to move to a different site halfway through, because that would be a pain with a tent. I've since learned from some of y'all abou
  12. Sometime, we had dinner at Olivia's at the Old Key West resort. We had some crab cakes to share and then Kenneth had the Cuban sandwich and I had chicken with rice and asparagus.
  13. I have been a total slacker! I started this trip report and never even finished it. I don't remember too many more details from this trip. I do remember the big storm that TCD mentioned. We were at an RV dealership about 20 miles from the Fort, looking at Roadtrek motor homes. Kenneth had read a lot about these and really wanted to see one in person. I don't think there's really anywhere close to home, that sells these. Same with Airstreams (my love) - we usually look at them, whenever we vacation in Florida. It was looking pretty bad, the closer we got to the dealership. We got there
  14. Cool! Another DVC owner! Kenneth wants to go back to the Rose and Crown next week. I may be having that burger again!
  15. I wasn't really that into the movie, but it looks like it could be pretty neat (if done right).
  16. Thanks for the heads up! Shared on Facebook, also.
