mouseketab.....Carol 1,261 Posted September 19, 2015 Report Share Posted September 19, 2015 Last week I was in Virginia for work, then I was told I need to go down to Orlando for a meeting on Thursday and Friday, so off I go. I had way too much work to do to travel in the middle of the day, so I asked for the last flight home on Friday night. Well about 2:30 Friday, I decided I was working too hard, and packed up the computer and headed across Orlando on 417. (Our offices are all the way over by UCF in East Orlando). Now, since I hadn't planned any of this, I didn't have my AP or a single Magic Band with me, so how do I avoid the parking charge, plus I wasn't sure what I wanted to do, so I parked at Art of Animation, and took the first bus that came along. That bus just happened to be a Hollywood Studios bus. We got to the Studios quickly, but was really irritated. The bus driver would NOT open the door until she carefully explained that to return to the resort, everyone needed to go to Bus Stop #2 and gave out detailed directions on how to get there, grrrrr Anywho, first stop was guest services to get my AP reprinted, then in I went. First off, I saw the stage in front of GMR was gone. First time in 15+ years that this area was the way it was originally intended! Then I did some more wandering and see the front of the Animation Building Then I realized One Man's Dream was still open, so one last look! This was in the window where you used to be able to see Walt's office I also noticed that the model of the Multi-Plane camera was also gone. After leaving, I went to the Brown Derby outside seating terrace and had a bite. And that's it!! Headed back to Art of Animation, got to my car and headed for the airport. December is sooner than I thought they would open it. As for the One Man's Dream display, I think it's understood that it will be closing soon, but has Disney announced that it will be closing?
