TCD, I'm  sorry you are so outraged  about the trees, and I dont have time or desire to write half of what you wrote to me but, of course I know that bay lake was there from the beginning.  There were once trees where the MK and parking lots are too, and I hope you are not still mourning their fate. If you want untouched prestine land, try a national park for a change.  I personally think they do a pretty good job of talking care of the nature that they maintain and OWN, and I recognize I have zero say in what they do with it, just like they have none with my land.   
If you dont like it, stop going or spending money there and realize some relationships run their course whether we want them to or not .

Change is hard to take, but I'm sure they will put in some trees from the tree farm that will look the part and not be damaged during the work. Don't forget all of Disney is man made, and for whatever reason we all like it so much, we feel we have some say in the operation, which we never will. 
Now, if they started clearing trees for sone more sites, we'd all be on board.

Wife and I just ate at the Skipper about 2 hours ago. Wife says skip it, pork was salty and tough, noodle bowl was bland, manager came over and basically to us how we SHOULD be enjoying the meal- Not exactly magical. She did however comp us 2 desserts so we had the Kongaloosh cake and the coconut compote, both pretty good. Overpriced at 65 bucks for 2 entrees no appetizers, mediocre bread and honey 2 soft drinks and 2 free deserts with tip. Add a point for seating us within minutes on New years day in a park with zero dinner reservations available.

So I've been messing around with a cnc router I have access to and came up with a few designs. First one is a clock, made from plywood and a scrap piece of hardwood. I set the router to .125 deep and used a torch to age it before lacquer top coat. That was before I got the clock parts at michaels.
Second one is a camp sign for the fort. Made out of glued up scrap cherry strips. V bit letters and detail lines with a ball end mill pocket around the disney text. I'm going to paint the interior letters black and restain after paint. I'm using sikkens cetol 1 topcat. I'm going to add an led light and hang it from a tree branch style frame. Just thought I'd share.

Thread is silly. If you have the dough for $800 plane tix, and a 24 hour ticket, and a return trip later in the year- you could swing a premium site. Or a cheap hotel. I'm going over to the DVC forum to see if I can stay in a spare bedroom.

And kudos to you for buying an aluminum frame unit. If this were wood framed I'd tell you to burn it. So to all of those reading along who may be thinking about a camper, please don't but a wood one!

Just got back from the DTD Hilton for a work trip o Saturday.  Very nice hotel, quiet, and the walkway leads right to the main West Side entrance near the Disney buses. I'd recommend it.
