  1. Ohhh....looks awesome!! I especially love the ceiling. Girls are adorable :) Knotts Berry Farm...great memories for me there :)
  2. :bellringer: I agree Gwen! Even after coming home sick (from the heat)...I'd still take sweating over freezing. So, no worries Jen, I think that I may actually be the freak of nature :)
  3. The only thing we like about the tent/pop-up sites.. is yes, it saves us a few dollars, but as long as we get the 1500 loop, then the location is not bad. If we don't do that loop...then we bump up to the preferred as we like being close to the boat/beach. This time around, the trip was a "bonus" short trip...so we were only there for a few days which meant using our sink, shower and commode was not an issue...we simply found an empty site on our way out and emptied the tanks. Took an extra 45 minutes, but it was worth the savings for this nice little bonus trip :)
  4. Thank you! That is good advice, thank you. We've driven down a couple of times now, so I know to use the larger truck stops for gas...but (if I decided to come down early) I will practice backing up before driving down. I would imagine that I could actually back it up, but I don't know how one can back a trailer into a spot...without someone else helping to guide them in as there are too many blind spots. Tom is actually pretty good at it, I would say that he can do 80% of it without me...but he still needs that extra set of eyes to make it a really good fit.
  5. Spoken like a true fiend...who just wants to bring out his lawn chair to sit and watch me back up. And when I say "back up", I actually mean take out the front post, trash can, recycling bins and oh yeah...several small bushes. I think I'll ask Judy for help instead
  6. Will any fiends be at the Fort, the 7th or 8th of October? I may drive down with the kids and have Tom fly in that Friday... if so, I will need help backing the camper into our spot (hopefully in the 100 loop). I think I can hook it up, once it's backed in... but I know that I cannot back it in on my own.
  7. Great info (except the 1400 loop, 2015...really??) The gator, wow. I've always wondered if there were any around at the Fort; guess there are! :dropjaw:
  8. Okay... this is AWESOME! Super excited to watch the progress!! Joining the other fiends and cheering you on!! :thewave1:
  9. Welcome! Like many fiends, and yourself, we too have little ones (our son is 2.5 and our daughter is 7). Our daughter has been to WDW 11 times and our son just experienced his 7th trip... you all will have a GREAT time! :jumpforjoy I'll jump in and agree with the others in saying...right now, it is VERY hot there. Lots, lots and again LOTS of water is super important. Naps in the afternoon (in your trailer with the a/c on) really are a must. The pool...our experience is that it was actually better around 10a as any later and the sun had warmed the water up to bath temperature (not exac
  10. Just got back from a 4 night visit... we have a 23' hybrid (I think it's around 26' with the back bunk opened) and stayed in the 1500 loop with no problems. Missed the sewer hook-up, but the size of our pad worked fine for both our camper and our truck (plus a 12x12 awning out back).
  11. I don't think you're cranky then. If your kid is not playing with them and heck...if you're not even at your site...then they are definitely over-stepping. I agree with TCD, I don't understand (most) parents these days and the lack of supervision. When we were at the Fort in May, the kids next to us were ages 7 and 9 and their folks let them ride their scooters not only away from their site in the 100 loop but down to the playground and beach by themselves. I had to explain to Bailey that I would not let her do that....too many stories about children (even older kids) and people snatching
  12. Guess it would depend if Z is playing with them; if he's not... then I do NOT think it's rude to ask them to walk around your site (I mean, the road is. right. there.). BTW, nice site! Shady Grove?
  13. IT IS 4,284 degrees there right now! It's been YEARS since we've been to WDW during the summer; after this trip last week, we remembered why...super, SUPER hot. I mean, you know it's hot, when the pool feels like you're in bath water Magical but dang...drink lots and LOTS of water (I came home sick...but am now thinking that I am dehydrated).
  14. Yep, 1400 was closed when we were there yesterday. For a while, the 1300 loop looked to be closed last week...but that opened back up before we left.
  15. That's not even funny...drove the 2000 loop this past week during our stay. I now understand all the complaints.
  16. Your rig may be there...but you weren't We tried twice during our stay this week...but you were out enjoying the magic. How dare you :)
  17. Good point. Wonder if pulling over, applies to the pony cart as well. The CM who was exercising the ponies (not the friendliest of gals, BTW)...mercy that thing moves slow. Which I get, I mean, they are ponies...but I finally went around them in my cart. And even though I understand that you can't actually "pull a wagon over", maybe she could try and not drive it in the middle of the road? Heck, you know the wagon is going slow when a golf cart looks like a race car passing it :)
  18. My goodness...wow. We're driving home now with our little hybrid in tow and I am freaking out with every little sound! So sorry you had those awful rough spots but (in between) it looks like you had a lot of fun. Love all of your pictures. ...especially the surfing!
  19. Those are the same people that pack 4 cars and 6 tents onto one site....then each of them takes a 20 minute shower while the rest of us stand there waiting... Just do us a favor Lou and run them off the road next time.
  20. Thanks Todd. Plans have actually changed and we cancelled PF to go to the Fort this weekend :) We'll hit PF, next year.
  21. Wow...okay, late to join, but excited to be here! :) Love the pineapple plant! It's been said before, but hey...it's true, your girls are adorable.
