Private Party on Clementine's Beach Saturday Night

Recommended Posts

So putting on a party for 8 million is a big deal? Hell, anybody could do that. I once put on a party for 30 in college for 8 bucks and some change. That, my friends, is epic.

Oops, double post.   I will say that Luke Bryan looks like Wil Wheaton.   Extra geek points if you know who Wil Wheaton is.

BTW, the TCD gang skipped the new Frozen fireworks tonight so I could stay back and report from the Fort. Stay tuned. TCD

I can do that. TCD

Started reading this thread last night, finished this morning. Still have to watch the videos. Thanks to all the Fiends who contributed. I'm amazed at all the info you dug up.  TCD & Mo should be working for the CIA.

Does Disney provide immediate, go to the head of the line access to people like the Luckows if they want to visit the parks & ride the rides?  Just wondering how far Disney would go if you have the money.

Anyone can pay for VIP tours and extras that essentially get you preferred access to all kinds of things.

There are some advertised to the public...

...and I'm sure if you have enough money, they'll create a special one just for you.  :)

No, because in most cases they don't get in line to begin with, it's a special entrance that bypasses the line.

Next time you're just about to board a ride, look for a door that is usually close to the CM loading the vehicles. That's probably the VIP entrance.

Because the Luckows bought out certain portions of the parks, there was no line.

Right.  They don't want regular guests who stand in lines for hours some times to see the CM's in plaid vests trotting people in with no wait at all.  Apparently, when you're super rich, even the FP lines are intolerable and beneath you.

I recently saw something like this go down at the Frozen sing-a-long in Hollywood Studios. They have the first few rows in the theater for those who paid $60 for the premium package, and they let those guests in first.  We were in the free seats a few rows behind, and could see that there were about 8 seats in the VIP section that were empty.  When one of the paying VIP guests tried to slide over to one of those seats, a CM showed up and told them to go back where they came from.  About one minute before the show, this family comes sauntering in with a plaid vest CM and takes those seats.  Nice.

I recall an incident like this several years ago at Test Track. DW & I were next in line to board a car, the car pulls up, but the gate doesn't open for us to board. Instead, a door on the other side of the track opens, a plaid vested cast member appears & escorts about half a dozen Asian looking folks onto the waiting car. At the time I thought maybe it was the handicapped entrance but that didn't explain the plaid vested CM.

In the army there was the old saying RHIP (rank has its privileges) but in this case it's WHIP (wealth has it privileges).

No not really scared the grand kids bad crying it was a mess to loud to late

I actually trained my little girl to like fire works from the time she was a baby. I would play the music to Wishes and Illumations often so when we took her to Disney she liked the music and the fireworks didn't bother her. Now she likes all fire works.

  • 2 weeks later...

Still cool ether way. Wish we would have been there. We checked in the following week.

Same here!  And we saw some of the remnants of the big bash during our first couple of days the following week.  I had skimmed this thread on the drive down to FL, so had a rough idea of what was going on.  Not a country music fan myself, but this dude is hot right now and I admit I was a little bummed to have just missed the chance to hear him live!  I know he was touring, too, because many of my FB friends had posted from some of his shows.  So he took a break from that to perform for these folks - WOW!

I, too am trying to get caught up from everything that I've missed around here…. but fear I never will…so my comments are VERY late!

This is something that I never knew went on at the Fort, or any resort, for that matter.  I knew celebs and wealthy guests did private things at parks, but this?  Mind blowing.  I am not very far from where this family lives - hmmm wonder if I might get on the guest list for their next epic adventure?  Nah.  I agree with many of you.  This is a disgusting display of how the filthy rich spend their spare change.  So much good could be done with this cash!

Another thing that occurred to me while reading this last month during our stay was that is HAD to be some kind of B.A.D. to have TCD lurking in the bushes by the barn, posting live ON A WEEKEND!

What remnants did you see?

From what I saw- they had everything completely cleaned up and back in place the next morning.  Except for the picnic tables, which had not yet been put back in the pavilion.

TCD

Yes - tables missing/out of place, and barricades I don't recall seeing before.  But, those may have been put in place some time in the past year, when my visits to the Fort were greatly reduced and I am not remembering things like that from one visit to the next.

It could also be that some of what I observed - I seem to recall some sort of equipment, too - had to do with the work being done on Pioneer Hall, not the LB concert.

In any case, I'm still baffled that an event like this happened at the Fort!  A good thing, though - they realize what a great place it is and shouldn't be messed with or changed in any way!

The image in my mind of you poking around with your camera trying to capture videos and photos is priceless.  You missed your calling.  You should've been a beat reporter for a newspaper!

And it's not the first time.  We've seen private parties on the beach a few times, and were there a couple of years ago when they had private fireworks for another party.  Those were amazing, although it sounds like these were even better.

Agreed!  And that was the image in my head all day as TCD was texting me photos and updates.  :rofl2:

For a long time I thought TCD was a writer of some sort. But he is not.

Sure, he is!

Well I guess he is a trip report writer so never mind.

Exactly…..and he has a knack for writing as so many of us "think"…which keeps us reading along!  I think he has been told more than once to publish a collection of his reports.
