  1. AMEN! I tried to do a TR from last October and couldn't get my pix from my phone to Photobucket easily so by the time I returned to work I didn't have the time to fool with it.
  2. Have you ever been to The Fort before? If not, I would go because you will want to go back regardless of how impacted your trip is. Many people will be reporting about the construction between now and then and you can make a decision closer to that time. I have reservations in the fall and will certainly report back what I am seeing. I would say you can find many places to walk your dogs even if the path goes away. The dog park is just down from the 100-300 loops and should be available.
  3. Thanks for posting these pictures. I find this topic strangely interesting. Kind of like watching a train wreck. I really hope the access to this resort comes from the Wilderness Lodge area and not through The Fort.
  4. We loved camping in the 1500 loop when we had our popup. We liked the 2000 too. I tried to look at old pictures to see if I figure out exact site numbers for you but I couldn't do any better than Carol's advice. Good luck. I have gotten side by side sites linking reservations in the past but not sure if the folks at central reservations could help. You might ask Jason if he could take over your reservations and help you. Good luck.
  5. My Favorite is either the 800 or 900 bus stop where they overhang has been hit many times. They finally cut it back at angle. I assume this is from RVs coming out of the loop but it could be the internal buses.
  6. We stayed in site 1919 last fall and loved that loop! Wouldn't have liked it without a cart though. Do you remember which site number? When we were looping last fall we noticed in the 700 loop many of the site markers used different fonts and were different sizes and sometimes they were high on the post and sometimes they were lower on the post. Anyone else notice something like that in other loops?
  7. Looking forward to that annual trip report!
  8. I hope we get some more Fiends on the scene this coming spring. We have plans for Fall and will report then. Sounds like the most anticipated or feared development has begun.
  9. Thanks for the update. I the we would all love to see some pictures of these if you have a chance to snap a few.
  10. Oh Brother...Somebody get INC to put him in his place.
  11. We stayed in 1430 on the inside of the loop in 2006 when the kids were little. We were in a pop up and had to buy an extension for our electrical cord. However, the sites have been updated since then . We liked the site, close to the restroom, but if your little ones go to bed early the noise from the campfire can be heard easily.
  12. We stayed at the Mt. Pleasant KOA last summer on site B2. It was an awesome site and probably the best one in the campground. Overlooks the lake, large trees, has a fire pit, and concrete patio. The other sites were nice too but not very shady. The drive into Charleston isn't too bad but can be slow in traffic. You will cross that beautiful bridge which has a great view of the ocean. I would stay there again.
  13. That may just be the best trip idea ever!
  14. I second Blake's comment. We are going to make a trip to a Green Egg festival sometime soon.
  15. Enjoying the report. We have camped in July several times in a pop up. The AC definitely makes the trip reasonably comfortable. Glad you got yours sorted out.
  16. I am sure if I look closely there is still coquina in our camper somewhere. I hate the stuff really, but it always brings a smile to face when I see a little bit of it. It brings back memories of a happy place.
  17. 100 loop has been working good until last night in the rain. We were unable to watch video without buffering a lot. Not sure if the rain or multiple users caused the slow down.
  18. Just got here in site 109. Come by and say hello. There is another fiend across the street too.
  19. Oscar sorry to hear about the truck issues. We just pulled in to site 109. I noticed another fiend across from us. I hope to stop by and say hello this week.
  20. Sorry I haven't responded to the last comments, but I will later today. 24 hours and we are on our way. I chose this mug because I feel like Mickey looks on this mug, IN A RUSH! All this time waiting and now the end feels like I don't have anytime. I hope you all have a great job, enjoy your coffee. I hope to respond later today and sometime late on Saturday when we are settled in.
  21. Good Morning, one more day closer to leaving. Since we are going to be at WDW during the Flower and Garden Festival I thought I would share my wife’s favorite mug. We are hoping to get a new one this time around, but I am not sure we are down with the Figment theme this year. I got some important things done last night to prepare for the trip. I got a new pair of shoes to navigate the Parks. That means fitted New Balance athletic shoes. Of course my son told me they made me look old. To which I replied, “if the shoe fits!” That was real knee s
  22. It is amazing to me how similar our kitchens are to each other. Our backsplashes are even in a diamond pattern. Different colors but wow. I guess people who like Disney, camping, and The Fort can have many other things in common as well. We were told not to put it in the washer either, but since we hate doing dishes too, we risked it. Obviously didn't work out well for us. Thanks for sharing. I really enjoy getting to know other members better.
  23. We will be there Saturday to Monday. Unless we get itching to go to The Fort early. Please come on by. PM me after lunch on Saturday and I will tell you what site we are in. I am excited that you guys are booked at Defeated Creek in the fall.
  24. I paid the balance of my two week stay last summer with gift cards bought at Sam's. It was close to a $1000.
