  1. Amen to that Carol. I will stay off the soapbox otherwise I could go on for a while on this topic.
  2. Agree with Dave. Ask a neighbor and they may have a spare they will lend you. I carry 4 or 5 with me because you never know what you may need and when you may need it. If they have them at the fort, if they are more than $10-$15 I would hit a local walmart/target/best buy and pick one up. Anything over that is insane and justifies the quick drive to anywhere other than the local fort store.
  3. Same here. TV anymore sucks.Going to sound a little old fashioned but what happened to Saturday morning kid cartoons and shows that had some kind of meaning? I look around and a lot of society is a brain dead and the other half buys into being brain dead. Going to jump off the soapbox or I will get out of control. Oh yeah, Last Man Standing is a great show. Hope it never gets cancelled.
  4. I have heard of those as well. Not sure where to look. I have some family that has purchased second homes around Lakeland. I was thinking more north but I know nothing about the sunshine state outside of Disney and Treasure Island (which I have not been there in years).
  5. HAH. That reminded me of an old Southpark episode......Snooki Want Smoosh Smoosh
  6. I was wondering that same thing. I heard about the pipeline burst but have not heard much on it. Last I knew it was supposed to be repaired and operational later this week.
  7. Not sure on how I am going to display it yet. Thinking of having it framed with a few other things but not 100% on that yet. I know one thing, if I don't stop talking about the fort my wife may drive it through my chest. At least then I could take it to my grave....literally.
  8. Tapatalk has been removed from my phone now that it has ceased to function at all. I had some pics I wanted to share with this last post but I don't have a quick and easy way to upload them at the moment. Anyway..... Saturday....our last full day. We woke up with the intentions of hanging around the fort and doing pretty much nothing.......which semi happened. We got up and decided to head back to trails end. First time we ever had their brunch on Saturday mornings. Let's just say it was different but good. Since most of my clan is a breakfast is breakfast and lunch is lunch w
  9. Not giving up. My work life is pretty stressful and has been insane since we have been back. Going to give it a fe more days and finish everything up. I like the 1300 loop but that may be just because of the site we had. Our site was awesome. I liked 1124 when we were over there 2 trips back as well. Maybe next time we will try something back towards the settlement. I struggle with that though because I like being up by the meadows. we are still trying to figure out the deer. That was odd. Only place I have known that to happen was when I was a kid in brown county Indiana. Back then
  10. Looks and sounds like a blast. Probably will never make it to a MNSSHP as it is really hard to pull the kids from school to head down there. Maybe when the grandkids come along we could enjoy it before they are in school. Love the people watching pics. Just as if we were sitting there with you guys. Can't wait to come back down.
  11. well after 2 weeks of hell at work and fighting my phone and tapatalk, I am going to post an update to my trip report. Now where was I........oh yeah. Thursday was another day of relaxation. We poked around the fort a little and then ran over to Disney springs again and ate at Bongos. It was ok for what it was. Not exactly my cup of tea but everyone liked what they had. I have the chicken nuggets/bites and a bowl of chicken soup. The soup was great but the nuggets we just ok. I don't recall what the others got but they said it was good. After eating I wondered down to the Lego
  12. Dear trip report, I have not forgotten about you. My work life this week has been hell followed up by a bunch of house stuff. I am hoping to give you some much needed attention sometime this weekend.
  13. It's amazing how time flies. Been trying to finish up my report but life keeps getting in the way. Anyway we started out Wednesday semi early. Missed rope drop at MK which I wanted the kids to see. No big deal though. When we got in the park we had to get the traditional castle photo. Once the photo was done we went over to the barnstormer. We had a fast pass for it. Riley was so excited. Unfortunately I didn't get any pictures of her on it but she had a blast and wanted to do it again which we did since the wait was only 5 minutes. After that chip an
  14. Maybe that is where they moved it to. The only thing when I booked was some options to let them know you have slide outs, an awning, length, and if you want to be close to someone else checking in. The freeform field is no longer there to add notes.
  15. The Roku can stream from devices now. I think it may be limited in what type of streaming it supports (miracast only I think). I have used it and it worked well for the one time I needed it.
  16. I have a lot of them. I like the flexibility and the channel options. If you stick to the big players for streaming like netflix/hulu/amazon prime/vudu then almost any player will play them. The Roku was one of the first for VUDU and I got into digital copies AND physical copies pretty big and VUDU made that easy for us. That and you can convert physical copies to digital copies with their service for a small fee per conversion. Not everything can be converted though.
  17. Absolutely.......I used a Roku attached to my TV via HDMI. Pretty simple setup. The Roku was joined to the disney guest wireless (there is no capture page to accept terms of service yet but I have a way around that as well when it comes). Once the Roku was on the wireless I had the VUDU app loaded in the Roku which is where my Disney Digital Copy licenses from my bluray disc's get loaded to. Just pulled up the movie and streamed to the TV. I had it hiccup and buffer 1 time for about 3 seconds but other than that I was watching it in full 1080p with no problems. Now if everyone was using the wi
  18. Thanks for the feedback Carol and TCD. After talking with my sister and brother in law, it looks like we are going to shoot for the week of thanksgiving and the week after in 2017. Went ahead and blocked those dates off because I know they fill up fast. On a side note, I was customizing the magic bands for the trip I just booked. I am going snarky......PURPLE MAGIC BANDS ARE HERE!!!!! Not sure if anyone knew this yet. Didn't see it on the forum. But now you can get a free purple one when booking. One of the things they did take away for online booking was the ability to notate a site/look
  19. Can one of the fiends give me some advice? Thinking about heading down the last week of April and first week of May 2017. Anyone able to tell me what crowds and weather are like this time of year? I saw the crowd calendar shows light crowds but I know those are estimates. Anyone planning on being there at that time?
  20. I am not doing well keeping on the trip report. Going to try and get back on track here.... So Tuesday was another relaxation day. We had bfast over at Ohana which is one of my favorites. The potatoes were really good compared to normal. Would love to know what they were seasoned with. We were shown our table right before a parade and we didn't finish up until after another parade. The kids were loving the double parade. We had 3 full plate refills and I feel we got our moneys worth this time. After the second parade the kids got to meet the characters. Of course their favorite was..
  21. I know when we were down last week that an outside company set one up in the site beside of us the day before someone came in. I don't recall the vendor but I do recall that there were rental labels on the tongue of the trailer and he had some small advertisements on the side of the truck he hauled it in with. Wish I would have paid more attention to what company it was now to see if they were a preferred vendor.
  22. They finally put one in Columbus. I ha e been to about 10 different Chuys over the years and by far the best was the one in San Antonio. I have noticed that the salsa is different at every one of them but the food taste the same otherwise.
  23. To me it is sad. For the kids it is neat with all the stuff going on in there. When we first went there about 10 years ago the menu was excellent with a great selection and the volcano could serve 6 to 8 people easy. Now the menu is maybe a page long and all our favorites are gone. The volcano now feeds about 3 possibly 4 if you stretch it and the price went up.
  24. Monday was a relax and get caught up on sleep day......that didn't happen. My mom and nephew were getting board and I wanted to see the Disney Springs since we were last here prior to the renovations. We ended up heading over around 10:30 because the ecv we rented decided to stop charging. After looking at the charger you could see where the output side of the chargers wires were starting to fray and come out of the charger. If you wiggled it the charger would kick on and start charging. After a few minutes it would shut back off. Around 11am I wheeled the ecv from one end of Disney Springs to
