  1. I have a question about the free cupcake at Sprinkles. How do you get it? I signed up for their perks program, but haven't gotten an e-mail or a free cupcake show up in my account. I saw something on Facebook about it and all they said was to sign up for the perks program. Looking forward to more of the trip report!
  2. Yeah, it seems like there's a lot to that recipe. My mom used to make pork shu-mai when I was a kid and I don't think there was much to it. In fact, I wonder if I have the recipe for it somewhere. I need to look and see if I can make hers one day!
  3. Happy birthday, twins! I'm glad you're showing so much of Disney Springs. We're heading down towards the end of this month and plan on spending a good bit of time exploring there. We don't have park tickets and we're going to try to convince Kenneth's mother to go with us - we thought we'd show her some of the stuff we like to do when we don't go to the parks. Hopefully we can make it over to the Fort to show her our favorite Disney resort!
  4. Lol. At first I thought that said SINNERS at Epcot, and I thought "if there's any there, of course it's at EPCOT"!
  5. Loving your report so far! I'm dying to head back out there. Another great resource for Disneyland info is dlrprepschool.com. I follow her on Facebook - she heads to the parks at least a couple of times a week and shares lots of tips and posts pictures of new merchandise in the parks.
  6. Oh, no! My dad claims it's not as good as it used to be. I hope they didn't mess with any of the recipes - I used to love me a beacon burger!
  7. Dang it! Here I go again with the multiple posts!
  8. My dad used to go to the Beacon almost every day when he was in high school. After he moved away, served in the navy, and started a family, he started taking us up there (he still had a sister in SC that we would visit). The owner always remembered him and would send us home with a pie. I was always scared to order for myself. I didn't think I could "call it" the right way. I haven't been in a long time and don't even know how they take orders now. Do they still have someone call out the orders to the kitchen?
  9. Looks like a great trip already! Can't wait to see the rest!
  10. Loving the report so far! Carol, that's awesome that lady was talking about your camper!
  11. That's the first time I've heard of furries. That article was funny - their numbers are growing because they're getting married and having families! I wish I had a trip planned to the fort. We're taking time off from Disney this year, but I'm hoping to go back to the fort in February. We're trying to talk some friends into going with us. They think it's crazy how expensive the fort is. We tried a campground up this way and I'm definitely willing to pay more to stay at the fort now.
  12. Yay! Glad to see a trip report from you! I don't make it over here enough, but I'm glad to see you're back! And good job on signing up for the half marathon. I wish you luck on that!
  13. We have been really looking at the Lance trailers also. We have a dealership nearby that has t@bs, airstreams, and Lance. We were really contemplating a small airstream, but they're just SO expensive! But I am so in love with them (mostly just love the way they look, but I'm sure it would last us forever). The Lance trailers are very well-built and they're super spacious. And for being a fairly small TT, they have huge water tanks (45 fresh, 45 black, 45 grey) - that's a big selling point for me. It seems like a lot of the state park campgrounds around here don't have sewage at the sites
  14. We've been looking at pop-ups and A-liners a lot lately. I think we're leaning more towards a travel trailer at this point, even though that means we would have to pay for storage. The original reasons for looking at the A-frames were for 1) storing it in our garage, 2) it beats being in a tent during a storm 3) we could actually camp in the summer and probably be really comfortable. We looked at an A-liner the other day that had a hard-sided dormer on one end (where the bathroom was) and it was unbelievable how much bigger it made it feel. We're not close to doing anything yet and are alw
  15. Here's the pups at our campsite: Inside the tent, Buzz just wants to nap: And Dakota just wants to play with her toy:
  16. Glad you had a great trip! We were there the same time and Kenneth caught a bad cold while we were there. I wonder if you got the same one from Disney?
  17. I agree! Even in the tent, I enjoy waking up when it's chilly out. Enjoying your report! Looking forward to more!
  18. We are tent campers who take our dogs on vacation with us. We book full hook up sites, just so we could bring the pups over to the site to visit. They board at Best Friends and we'll occasionally check them out and bring them to the tent to hang out. Last week, we had them stay with us the last night because we didn't plan on leaving our site that evening (we usually start breaking down camp the night before). I wouldn't ever think of putting them in a kennel, in the tent, while we're away. Not only can it get hot in the tent pretty quickly, but I'm afraid someone might steal my pups. Th
