CCIntrigue...aka Gwen 547
Okay, I can't wait to see this parade! Although I'd still rather have the garland across Main Street at Christmastime.
Classact....Mike 17
We saw the parade yesterday and while I'm not a huge parade fan, it was indeed quite impressive. The costumes were over the top, and lime many others have noted, the dragon is awesome.

Beckers 1,136
Hey Dave (no, not you DIT). Do you know a CM named Frank Murphy? He was a parade sup, not positive if that is still his position. He posted pics from the train station as well. Just wondering if you may know him? (Which I realize there is probably like 0% of you knowing the 1 CM I know)

Lou... 3,118
This 14-1/2 minute of the entire parade shot by WDWMagic on opening day is very interesting. At 7:30 into it, if you look towards the far left, you'll see the TCD Twins sitting on the street and TCD standing behind them. One of the twins is wearing a white baseball cap. I'm standing behind TCD, but all you can see is my cap. At 7:39, you'll see TCD quickly put his hands up to block the sun. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=i_dgbSavttw BradyBzLyn...Mo
Tri-Circle-D 2,059
Devores- Your photos are amazing! Great job on those. You're right, though, you miss a lot by not being on street level. The costumes and performers really enhance the parade. Memphis 105
We were watching a live stream of the parade and I told DW "I beat TCD is there" We had thought about going but ended up baby sitting the GD and we did not want to take her into the crowd. Was it as crowded as it looked. Here is a screen cap right at the end of the parade.

Was it as crowded as it looked. Here is a screen cap right at the end of the parade. I looked, but could not find myself in that photo. But we were right there. After the parade passed by us in Frontierland, we cut through Adventureland, through the Emporium, and caught up with it as it passed by to go around the loop in front of the Train Station. We were pressing to get out before the mobs, as we needed to bounce to Epcot to cash in some FP+'s. I'll have photos to share at the appropriate time in my newest TR, but yes, it was super crowded. Main Street was basically full when we arrived at just past noon that day. TCD
devores 382
WOW!!!For comparison, the below photo was taken the same day as a practice shot to get everything set up. The float photographed was at center street (Crystal Arts area) on Main Street. As a gee whiz, the Guy on the float, the emcee......I watched FoF with him and his mother. devores 382
Wow, what a lens! What time did you stake out your spot for the parade? TCDI sat down at 1200. The area just below where I sat, on the street, did not fill up until 1500, so if you wanted to sit ground level, you could still find good spots later. But the train station filled up quick. By 1300, there was no room left and they were turning people away from going up there. I wanted a specific spot so I didn't mind waiting that long. If you just want to see the FoF, you can stake out a little later. and this guy was just down from me......Now that's a lens.

We arrived at the MK at around 12:30, and nobody was staking out spots in the area around the flagpole. There were a few places along Main Street, but it was pretty full. We had lunch at BOG, which is why we had to head to Frontierland for a spot. I'm going to watch it from the Train Station some time- with the floats being as tall as they are, I'll bet that's cool. Wow. That is some lens. I hope it didn't make you feel too inadequate. TCD

Okieatheart 33
We also saw the parade from the second story of the Train Station. We got there about 2 pm and stood directly behind a couple sitting closest to the railing. I asked her what time they had arrived to secure such a coveted spot, and she said at 1 pm. This was on Tuesday, the 9th. The parade was spectacular from this vantage point, but I agree with other posters who said they missed much of the action on the ground. But on any level, this is one of the coolest parades I have ever seen! A bit of trivia - the parade arrives at the corner of the Confectionary at 3:23 pm - just in case you were wondering. devores 382
A few more I took a few days later. These were taken at the beginning of the Town Square are where the Emporium and Confectionary are, right where the floats make the left turn to pass in fornt of the TST. I had a clear view down the middle of Main Street. As a side note, Maleficent did not breath fire this go around. It was too windy. For an insider tip also, when the parade passes over the Liberty Square bridge, the dancers do not dance and Maleficent does not breath fire. So do not sit where your only view is of the parade crossing the bridge. BradyBzLyn...Mo
