Ate at the California Grill last week. Service was good, but the dinner was just OK. The menu has definitely changed and seems kind of disjointed - they've got the cedar plank salmon and bison steak now from Artist Point on the menu, and the rest of it seems like a collection of hits from other places. The bison steak was excellent, but my wife had a lobster and scallops dish that was way overseasoned and the flavors didn't seem to mesh well. No specials, either. Our friends had some sushi, which was excellent, but overall it seems to have dropped a notch.

We haven't eaten there since Brian Piasecki left, and I don't know who's running it now, but it just seemed off.

They seem to be much more lenient on the dress code, too...

We ate there in September, and I thought the same thing. We've been going multiple times a year for the past 5 years or so. I had the filet. It was good, but not as good as any other time. The side items were some small hashbrown things and slices of cold tomato. It did not work well with the filet. The flatbread and ravioli were good, though. Overall it was just not on the level we are accustomed to there. Also the service seemed less attentive. On our last visit I honestly contemplated not going back.

Agreed.  I saw a bunch of FB chatter on both sides - some saying essentially "stuff happens, you make the best of it" and some internet shouting "OMG THEY'D BE PAYING FOR MY TRIP INCLUDING AIRFARE"  (sigh)

I expect the latter are the same people that angrily demand "compensation" every time any little thing doesn't go as planned on their trip, whether is was in Disney's control or not.

I also expect that Disney did something for those people to make up for the situation, as they usually do.

If I had to witness (or had to myself) someone pooping in one of those bags then yeah they would owe me some stuff lol

  3. You should be good in just about any premium site given that the neighbors are not parked in the way. Our trailer is 43' and I don't stress over site selection too much. Sometimes the outside sites on the loop are easier to get backed in. I stopped requesting sites years ago. I just ask to see the book now when we check in. We stayed in 1117 last trip. It was super easy,

Oh man someone needs to take a thermometer!!!

There was another video I saw and the lady was saying how it was sooo breezy in there but when she was sitting you couldn’t see her hair moving, but when she stood up (which I think your aren’t supposed to do?) you could see the air was moving pretty good.

There's a video out there. Basically, if it is moving the inside temp matches ambient. When it stopped it heated up a few degrees in like 3 minutes. If you are in one while stopped on a hot sunny day without wind you are going to fry.

Been watching the video and reading reviews. They say as soon as it slows down or stops it’s instantly and oven 😬

But when it’s moving it’s not too bad.  There’s also emergency kit with water and snacks underneath one of the benches in case it gets stuck for half an hour or longer

They are gong to have a real problem if people are trapped for an hour or two in the middle of the summer snacks and water won't help much.

So Tim had to cancel too. I updated the first post. Is Everyone else still planning to be there? Now may be a good time to update how many will be in your group. You know for those pot luck over planners like me.

I will be there with my 2 teen daughters and possibly one of their friends.  My friend Kathy will be there with her husband, her son (13), her daughter and her daughter's husband.

We will be there Friday. I will probably roll in early with the rig, and the wife will be there later that evening with the kids. There will probably be 7 of us.
