twiceblessed....nacole got a reaction from mouseketab.....Carol in Cub Scout Pack first week in February
Which isn't good... but I get why they do it. Unless a group rents out an entire loop (for example all of 1500), I wish they wouldn't allow it. Of course, how do you actually prevent it, except to limit the number of people (and tents) per site to a lower number? I don't know that Disney has ever enforced a per number/site rule. They may have one, but I don't know that they have every enforced it...which stinks if you happen to be neighbors with a loud group

It's always so frustrating watching that happen. I get that parents need to relax, but we've been at the playground for 45 minutes and watched parents not look up from their phones the entire time. Not only can your child get hurt, or hurt someone/damage something, but you miss the simple things... and those are often times, the most amazing moments. You can't get them back: those moments. The chance to catch up on emails or post something to FB... yeah, probably another chance there.

Maybe I shouldn't admit this... but the Mickey Bars and beer are one of the reasons we go to the BBQ

We've caught this moving ceremony a few times...it's beautiful. Thank you for sharing the details.
Thank you for your service Ray...

twiceblessed....nacole got a reaction from djsamuel in ST or LT
We got home after dark last night, so I haven't checked them since the campground...but (at that point) the others did not have this "shredded" area, but the tread was worn. This particular tire, had a strange worn area (the area by the shredded section was worn all the way down). We have a TPMS and I treat and cover these tires... so, who knows.
There is a chance we'll switch to a 5th wheel (yes, y'all told me we would) in the next year or so...so I think we'll save a few bucks and not move up in size, but we will be replacing all 4 tires (probably with Maxxis brand).

twiceblessed....nacole got a reaction from Avatab.... Steve in Stopping place north of the Fort on 75
I'll post a couple of pictures next week...but quick update to say that the location was great, staff was very nice, and the place itself was decent except:
- lots of red ants
- power post too low to the ground, so you cannot use a surge protector
- sites are VERY close together and the roads are really narrow however...there some large 5ers were in there, so I know it's possible. I didn't even bother to open our slide and the sites on either side of us were empty, so it wasn't a big issue for us (plus, we only have a 32'TT ☺️).
- truck stop right next to the CG, so depending where you are on property....it can be a little noisy.
I do think we would consider staying there again as access to the Pilot station and the turnpike, plus only an hour from The Fort...that's tough to beat. Our favorite is still overnight parking at the Cracker Barrel in Gainesville☺️ Go Gators!!

twiceblessed....nacole got a reaction from djsamuel in Hawaii? Which island to explore?
Growing up in the PNW, I've been blessed with 8 or 9 trips to the islands. I've been to 3 of the major: Oahu, Maui and Kauai. My folks and several friends have been to the Big Island: they loved the black sand and the volcanoes. My thoughts are:
Oahu: You have to do it. Too much there, to not spend a few days on the island. Is it a tourist trap? Yep, you bet. In certain areas that's specifically what it is...but asK a few locals and you might be surprised with the gems they share with you. There are some truly beautiful, magical parts to the island. Really is a can't miss.
Maui: Yuppie. Yes, some laid back areas...and it is the first place that I learned to yell "ALOHA" (you have to draw it out ), but the island still has a yuppie feel to it, to me. The road to Hana is breathtaking (IF you don't get car sick). Make sure you swim in pools/waterfalls.
Kauai: My favorite. For me, that island felt like what I always thought Hawaii would be. You really feel the spirit of Ohana on that island. There use to be an ordinance (it may still be that way) that limited buildings to two stories (I believe the saying was no taller than a palm tree); so you'll find no huge resorts or buildings there like you will in Waikiki or Honolulu. If I remember correctly, they filmed some scenes from Jurassic Park (first one I think) on the island.
However you do it... you really can't go wrong with a visit to the islands. Enjoy and.... ALOHA!!

Super cute pic on the MT.

Availability showing online... 10/30 - 11/1. $59/night
We have a 32TT... wonder if we could fit in there? Funny thing is, Disney's site says: " Accommodates equipment up to 10 feet by 60 feet"
Our TT could fit in that :)

Thanks again for the help this morning (big thanks to Mike too?). Love that we're next to you...hopefully the kids aren't too much. They had so much fun looping with y'all tonight (we all enjoyed that!?). Thanks for watching Simon...no doubt he preferred that over his crate. Crazy, neurotic one that he is ☺️
How do I get one of these??

twiceblessed....nacole got a reaction from parrothead7368 aka Norm in Finding free places to overnight in your RV.
Hmmm...that surprising. My guess is it's a recent acquisition and they don't know the CW "way" yet ?
We enjoy CB as we like eating breakfast there...but we've learned that not all allow overnight parking. Dothan, AL for example does not, but I believe the reason is because they had some theft/vandalism issues so they thought it best to stop it. I've called several others in different states as those ones have said yes, so I do think that most allow it...for now.

twiceblessed....nacole got a reaction from Beckers in Savannah - SHOULD WE STAY OR SHOULD WE GO?
Thank you. Yes, it did. They were able to push our reservations to October.... I called probably 15 places in TN, all were booked. I then tried Topsail off Destin in FL and they had a spot. I called the office and was told that the storm missed their CG and beach completely so.. yay! At least we'll be camping this weekend :)

twiceblessed....nacole got a reaction from arthuruscg in What are your driving limits per day?
Mercy Gwen... tell David you're stopping for two nights or he can drive there/back himself and you'll fly. Period.

twiceblessed....nacole got a reaction from John in River Country professional photographer photos
Okay... so I'm a bit of a youtube junkie (which means Doug, if you ever start a channel watch out as I'll stalk y'all ). The other night some channel came across my feed (I didn't search for it); it was of this girl (I'm guessing early 20's?) that has been banned from WDW because she scaled a fence and took some behind the scenes video of RC. I didn't watch all of her video because (quite truthfully) I didn't really care... but this thread reminded me of that youtube video and the girl that is banned (although, I think they remove the ban...if she took down the video).
BTW... I went through and looked at those pics again and, is it strange that I find some of them VERY pretty? Odd and eerie in a way... but also some really pretty shots.

twiceblessed....nacole got a reaction from Dogdiver in At The Fort....diesel mechanic needed
Okay... wasn't the same part (of course). Local Ford dealer charged up $95 to simply read the error code (can't tell you have mad that makes me) and the truck needs another repair (don't remember the part), also part of the who EGR things. Cost is in the $900s. So... we paid $1100 (plus rental car) in FL, $95 to have the stinkin' error code read and now another $900+ is needed for this repair. The regen mode has not worked properly on this truck since we bought it, so Tom is concerned that the filter is next and that is a $2800 repair!
He's decided to rip it all out...which really stinks as the money we've spent thus far, is simply thrown at the window. I am exhausted from the frustration/expense of all of this...

twiceblessed....nacole got a reaction from GaDawgFan.....Kelly in Raccoon Mountain RV Park in Chattanooga, TN
I would stay there again as there's not a lot available around Chattanooga. They do not assign spots, which I don't care for. Additionally, when we arrived the campground was 80% empty however, they did not want to let me move from the site they had "assigned" me as she explained that the others were assigned to guests coming in (never once was the campground more than 75% when we were there). The gal at the office could not seem to understand moving us from spot #133, into spot #165 (for example) and then the guest from #165 into our spot (again... they were not fully occupied). Thankfully, they have a few spots that they leave open for quick overnight stops as they are more narrow than the others, but we gladly took one of those as it was shaded.
