We found a great light at Walmart.  It's a swimming pool light with remote control.  Has many settings and colors to choose from.
    Under 8 bucks, 2 AAA's.

PGHFiend got a reaction from BradyBzLyn...Mo in What I've Noticed: Dog Park Completion and New Meadows Cart Lot et.al.
The dog park is now complete. They added new lamp posts and lights, a pavillion over the new tables and added a big dalmatian at the entrance. Looks really nice.

Also spotted new cart parking lot being installed next to the meadows store, and it's a pretty good size.   Here's a panoramic.

Many loops have been repaved and construction at River Country is still in land clearing and leveling.   I'd say they brought up the ground for the new horse barn about 8 feet to make it level with the existing road.
All of the lounge chairs have been moved to the "New" side of the beach and it looks pretty nice. Here's a pic of Clementines side.

Many open sites here today, pool had many open chairs, maybe half,  at 2 pm.

It is just that, a false front. From old sleuthing, it was discovered it is just an equipmment room back there.
Don't recall who posted the "evidence" pics, or if they are still available here with picture hosting becoming so flaky.

Sorry about the theft.  Guess they needed the torches more, but it's nice to think they maybe tripped and accidentally impaled themselves running away.

The worst I heard was some tree chipping. I'm hopeful it stays that way.
I clearly remeber everyone was beside themselves about the villas at the lodge.  It looks as if they almost grew there now....they do a pretty good job when they try.

I blame people that rent campers. If you don't own it,  take care of it, and tow it your self, you don't deserve to get to stay at the Fort. And a minimum requirement should be that you changed at least one blowout on the side of the interstate, the camping right of passage.

Just watched a Tim Tracker video and he was at the Waldorf hotel. He zoomed in on the skyliners from his balcony and they happened to stop. Then I noticed how they were bouncing....probably normal behavior for something on a wire rope but I bet it was 6 feet of movement.
Or....maybe someone is already "breaking one in"!
    Where's the merch for that??

Thanks for posting the video link. Rene and I have never been there and are planning to spend a couple of days at Dollywood on our way to the Defeated Creek gathering. The roller coasters have one of the traits that makes Magic Mountain in California one of my favorite parks. That is they are built taking advantage of the mountainous terrain. For me that makes the ride more fun than something built over a piece of flat land.

Yeah but what good is a slice of a cast iron pan?

Looks like a new pool and lazy river in those plans. I'll be taking my raft and chicken bucket right through the lobby.

Coincidentally, beginning this fall Mickey's Backyard Massage Parlor and Casino will begin offering the Naughtily Ever After Fireworks Dessert Party.  Enjoy a buffet dinner at Minnie's Ho Down Smorgasbord, a private rooftop VIP viewing area for the nightly show, plus the fireworks, followed by a whipped cream dessert extravaganza.  Only $249pp.
Guests of Loop 3000 will also have access to the FWG lounge including their famous bottomless kungaloosh mugs.

    Late to the party.
Here at the Fort. Today was an amazing day; Trails End breakfast, horse barn, bike riding, nap under the awning, dog walking.  A few sites open in every loop, over 25 open in the 2000, saw 2 or 3 Prevost buses and a few other big ones. Mainly campers like mine and many older ones, like cousin Eddie style.
    Expensive?
    Yep
    Value to cost?
Unmeasureable.  But for us, worth every penny.
    Ymmv!

The land across from the horse barn has been cleared and the girl there told me they are moving the barn into that cleared space.  The beach to the right has something going on but not obvious.  There was an excavator clearing the canal behind the 800 loop.
Once your here on the ground, I don't think you will even be able to see the new resort once it's done.  The trees are so mature and bring so much cover, you can't even really see pioneer hall from the settlement store if you think about it.
I'll see what I can grab.

Until I see otherwise, I am giving Disney the benefit of the doubt with this resort.  Let's face it...the Fort of our youth has been gone for over a decade, if not two.  The peacocks, train, trams, River Country, etc are never coming back.  But what will exist once this construction is all over in a few years might not be terrible.  While it's becoming clear that the Settlement and Clementine Beach will be significantly altered, I have yet to walk around a single resort at WDW where I thought to myself "good Lord this is awful!".  I believe they will create a beautiful place.  Different, no doubt, but probably pretty darn nice.  I too grieve the loss of what was a peaceful Settlement, where I enjoyed sitting on the porch with a drink while the kids played.  But I have other peaceful places in my world.  And I'm hoping we will see a nice combined area with enhanced amenities for the benefit of both resorts.  This talk of "our beach will become their beach" rings hollow with me, because I don't see Disney running a fence through the Settlement with razor wire to keep us out.  I imagine additional areas to walk around, like at many of the other resorts.  Yes, there will be more people.  That's a given.  But hopefully it will be nice to visit additional shops, grab a beverage at new bars with outdoor dining areas, and still have our peaceful campsite to relax at (and possibly some additional amenities to come in the Meadows area).
