  1. Thank you for reading! Thank you again. We only ended up eating at the food court that one time. Bryce had a create your own pasta. He said it was fantastic. I just ended up getting a kid's pizza because I didn't want to eat too much before Raglan Road. We loved parts of Universal but not all. I will tell you more when we get there. Thank you :) Thanks! Moore and Norman are so close together now that pretty soon it will be hard to know when one ends and the other begins. I will try to get to Universal as quick as possible :)
  2. Day 2 We decided to go to Animal Kingdom first. My parents only had 4 days passes and knew that AK is not a full day park. I also knew they needed to rest after arriving at 1am. So a little background: Oklahoma has gotten more rain in May than ever before. We were tired of rain. As soon as we got to AK it started pouring. Go figure. We made the most of it and had a good time. We all decided that next time we probably don't really need to go back to Animal Kingdom. It was fun and we like Expedition Everest but not enough to go back. We started off by finding a meet and greet f
  3. Happy belated Anniversary! What a lovely weekend. The resort looks so beautiful and it must have been so nice to relax without kids. :)
  4. Our story starts way back in late 2009. (Bare with me I am a bit wordy here) I had always wanted to go to Disney and finally we were in a place where we could save for a trip. I found that other website and started reading. I scrolled down and found the camping at Fort Wilderness board, stumbled onto one of TCD's trip reports and fell in love with the Fort. In 2011 we pulled our popup from Oklahoma to Florida and stayed 11 wonderful nights at Fort Wilderness. My kids were 9 and 6 and it was perfect. We knew when we left that we'd come back. Then later that year I got pregnant w
  5. Looks like fun! I love all the Lego creations. There is a small indoor Legoland in Dallas. When it opened I heard it was geared towards the 5-8 crowd and my son was already older so we never went. I have a 2 year old now so I am thinking in a few years we may make a trip down there for him.
  6. I made it to the end! You started this report right around the time we went on vacation. We got home Thursday but it's been so crazy here. I finally sat down yesterday to start reading and finished this morning. :) Loved reading about Ireland and England. My husband and I are planning on going in 5 years for our 20th anniversary. I wanted to comment on the smoking. When we went to Universal and stayed at Royal Pacific it seemed like everyone was smoking outside everywhere. Completely different than how it was at Disney and it almost ruined our experience. I haven't ever though
  7. Looks like you both had so much fun! Now it's my turn! We leave tomorrow after the last day of school is over to start our long drive there. We are breaking the trip up into several days and will arrive around lunchtime on Friday. :)
  8. We went to Mt. Rushmore a couple summers ago and then made our way around to Colorado Springs. My youngest was only 11 months at the time so I have a feeling we'll end up doing that again when he's older. We have so many places on our list. Problem is time and money and our oldest is 13 so his years at home are getting shorter. Washington DC. My husband works for the FAA and goes to DC fairly often. If he goes at the right time in the summer we might be able to go with him sometime. Coastal North Carolina. We lived there when my husband was a marine and want to take the kids to
  9. Does he get any help from the VA? Yes, he does. Thank goodness.
  10. So scary! So glad she is okay. About extreme pain: my husband was hit by a 5 ton truck when he was in the marines. He has nerve damage and who knows what else in his right shoulder and arm. He is never not in pain. There are days that are worse than others but he always hurts. I will say that he almost never complains about it, though. You would never know by just looking at him that he's in extreme pain but like someone else said I can see it in his eyes.
  11. Love those pictures of the two of you! So much fun. Maybe my daughter and I can do this when she is older. :) I feel like I need a nutella waffle now. :) Yum!
  12. This looks like it's going to be fun report! Thank you for the BLT idea. I have been trying to think of meals we can have in our room. I'll get some of that precooked bacon. :) Winner!
  13. As long as there are no tornadoes when I get there 17 days then all is good. I am so over severe weather and tornadoes.
  14. Thanks. We did make a stop at that big McDonalds last time so I know that area. :) So glad to know an Aldi is nearby. Aldi, is my go to grocery store, too. Good idea about the Daiya cheese search. I have done it for here local to me but didn't think about there. Will do that now. --just looked and I can get it at Publix! Yay!
  15. Thanks. Does anyone know if there is an Aldi nearby? What about a natural food store? My youngest is allergic to many things. I plan to bring as much for him as I can but Aldi usually has a good selection of gluten free foods which also happen to be free of many allergens. But I will need a natural food store for his Daiya cheez. I hate to go to Whole Foods because it's so overpriced but if that's my only option I'll take it. We will actually be staying at the Art of Animation this time but I don't mind driving.
  16. Late, but I am reading along. Your family is beautiful. :) Thanks for reminding me to put hair dryer my packing list. ;D I have already have a large pile of stuff I have to bring with us in the corner of my bedroom. I am sure my husband thinks I need to bring the whole house with us.
  17. Wow, I would love to do what you are doing! I see you'll be stopping in my area next April. OKC has changed so much and has a lot of fun things to offer. We have a great zoo, science museum and the bombing memorial is very moving. Bricktown is fun. There's the Sam Noble natural history museum in Norman that is fairly inexpensive and my kids always enjoy going to it. If you want a break from the city there is a nature park on the northside of the city. It's called Martin's Nature Park. We love hiking the trails there. One thing to keep in mind is that it's tornado season here in
  18. We love road trips! We drove to Disney last time and pulled our popup trailer, too! We are taking the same route there as we did last time. Going to Memphis-staying the night there, then drive southeast and stay the night in Valdosta, GA and then head in the rest of the way the next morning. Two summers ago we pulled our Popup to South Dakota to see Mt. Rushmore and then to Colorado Springs and back home. Thankfully, my kids are great in the car-even the 2 year old. :)
  19. Because of all this Raglan Road talk I just went on the Disney site and got us a reservation for 5:30 on the day we arrive. Our 15th anniversary is actually 2 days before that but since we'll be on the road driving we'll celebrate at Raglan Road.
  20. So jealous that you got to swim on Easter! It was a cold, wet day here in Oklahoma. My church does a helicopter egg drog--they dropped 10,000 plastic eggs. The kids grab them after they are dropped and then exchange them for candy. We stood out there for an hour and froze. It was so chilly that it kept many people away so there were tons of eggs still on the ground after all the kids collected them. Love the first Easter pics. :) The Egg scramble looks like a lot of fun and it's kind of nice that they include the big kids. My oldest is 13 and was too old for the egg drop, but really
  21. Usually I come to a trip report during the middle of it and wait to comment until I have read all 20 pages but hey I am here fairly early. I love reading about your adventures with your adorable Z. It makes me even more excited for our trip at the end of May/beginning of June. It's almost here!
  22. So I just found this thread All three of my kids have Sensory Processing Disorder and it effects all three differently. I have a 13 year old and 2 year old son and a 9 year old daughter. At the moment my 13 year old is doing great. He gets frustrated and overwhelmed easily but we are learning how to cope with that. He has struggled for so long and now it's nice that things are good. Currently, my daughter is battling quite a bit of anxiety over school. From what I understand anxiety and sensory go hand in hand together. She can't regulate her emotions so the anxiety is controll
  23. I saw the menu and prices and decided against it even before reservations opened up. For one it's mainly egg dishes and 3 out of 5 of us hate eggs and the youngest is allergic to them so only my oldest would have been happy. And two I'd rather pay 30 something dollars for a steak at dinner than $20 for a small breakfast meal. So I kept our dinner reservation -- glad to see I made a good choice.
