In my opinion, the bigger problem is that "guests" don't seem to need to take any responsibility for their own safety.  Common sense should come into play at some point.  No swimming means to stay out of the water.  I'm sure there will also be stay off the fence signs and stay off the rocks signs.  I guess that is what happens when we live in a lawsuit society.  It's always someone else's fault!!

I remember seeing the wave machine in action on either a Merv Griffin or a Mike Douglas show being broadcast from the Poly beach.  That was a couple? of years after they opened, but they quickly realized the issues, and only used it for specials like that, and each night they had to replenish the beach.
If you're not older than your mid 50's you're probably wondering who the heck I'm talking about

We are headed to General RV today to look again at the Denali.  Really liked the salesman there and the layout of the Denali.  Will let you know how it goes.  And  yes, I am thinking about WWW, should be able to sleep 3-4.  I will make them set up the dinette to see how it sleeps and how many humans it will hold.

Thanks fiends.  It's a lot fancier than what I'm use to, but guess my body will like it better.
Pick up tomorrow and Bill booked a stay for 4 days next week at Jetty Park for our shake down cruise.

Thanks Arthur,  We like having the truck available to go places after we set up camp,  That's why we don't look at motor homes.

I'm very happy to say our stay at the KOA in Fredericksburg, VA was successful.  Hubby went off each morning to the convention to fight aka play  war games.  His fav being a WWII navel  battle game, Seekrieg.  The convention center was only one exit north on 95.
We had a nicely shaded camp site near the office and the laundry.  Very quiet CG even on Friday and Saturday.  Saturday,  the CG had several things going to keep kids and parents entertained.  The camp store had a good variety of goods and gifts.  Prices were not outrageous.   I would stay there again.
Thanks to all who commented and helped me decide where to stay.

I'm pretty sure some people do home births in a Disney hotel and hit the park the next day. I don't know how they do it.

It's a wee bit too big to get through the turnstiles at Carousel of Progress (although hey - bag check would be a breeze!).
    More like this...

...except with a flat bottom.  I don't want some wise guy sneaking up behind me and giving me a push.

fladogfan aka Gretchen reacted to AuburnJen in 2 year old boy grabbed and taken by gator at Grand Floridian
It isn't possible.  That isn't reality.  I have seen where gators climb fences, they will go anywhere to get to a source of water, man made or God made.  They are the alpha predator of the food chain.  Disney was built on a swamp.  These are facts.  Just in the past few weeks this video of a monster gator vent viral that he walked a golf course during the day and everyone I talked to thought it was cute that was not a native of Florida.  The Floridians all said, I bet no one goes around there sunrise, sunset or at night or you wouldn't see them again.  Gators are not cute.
There is something to be said of Disney's policy on what is seen and what is not.  Obviously their policy of removing gators that are 5 feet or larger has to be revisited.  However, doing so is going to be a daunting task for the FWC and Disney itself.
The people who say that because it is a man-made lake shouldn't have anything living in it are showing just how uneducated they really are I am sorry to say.  In Florida, if there is water, there are wildlife.
It may happen again if people continue to feed the wildlife, including the gators, which I still believe is the cause of this horrible tragedy.  No one will ever be able to prove it, but if you ever catch someone feeding gators at Disney, I hope you go after them with everything you have, because I know I will.  I have seen what happens when people feed gators.  It never, ever turns out well for anyone and the gator always loses its life.

Actually, it was correct before, since the arrow, was pointing to the 3000 loop boat, which is the fastest means of transportation to anywhere on property.

We had reservations at camp wilderness once.  We left home at 8 am on a June morning and drove all day to Charlotte.  We arrived at 4 or 5 pm and checked in, set up the TT and headed for the pool as it was in the 90s and 3 kids had been couped up in the truck all day with only promises of swimming to keep them going.  Pool was closed.  It wasn't 6pm yet.  Hours of daylight left.  I enquired as to the pool closing situation.  Apparently the pool had to close when the amusement park did....or some equally stupid reason.  I got our money back, hitched the trailer back up, and drove to the 5 miles down 77 to the fort Mill koa, where the pool was open until 10....because people like to swim in June.....after 4 o'clock.

But these are also convection ovens and not everyone is familiar with that type of oven.  We have a big one at church , that was donated to us, so I know how to run that one.  Do not know how different a small one would be to use.

My curiosity got the best of me, so I tracked down the post you're referring to, Norm.
There is no doubt in my mind that is my photo.  I was there early in the morning and the lighting and shadows are identical in both photos, and out of all the sites in that loop, what are the odds that this lady's "sister" took the exact same photo from the exact same angle of the exact same campsite? Plus all of the narrative that poster provided is a summary of my thoughts and observations.  Total thievery I tell you.  For shame!

There's a shocker (not).  As TCD said, it wouldn't be the first time.
Since the perpetrators are probably reading along...
Hi there!!  We're so glad you find this site such a great source of information. We certainly appreciate TCD and all the terrific Fiends that take their time and energy to track down and share all this awesome stuff with us.
And while we absolutely encourage you to share it with the great wide world, it's pretty shady and lame not to credit the source.
