  1. We were there in 99 or 2000 and they had one. They were swimming in the lake to the beach and running to get their bikes in the grass by the windmill.
  2. They had a 5k or something last week through the Fort. It was really early in the morning. I saw a few people finishing up. They had their number bibs on and there was arrows taped along the sidewalks.
  3. I think the vegetation has reclaimed it.
  4. Those should be banned....along with wagons.
  5. It is being posted in the Disney Campers FB group. We could have claimed while we were there but I didn't bring any wood. BTW, I saw plenty of open top pits being used.
  6. I have a lot of LEO friends and family, including several state troopers. I've asked those that are on the road if they have ever stopped an RV or camper to check the weight. All say that unless you're obviously way overloaded or have items unsecured that they don't give it a second look. Now if you have a logo on your truck and pulling a deck trailer or something you'll have a lot more scrutiny. I don't see much chance of a scenario where I'm on the scales with my rig.
  7. I caught a glimpse inside the lobby the other night. Some people were entering when we walked by. It looked very posh.
  8. I CAT scaled the rig today. Gross combined without any passengers and full fuel was 25,700 lbs. Well below the 41,700 rating Gross vehicle weight was 12,960 lbs. Max is 14,000 lbs. The 450 pickup is limited only on paper for its gvwr....as to not put it in medium duty territory. Add approximately 700lbs to each number to account for 5 people in the truck. Empty weight of the truck is 9,188 lbs. So the pin weight and hitch adds 3,772 lbs. The trailer axles came in at 12,740 lbs. So approximating 3,500 for the pin...it puts the camper at 16,240 lbs with
  9. Great pics! We rode FoP today. The wait time on the app was 210 minutes. Luckily, we had FP's. When we were exiting we got behind some people who had bailed on the standby line. They were irate....saying they had been in line for 4 hours and were going to get a refund.
  10. I'm updating this with my first really long tow report. We did the 550 mile trek to FW. The 450 performed flawlessly. I set the adaptive cruise on 68 to 70 and just let it work. A few times I did run 80 or so when passing started pissing me off lol. I can't get over how relaxed and easy it is to drive. All of the tech on the truck really enhances the experience. Pulling 17k lbs really seems like 8 or 10k. If you took the mirrors off you would forget that you were pulling. I think the 19.5" tires really help....stability is unbelievable. The computer had the average mpg at 10. Honestly, I wou
  11. Same here. We've been out and about and meeting up with family that live here. We went by your site earlier too. It's hard catching up. Everyone is on the go.
  12. I don't disagree, but there doesn't seem to be too many shanigans this holiday. I'm looping every loop each morning and night....except for the Wolf Pack I doubt there are 5 sites where things are out of hand. Caveat....i stay out of the 2000 loop. It is a combination of Mogadishu and Syria.
  13. Gwen, I've been by your site so many times. Either the car or the cart is gone each time.
  14. Are they going to search toyhaulers? I'm sneaking mine in as an emotional support cart
  15. There are lots of survey markers on Clementine's Beach, around the barn area, and the grass areas around the Settlement.
  16. Wait until people get a little frisky in one. 🤢
  17. The economy is strong. I know a lot of small business owners that are doing really well. A lot of people have disposable income. It's a big change from 9 years ago.
  18. It is packed this week, but the weather is perfect. Thanksgiving is one of my favorite times to visit. We are not killing ourselves in the parks...just hitting our FP's plus a few other things. We are just visiting the parks a few hours each time. Today we rope dropped MK for 2 hours then went back in the evening. It is crazy busy, but honestly I've seen worse here. Our issue now with the kids is we can only come when the kids are out of school. That puts us here the most busy times or we don't come.
  19. I can't see them closing the whole beach. I would mix up some drinks, grab some chairs, and head to the beach on the golf cart.
  20. I should have giddyupped today for lunch. We finished setting up the camper and headed to the pool snack bar. 2 personal pizzas, 1 wilderness dog, a wrap, and a pb&j.....$43.
