  1. Who's in for opening weekend of F&W? We're headed down for the 3 day weekend. I'm jonesing for some small plates.
  2. Found this on YouTube. Bob Gurr speaks at 12:10. I would love to take this tour.
  3. Great job with that one. That makes me want to go back to topsail.
  4. I think the new F450 is essentially a rebadged tow boss package. Years ago the F450 truck had more differences. Now it is essentially wide track front end, larger rear axle shafts and bearings, larger brakes, a 4.30 gearset, and 19.5 tires.
  5. Ok I am going to wrap this one up. Sunday was a travel home day, but we wanted to get in a little more fun before heading home. We wanted to get in a FoP ride. So we rope dropped AK. The park was opening at 9 this morning. We rolled through the gate at 745. We went through security fairly quickly and got a spot in line. We were probably 20' back from the scanners. About 830 they started letting people through. We walked and pushed the chair as quickly as traffic would allow toward Pandora. The had a rope pulled at the bridge. We were right past the Nomad Lounge entrance when we came to a
  6. Wow. That was an epic trip. I'm sure that made a big impact on the kids. It did when I was a kid.
  7. Buy used. Your first rv is never the right rv. Plus buying used can save you the heartache of the 1st year of problems that most rv's have.
  8. Moving on to Saturday evening. We headed to MK. We entered about 6 pm and again the crowds were not terrible. We headed straight to PoTC. This was our first trip since the refurb. I noticed that the first beach scene was changed. No more mermaid skeleton or mermaids in the water. Also the initial projection in the fog curtain wasn't playing. Does anyone know if it is permanently gone or what? After PoTC we took a break at Pecos Bill's for some dinner. I used the mobile ordering again and skipped a decent sized line. I'm liking the mobile ordering. I had the fajita platter. It was decent..
  9. Oh yeah, we like the wildflower cafe. We didn't eat there this time, but it is very good.
  10. We stayed 2 nights this weekend at DSP. I arrived with 2 of the 3 kids on Friday about 330. The site we had was not a great one since it was sloped, but I did reserve it the day before. Some planning would have helped. I didn't drag out every camping toy (just chairs, grill, ENO hammock and chairs) so set up was fairly quick. The wife and oldest daughter arrived about 6pm. I grilled up some of Wal-Mart's finest burgers that evening. The kids and I went looping on foot, then we all just chilled the rest of the evening. On Saturday we drove to Mentone and did a little shopping. I bou
  11. Thank you. It was better than staying at home, for sure.
  12. It is well done. I'm not one to wait in line, but I'd wait 30 or so for this one.
  13. Moving on to Saturday...we had FP's for MK that evening. So we headed over to HS for rope drop (rope drop for non Disney guests). I figured since extra magic hours were that morning that we would not have much luck riding Slinky Dog, but we were going to give it a shot. We got in line about 730 and were not too far back. They did not have an AP line open. They started letting people in at 8, and we probably scanned through about 810. We walked briskly all of the way back to Slinky Dog and went right into the covered portion of the queue. We probably waited 20 minutes total. Everyone of us like
  14. We are rope dropping fools Thanks None that I've met are....
  15. Moving on... We chilled at the house for a while to let the kids rest plus my wife needed some time to rest her back. Later that evening we loaded up and headed back to AK. I had a ADR for Rain Forest. We arrived about 15 minutes before our ADR, but we were seated quickly. Dinner was typical Rain Forest. I always get the pastalaya, which is pretty dang good considering. My wife had a big appetizer platter. The only thing that annoyed me was being charged $17 for 1 margarita. I had to buy a collector cup. They didn't mention this when I ordered nor would they take it off of the bill. Also
  16. Its a lot of driving, but it seems worth it when we finally arrive.
  17. A few years ago I talked the wife into a quick trip staying at All Stars. She always get grossed out in hotels. Dragging our bags we walked past a room with 3 big Honda generators outside and huge power cables running into the sealed up door. They were treating for bed bugs. She wasn't happy lol and immediately disassembled our room looking for bed bugs.
  18. If a kid is too short they hand out a card that gets you and your family in the FP line when they finally meet the mark. FoP was already 120+ when we were in. We have ridden it several times, but Bode hadn't. I did store it when we had 3 consecutive trips in 2017. My inlaws live a few miles north of MK now. It is about a 5-10 minute drive. They live in the new Hamlin development just north of Summerlake. The new truck is quite fine. More to come...
  19. shoot posted in the wrong forum...mods please move
  20. I have not done a TR in a long time, so here is a quick little TR for our short trip. I decided to buy AP's again this year as we have a week at Thanksgiving reserved and a week at Spring Break and we probably will sneak in another summer trip next year. We have not taken a vacation this summer other than a few day trips to the Smokies. My wife just started a new job was unsure that she could take a Friday off, but luck was on her side and she got the day. So I loaded up the new truck on Thursday morning, picked her up at 4pm, and we were southbound at 4:05. It was a pretty uneventful tri
  21. I've been thinking about lining my wheel wells with 1/8" plate. I think you've convinced me to do so.
  22. It helps that the economy is strong and people have some disposable income again. Disney lucked out with the timing of the opening and a rebound in consumer spending.
