  1. My best friend was like that with any kind of boat. So much so that we had to give her Xanax to get her on the ship we took to the Bahamas one time. Finally convinced her to go on a cruise for my grandparents 60th anniversary, she really didn't want to go but wanted to be there for my grandparents. Well that's all it took now she goes on at least one cruise a year, she's hooked!
  2. https://www.abcactionnews.com/news/national/is-it-truly-warmer-in-anchorage-than-florida- Warmer in Anchorage than Jacksonville on Tuesday? Those two should never be compared!
  3. Hey that's better than the One Particular Island community they are building down here. Starting in the "high 400s" for 1400-1600 sqft 2 or 3 bedroom condos. Although probably would come out to be the same, but a lot less amenities here.
  4. My grandmother did a similar thing going onto a navy base in Norfolk VA, when they asked if we had any weapons she asked what they considered weapons jokingly. Which turned into a very thorough search of our car and all our bags. The bad part was she forgot she hadn't taken her gun out of her purse so we had to go back to where we were staying drop it off then go through the whole search again. She had a bad habit of forgetting to take it out of her purse when we would go places she couldn't carry it.
  5. But the big question is will the let you book just Sunday- Thursday?
  6. That's horrible, but what are you if the fire was out might as well go to the game.
  7. That's perfect, our high today is 55, and it's raining right now. That's how I'll look in a few minutes when I have to go outside. That's how I've looked for the last couple of days. Us native Floridians aren't accustomed to cold. Below 75 is chilly and below 70 just plain cold. Edited to add I have actually had to wear shoes and socks, which just doesn't happen unless it's cold or on rare occasions I have to dress up.
  8. I would be surprised if it wasn't already in the fine print somewhere before all this, that they could request/require entrance into your rv or hotel room at any time.
  9. Hasn't there always been a no firearms/weapons policy at the Fort and for that matter all Disney properties? Or at least for awhile now, they've just never asked about it before. The thing with asking people when they get to the Fort if the have a firearm is the people who are honest and have one for their protection will answer yes however if someone was actually going to use it or had bad intentions will simply answer no and drive on through. A full rv search and especially for a weapon would be impossible for Disney to do/keep up with. Them asking and it becoming know that they
  10. Haha yeah my grandfather bought that for us and proceeded to carry it through 2 buildings at the retirement home he lives at and to my mom's office to give it to her. Just imagine the looks he got then the executive director came in and had to ask if it was real. Haven't actually used them to start a fire yet but they make a good conversation piece.
  11. Wow that's just horrible! I mean I guess the dog was probably happier then being boarded somewhere but geez. I'd rather stay at the Fort with the dog. I can understand that, may have even been cheaper or broke even if they got good deals on their flights and depending on where they went. Compared to the cost of fuel, time and mileage to drive or take the RV.
  12. I've seen scooters on loop roads Kids riding scooters with and with out helmets Same with bikes. I don't know what the policy is or if there even is one for helmets on scooters at the Fort. But unless you get a ranger who is board or your kids are really cause a problem like blocking traffic or riding out in front of vehicles I don't think you'll have a problem with them riding in the loop. I'm not saying your kids would do this but it things I've seen before. The thing that would concern me the most is people driving golf carts or vehicles around the loops who may not be
  13. The squirrels also steal bananas (probably any food you might have around) right out of your bag sitting on your RV steps. I'm not sure about the peacocks at the Fort but we used or still might have some at the flea market here, they were pretty but would chase you down and we're very aggressive. There's a neighborhood out on longboat key that started with 2 in the 50s and in 2016 had 50+ out wild and breeding. They started to trap them a few years ago and try to relocate them because they were becoming such a nuisance.
  14. Adult hot chocolate flight, that sounds right up my alley!
  15. Yeah I looked at those mainly because I wanted something that would be easy to take in the trailer but didn't think it would keep up with us around the house.
  16. I have a bad habit of getting on here and reading but not always commenting. Also I seem to go through spells of commenting. Fort Fiends is my go to if I'm taking a break, waiting for something, in general trying to kill some time. There's been a lot of that happening lately with illness in my family but for as much as I check/read on here I haven't been much in the mood to post and unfortunately haven't been or done anything worth posting about. Hoping with the new year we'll be able to make it to the parks more and maybe get in a few camp trips around here. Like Yvonne I like r
  17. http://m.sears.com/whynter-12-pound-stainless-steel-built-in-ice/p-011V001898796000P We got one of these awhile back on a really good sale and with points from Sears. The plan was/is to hook it up in the garage because we go through more ice then the ice maker in the fridge can keep up with. It's big and heavy to travel with all the time but if we were going to be somewhere for a week or more I'd probably take it. I have it set up to work with a regular rv water hose/garden hose and filter. It freezes the ice and keeps it frozen like a regular ice maker in your freezer.
  18. Was cool enough for a fire tonight. Don't judge the fake log Sent from my XT1650 using Tapatalk
  19. Could be on a cruise, although I would have emptied my fridge and moved it out to the overflow lot. But if you have the money to leave it on a site. Could also be people wintering who went somewhere for the holidays but wanted to keep their same site.
  20. I enjoy the nighttime extra magic hours especially at the MK when we are at the Fort. Mostly because I'm a night owl, I usually just end up wandering around, maybe catch a ride here or there if the lines are reasonable, and enjoy the park with a few less people and not as hot.
