i like to sit on the porch and watch everyone heading out to the party...  great pics!  we can always count on you to give us a dis fix.  (sigh)  wish i was there...

I know you are one of those people who likes heat.  I don't necessarily mind heat if all I need to do is walk to my car to go somewhere.  But if I have to do anything outside, or am camping, I like it cool.  This weekend the highs were in the upper 70's and it was in the low 50's in the morning.  Perfect!  I figure, if it is cool I can layer on a sweatshirt and be comfy.  If it's hot, I can't really get naked to be comfortable.  Ain't NOBODY wants to see that. 

Those gates reminded me of something, but I couldn't place it.  And then it came to me.

This was a first cruise for me and Sil. I was trying to pay close attention to things so I could intelligently answer any of my clients questions after.
I hope you have a great cruise. Feel free to ask questions. If I don't know we have plenty of Fiends resources to get an answer and I might need to know someday too.

At site 1503!! Tentzilla is up! I wasn't able to get an official Fort Fiends sign so the kids are making me one right now for this trip. Got my Kenny cart and already did some looping. Still can't believe I'm really here!!

Loving the TR!! And I must say you are a better person than I am for letting the "buddies" tag along. Hell, there are times I don't even want my husband along on my camping trips let alone some rookie vegetarian and her offspring. LOL!

I used to work at Big Bend Wildlife Sanctuary - we handled Bats To Bears, Hummingbirds to Eagles, literally!
We had three orphaned Golden Bats (they were too young to fly and Mother was carrying them when she was shot. We had to make special feed; train them to echolocate live insects ... and then teach them to fly! FUN!
We had orphaned Black Bear cubs shipped to us from all over the Southeast - Arkansas being the furthest, because we had a program to raise the bear cubs AND have successful releases back to the wild ... which is DAMNED hard! When Exxon Valdiz happened, we we volunteered to take in any orphaned KODIAK bear cubs - up to 12 - and Exxon was going to expand our facilities and provide food. Thankfully, their were none. We did take in a mature Male Black Bear - all 600+ pounds of him (NORM!). I was the only one that felt confident enough to take care of him ... and he, too, was successfully released.
Did I tell you about the 4 1/2 foot alligator with the broken snout (ran over by a car) ... I had to hand feed him cut up fish with a set of BIG chopsticks! He was just a big baby - used his tongue to take the fish and was NEVER aggressive. None of the animals we took in were aggressive for that manner - they knew we were helping them. Even the Skunk that gave birth while in rehab never sprayed!
Feeding baby birds is an art in itself - feeding baby hummingbirds is doubly so!
We received a nest of Bald Eagles that were orphaned by a hurricane (the nest was blown out of a tree and carried who knows how far - the parents never found them). Two were successfully released; the third had a broken wing from the fall, and never recovered to the releasable stage. He entered our Educational program.
Yes, we were State and Federally licensed to rehabilitate ALL wildlife - including Endangered and Venomous ones. We also had State and Federal licenses for specific Birds and Animals to use in an Educational program that we put on at Schools, State and National Parks as well as other events we were invited to that we felt were worth our time and effort.
If it helps, I was State and Federally licensed as well as IWRC Certified for Rehab ... don't do this on your own!

When I loose my mind, you'll notice I didn't say if, and I decide to do a TR, I'm just getting the obligatory fireworks photos off the internet. Who's gonna know?
They probably won't even be WDW fireworks photos.

Oh my! Two posts already and I'm just catching up. The weather has got me a little sluggish. I too, am tired of all this rain. I love when it rains, but not for three days in a row. Let's see if I can remember all the things I want to comment on:
Why is TCD the greatest Dad ever?
1. When you make plans with your girls, who cares what those darn weather people say, you throw caution to the wind.
2. Despite being caught in a traffic jam, you make a quick decision to change up the plans, instead of having road rage, or deciding to just go back home.
3. You appreciate the Disney Security and realize that they risk life and limb to protect guests.
4. You let the twins laugh at you, instead of just with you. Including while you wandered cluelessly through the lodge or listened to some old 70's guys music.
5. You don't embarrass the twins by telling a cast member they don't know their ass from their elbow, even when you know the Cars topiaries have been at Epcot.
6. You buy big, yummy, fattening cookies. (Twin #1 eyes say it all)
7. You are a quick thinker, even when your life is flashing before your eyes. But I have to wonder if your camera would survive the fall for Mrs TCD to see the "final" photo?
8. You make the most of your time while the girls took a pit stop instead of rushing them and complaining like a lot of men.
9. You loaded up the wrist gift cards with cash for quick snacking access.
10. You took a fist pumping picture with guidos!! I love guidos, and will probably spend the majority of my F&W experience sniffing looking around Italy.
I hope your girls know how lucky they are to have such a hands on Dad. I wasn't always so lucky. So that's all for now, my "top ten" list. Letterman will probably be calling soon, but don't worry I won't forget the little people who got me there.
