  1. Thanks, Dave. Marketing...yep. they should offer a normal bed for us that actually need to use the bed.
  2. The bed height on trucks these days is just stupid. My 5'er rides a little lower than some, but it is way too low to ride level on the new truck. I hitched up yesterday to test it. 9" nose high with 7" bed rail clearance. Now I was installing a flat bed anyway for hauling, but if not I would have a heck of time modifying the trailer to raise it. Plus the height is already close to 13'. I just dont understand why they design it so high. I'm 5'10" and the tailgate touches my shoulder. /rant
  3. Thanjs! Yeah, I follow him too. The turning radius is great. Honestly, without the turning radius I would have just bought a 350. There is really not much difference between them....basically gears, 19.5 wheels, and wide track front axle.
  4. I think you may be correct. My wife sure likes it. I'll be lucky to drive it a few days a week.
  5. I'll say this. Adaptive cruise on the superduty is a game changer. It is so relaxing. It will hold speed on any ascent or descent...even if it has to stand on the brakes or use the exhaust brake. I can't wait to tow with it.
  6. Yeah pretty much. Just got home from Indiana. Truck showed 15.1 mpg on the computer with mixed 2 lane, city, and freeway driving. I used a lot of surface roads to help break the motor in. Left with a full tank. 490 miles later pulled into the driveway with just over a 1/4 tank.
  7. Thanks! Yeah, I have had my an eye on one for a while now. Hopefully, it will live up to what I think it will be like. We are hoping to tour the southwest next summer. I knew my old truck would not be fully up to the task of towing those long mountain passes.
  8. If I didn't need a truck for business I would definitely go the route that you did. There are some deals out there. Thank you I am hoping it will be awesome. I haven't bought a brand new truck in 14 years. I'm a little excited.
  9. I'll let you know on Tuesday. I am heading to Indiana to pick it up.
  10. Pulled the trigger on a 2018 F450 Lariat Ultimate yesterday. It was a special order that didn't get purchased. It's loaded with everything that a platinum has except the sunroof. Can't wait to pull in the mountains now. The adaptive cruise, collision avoidance, and 6 cameras should make it much more enjoyable than our old TV.
  11. Drove through the Greenbrier campground a few weeks ago. I was really impressed. A ton of creek sites are available. https://www.smokymountaincamping.com/
  12. That's what I have always said too, but if I buy 100 points at Old Key West that's about $650 a year. Using 2018 points I could stay 4 to 6 nights in a studio for $650. I don't think that can be done staying at CR just paying cash. Am I missing something? Seems like a good deal to me. The last time I stayed at All Stars it was $120 a night.
  13. doubtful. Our first confirmed trip is Thanksgiving. We may do a long weekend or two in the summer.
  14. Doh....dang phone....LOVE the TR! Hopefully, no lice are involved
  15. Good info....thanks. Just to clarify I'm not really interested in DVC for FW stays now. Just thinking in the future it may be beneficial. My interest now is quick trips (2 or 3 nights) in a nicer resort without the hassle of pulling a camper. Looks like we will be AP holders for a while.
  16. I am thinking about buying a DVC membership (probably resale) for a couple of long weekend trips per year. My reasoning is the follows. 1. I don't want to pull the camper for a 2 night stay. 2. I have a free place to stay a few miles north of MK, but it doesn't compare to on property 3. I am over All Star's 4. Could a DVC be a good deal for FW if rates keep climbing?? 5. My girls could use it as they get older. Is this a dumb idea?
  17. I saw where they are going to be adding new blackout dates/restrictions to DL AP holders to help ease the crowds with the new stuff opening. I bet WDW AP's will follow suit. Boo!!!! http://www.latimes.com/business/la-fi-disneyland-passholders-20180604-story.html
  18. A good friend of mine just came back from Disney. He's a no nonsense type of guy, and he was really offended by the waitress at Prime Time. He didn't understand that's what they do there. I told him it's all part of the act. He still wasn't amused....lol
