From the Disney Parks Blog...

For many guests, a visit to a Disney Park wouldn’t be complete without catching a parade. Whether it’s the thrill of seeing which Disney character comes up next, or that moment when your favorite character waves right at you, there’s just something magical about a Disney parade.

Today, we’re happy to share that a new procession, the Disney Festival of Fantasy Parade, will march into Magic Kingdom Park in spring 2014.

The Disney Festival of Fantasy Parade will bring a celebration of New Fantasyland to Main Street, U.S.A., through fantastic and innovative new parade floats, vibrant costumes, and an original soundtrack that will feature beloved songs from favorite Disney films, plus a parade theme song.

This parade will specifically highlight the stories of “The Little Mermaid,” “Sleeping Beauty,” “Dumbo,” “Pinocchio,” “Peter Pan,” “Tangled” and the Disney●Pixar film “Brave” among others. (Check out a sneak peek of the “Tangled”-themed float above).

Keep your eye on the Disney Parks Blog for future coverage of the development of this new parade.

You're confusing the crappy Electrical Water Pageant with the MSEP, I like the MSEP.

The unofficial buzz is that the MSEP will be gone sometime this year with the return of Spectro Magic.

I don't mind Spectro Magic. It is just that MSEP brings back nostalgic memories. It is the one I saw when my grandparents took us to Disney for the first time. I was just hoping to be able to share that with all three of my kids. DS did see it when he was 4, but the girls haven't.

When Bobby told me about this parade, I got really excited. I thought it would be a parade consisting of just the Disney Princesses. I am sorry to hear this is not the case. I will not waste my time on this parade.

Think Victoria's Secret with Disney Princesses as models on parade. They could even do like the Adventurers Club used to do with a family friendly show early in the evening and an adult version later on.

That show was tried for a brief time last year at Mickey's Backyard Massage Parlor and Casino, but during the late show one night Ariel had a wardrobe malfunction.  Mulan tried to help her cover up but cut her finger on Ariel's broken seashell, and when Tiana saw it she thought Mulan had been shot and started screaming "Ariel's been shot!  Ariel's been shot!".  A melee ensued, and by the time OCSO sorted things out 20 people had been sent to the hospital and Tiana, Mulan and Rapunzel, who bitch-slapped a female officer with her hair, were sent to prison to cool down.  So seriously, I doubt you will ever see that show again.

So is this the new 3:00 parade or a replacement for the "Celebrate" annoyance.

The "Celebrate a Dream Come True" parade will stop appearing by the end of the year so that Disney can prepare for the new parade in 2014.

The new parade will feature, but not be limited to, Flynn Rider, Rapunzel, Ariel, Peter Pan, Wendy, Merida, Pinocchio and Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs.

Just to clarify, a lot of people call it the 3 o'clock parade, but during the busiest times of the year, they have it twice a day, so sometimes it's the 12:30 parade too.

Anyway, nothing has been announced regarding the status of  the "Move It! Shake It! Celebrate It! Street Party". I think it will continue for a while.

From the Disney Parks Blog.  Gotta say that is one cool looking dragon!

Since last Friday, we’ve been giving you some sneak peeks at a mysterious new float coming this spring to the “Disney Festival of Fantasy Parade” at Magic Kingdom Park. Today, we’re excited to reveal that this impressive addition represents none other than Maleficent from “Sleeping Beauty” – in the form of an enormous, Steampunk-inspired dragon.

Stretching 35 feet in length and reaching 26 feet above the parade route, the Maleficent Dragon has been designed in partnership with Tony Award-winner Michael Curry, whose previous collaborations with Disney Parks have included the “Tapestry of Nations” parade at Epcot and “Finding Nemo – The Musical” at Disney’s Animal Kingdom.

The “Disney Festival of Fantasy Parade” is a celebration of Fantasyland, with each of the floats appearing as though the characters of that enchanted land may have had a hand in crafting them, bringing their individual stories to celebratory life on the streets of Magic Kingdom Park. The Steampunk-inspired style of the Maleficent Dragon takes that “maker” spirit to a spectacular level.

We’ll have much more to share about the Maleficent Dragon and the rest of the “Disney Festival of Fantasy Parade” in the coming weeks, as we get closer to parade’s debut in spring 2014!
