AC in A2......Aaron 693
We have arrived back at the campsite and I still needed a required photo: The girls were going to take a nap.DS and I were going Fort Exploring. We did what we could in the short amount of time we were allowed. We needed to be back in about 90 minutes to pick up the girls and go swimming. We had to get going quickly. There were a couple requests on my Live TR, so we were headed to those places to get our "work" done. First, TCD's favorite site:As you can see, it was being put to use.Next, Dave wanted us to get a flick of the rope tree......only I could not locate it. There were people outside in all of the sites in that area.....and I only had 90 minutes, so I could not take the time to locate it and then possibly have to have a conversation with someone about what the heck I was doing.....so sorry Dave....we moved on.Next, we saw a work crew, putting in a pedestrian crossing sign at the entrance of the last loop on the left prior to getting to the path of awesomeness. When we first went by I snapped a photo and got the stink eye afterward from a male and female employee. They did not seem happy. So after checking the pics and realizing they weren't very good, I turned around and retook the photos:See the guy the arrow is pointing to? He is still not happy with me. Now what the heck did I ever do to that guy? Some people are just interested in large scale projects that require a zillion people. What can I say?Next we were back on the Path of Awesomeness:I had read on FF a bit prior to the trip that their was a bit of a discrepancy with the beach name. Was it Clementine Beach? Was it Clementine's Beach? I needed to check the sign to get the straight cheese:Moving on:Now for the place that I had to see for myself, even though it is repulsive. If you have a weak stomach, look away now:That was something I had to do. I did not find the panther. That would be something for a future trip.I noticed these. I think Stef and TCD both talked about these before. I like the half log benches:Photo Limit
AC in A2......Aaron 693
Next DS got his game on for about 5 minutes:Time for a new game:After tetherball we walked up by Pioneer Hall and I was able to send a pic to the soon to arrive WWW womenz to help ease their collective anxiety:It was plugged in and the rope lights were on so I assumed all was in working order. Then I noticed these for the second time this trip: Those benches suck more monkey butt than you can possibly imagine. How hard would it be to put some half-log benches there? They can't cost that much. Whatever. On the road again:DS's turn with the camera while daddy hits a couple loops and then heads to the Meadow/Meadows:Dave and Linda's home away from home:
AC in A2......Aaron 693
Can you hear the music bumping yet? In the distance I can hear, "Young man, there's no need to get down....."So while throwing up a little in my mouth, we are getting closer and closer to the pool party:YMCA!After enduring horrible music and eating a Mickey Ice Cream Sandwich, we headed back to the campsite to pick up the ladies to go swimming. ftwildernessguy 778
That female CM in the orange vest with the white hair used to work at the Kennel when there was one at the Fort. She was there for years and started working maintenance at the campground after they closed it. She was a nice lady and always remembered Mickey the Wonder Beagle. AC in A2......Aaron 693
A few pics from our swimming excursion:Tonight we were going to pack up the truck and hit the campfire and movie. After a quick dinner, we packed the truck and headed out.We were there for the sing-along:DD, "By Chip & Dale! See you next time!"We stayed and watched all of Alice in Wonderland....the classic version, not the whacked out Johnny Depp version."You. Who are you?I'm late. I'm late. For a very important update. Now, everyday to this point my DW has been getting up early to runaround the Fort while I stayed with the kiddies. In the morning, it would be my turn. I don't run anymore.I never ran just for fun anyway.I don't get it. To get to the goal line, next base, or basket......that I get.But not for the "joy" of running.So......in the morning, I will be using what's known as a golf cart to ride around the Fort. And why wait for the next update when I can start right now.I was up well before the crack of dawn and headed out.The campfire/movie area looks much different than it did last night:Photo Limit

AC in A2......Aaron 693
Squirrel!!!!Leaving the Meadows and headed here:Then on to the Settlement:I soon was back at our site for breakfast, showers, and finishing the packing. We had to turn in our cart and took the bus to the Meadows Trading Post, where DD bought the Doc McStuffins doctor's bag and Big Book of Boo-Boos. DS bought a WDW book that talks about the four parks. I bought a FW T-shirt and mug. DW was looking at a Fort shirt but they did not have her size, so we headed back to our site, packed the truck and left.I must go back to breakfast though. It was an innocent enough breakfast until DD accidentally spilled her bowl of milk and cereal onto the dinette cushion. Then daddy in all his infinite wisdom, cleaned it up and then tried to dry the cushion with DW's hair dryer. That was where the real damage was done. Yup.You guessed it.I burned a hole in the cushion. Not my cushion.Curt and Jody's cushion.Total Fail.So when I talked to Curt I told him to keep my deposit and use it to fix the cushion. Not my best work.Curt and Jody were great about it and are in the process of getting it fixed. I felt like an idiot. So we left for Bay Lake Tower........
AC in A2......Aaron 693
I have heard them called grinders, too.I was always under the impression that grinders required toasting. Is that not right? In doing a survey of friends and pop a squat will report back on my findings.LOLI hope I have not been using it wrong all these years......but then if I have been so has DW so I am okay.I think?Love the pre-dawn photos. So pretty.I love early morning and late night at the Fort.......late night at the MK, Epcot, and the Poly as well......but not as well as the Fort.

ftwildernessguy 778
I am not a grinder expert, I have just heard the term, so it could be that they must be toasted to earn that name. What does that kid have on his head in the pool? It looks like he had a few too many and was wearing his swimming suit on his head like a hat.
Big Kahuna aka John 71
Grinders do require toasting, and the dawn patrol photos are really nice.
