Thank you for reminding me of this place!  We're heading out for the SW, at the end of April.  We may need to take this one on, at the end of our trip!  :)

Good to know!!  Might be why it's #1
I am super excited!!  I've wanted to see Zion, for a few years now.  We're actually giving up two of the trips we planned to the Fort next year (we still have two left, lol) to make this trek.  After visiting a couple NPs earlier this year, I've been reminded just how much I love being out there.  Growing up, I was in the mountains a lot.  Our youngest will be 6 (gulp!) in a few weeks...so he's finally getting big enough to handle a few hikes.  Plus with Tom's bad back, I don't feel as guilty, leaving them back at the CG if I want to hike on my own

Yes, they were lucky.  The pictures from TX are jaw dropping.
Continuing to pray for the recovery in TX.

Good to know about that CB, we almost stayed there in November, but I decided that I wanted power, so we continued on to Casey Jones.  We typically stay at the CB in Gainesville and have never had an issue, but CB is not as well lit as a Walmart or truck stop...so I can see a definite value in those.

Ironically, I had this same conversation with another RV owner earlier this week; he had experience vandalism to his unit, at an overnight stop ?

Posted at 7am EST, on Disney's (Fort Wilderness) FB page:

    DISNEY RESORTS
All Disney Resorts have begun normal operation, with the exception of Fort Wilderness Campground and Disney's Saratoga Springs Treehouse Villas.
We anticipate that Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground will reopen next week, but it remains closed at this time as we clean up the property following the storm. We encourage guests to revisit this page for the latest updates and information.
To allow Disney’s Fort Wilderness to prepare the property after Hurricane Irma, all shows at The Hoop Dee Doo Musical Revue and Mickey’s Backyard BBQ will be canceled up to and including Sunday, September 17. Any existing reservations will be automatically canceled and refunded.
For more information, review frequently asked questions regarding our hurricane policy.
For assistance with your Walt Disney World visit, please call (407) 939-5277.
7:00 AM to 11:00 PM Eastern Time. Guests under 18 years of age must have parent or guardian permission to call.

Ahh...I think I missed you selling your trailer.  Sorry to hear that.  Hopefully another will be in your future, sooner rather than later
I always think this will Chick-fil-A.  Rarely do I see one of their locations, that is not busy....if not, SUPER, busy.  Rarely to I walk into one of their locations where the store is not clean and the staff is not incredibly kind.  I try to send them comments from time to time, encouraging them not to change.  Sure, it costs more than other fast-food establishments, but the quality is also so much higher.  The same with Hobby Lobby.  Clean stores.  Nice staff.  Good prices.  Both of these companies are such great examples, of how a company should be ran.  Disney use to be there... but they are sliding

I don't know the man and have not followed his career or time there in Florida however, I cannot imagine that the job of governing millions is easy.  I can't imagine that governing a state, while anticipating a potentially catastrophic event, is one that you get a whole heck of lot of training on.  You cannot control the actions of others, no matter how hard you may try, you cannot control how those in your state will react, no matter how many projections are made.  If you think that it's ridiculous that the gas stations are out of gas and the stores have no water, I trust that you've already gassed up and are well stocked just in case the storm does come your way.  I pray it does not.
Those (citizens) that have to stay, have to stay.  But if we lived there and could go, we would go.
Is he an idiot?  Maybe, I have no idea.  And while he may, in fact, be covering his butt in an attempt to secure a reelection, it's also possible that he's just trying to figure out the best way to save lives.
But, the job is always open... make a run for it.  Handle the next major storm, differently.
Until then, I'll continue to pray that the storm pushes out to sea and that lives and property are spared.

Thank you.  So... you didn't feel that the movie pushed/encouraged having a bad attitude or a reliance on technology over personal relationships?  The link above cleared up the question I had on possible swear words (read a couple of reviews that mentioned frustration with that).

In the land of "no real rules apply"?
Yeah.. my guess is IF they apply it to The Fort, the chance of them enforcing it will be next to none.  I mean please... with the locals bringing in 5 families per site...?  Yeah, I really doubt it.

Yes, the space is really nice!  Yep, this one was at the top of my length limit.  I really didn't want to go over 40'.  We saw a couple others that we really liked, but they were 42-43 feet (plus heavier).  I had to draw the line somewhere ☺

I've found, it's how you express frustration that (sometimes) yields the best results.  Simply walking up to the front desk or calling the 800# is (simply put) lazy and typically results in small results.  However, if you/we actually take the time to put pen to paper and send a letter (registered or priority mail) to the corporate office, this sets your comments apart. Also, when I write, I remind them of my goal:  not to complain, but to keep Disney the magical experience we all love.  Their job is NOT an easy one.  Look what they have to work with.  So many people anymore, show no respect for others or private property.  The air of disregard and entitlement through out Disney, is both obvious and pungent. Complaining to the front desk, might get you a free night, but no real changes.  Taking the time to express both your passion/appreciation for Walt and his dream, as well as pass along your frustrations, in the form of a written letter might produce actual changes and true results.  No guarantees, but for those of us who have been in an upper managment position ask yourself... if you were sitting in that office and you were the one who had the ability to made some actual changes, what would make the greatest impact on you?  Hearing from your staff that guests are complaining (I mean, are they really complaining?  Are the complaints justified or is it just another adult with the "world owes me" attitude wanting a free night).  As I said, I think theirs is a hard job.  It's an uphill battle that requires both discipline and encouragement.  They have to babysit their staff and the public, more than ever before... I imagine it's exhausting.

Couch is made into a bed, for our son.  During the day (if it's bad weather) there is room for him to play and there is a second tv in there, which the kids found fun for a morning video :)
