  1. Have a blast. Get some pictures of the new beach construction if you can. I am curious to hear how the new construction is going. Spending time at the Fort...Priceless...almost. 🙂
  2. That is what they look like to me. They just put a different top on it. Still cool though.
  3. My next suggestion would be to go to the Wilderness Lodge to the outside bar area by the lake. They have good reasonably priced food, great atmosphere, and a good bar. I would recommend the Bourbon Breeze to drink.
  4. If it were me I would go to the Boathouse and sit at the bar and have shrimp and grits and a good cocktail!
  5. Great updates! Enjoying your trip report. Thanks for sharing.
  6. I get it. Just wanted to hear your smart a** sitting around the campfire again. Maybe this summer I'll be able to buzz down to see you guys. It was great to see you last fall. I will PM you next time so I won't have to hi-jack a great thread. Sorry Mo.
  7. Sorry to high jack this thread, but Bob you need to go the DC GG this year! Get a move on and plan the weekend and book a site!
  8. I can't imagine having drinks before going. I would not have done as well as you did. We thought we would start at the American Pavilion and work our way back to the front of the park. That might help us as we will be full by the time we get back to Future World. What I enjoy about it is you didn't have to be at rope drop to enjoy it. You could drink and eat till you are full then head back to the Fort to rest at the site or pool. After resting head back to the park in the evening for music and more food and drink. We then enjoyed looping around the campground. October is a great time be
  9. That must have been some big rig to cause that much damage.
  10. We are heading down for this festival. It is an absolute awesome adult playground. Fortunately our kids are old enough to leave behind. Therefore we don't need all the other attractions. As much food and drink as anyone would ever need. Good music, good weather and a relaxing campsite to enjoy. A great vacation in my opinion. Expensive for sure but worth it to us.
  11. Looks like a lot of fun to me. I would pay for it if I were there this summer. The park would have to be cooler at night that time of year.
  12. Thanks to both of you for keeping us posted on the changes. I am so captivated by this change. Not sure why. I think it is because for the first time my wife and I got a cart for trip last fall. We usually biked, walked or bused the Fort. We enjoyed the looping experience so much we bought our own cart. We are headed back next fall and I am hoping to be able to enjoy the Fort just as much. I hope the information keeps flowing at the progress changes. Did anyone see what the new beach was looking like?
  13. Love that kind of park and trip for camping! Thanks for sharing.
  14. First stop looks like a neat place. Looking forward to seeing more.
  15. Glad you are getting to enjoy the trip! Grab another post for me if you can....😁
  16. Well at least it looks like they will open a beach while they are messing up Clementine's Beach.
  17. We liked 1400 but you may want Little Bear loop to avoid the canals. Probably quieter at campfire time too.
  18. Based on TCDs thoughts I think the area behind the store and 100 loop out to the lake on the right side of the dock will be developed for Fort use. anxious to hear what else you observe this visit.
  19. I contacted Guest Services per the information and here is what I got back. More money to the mouse...by choice of course. Hope this helps anyone else thinking about getting one. _____________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ Thank you for being a valued Guest and a sponsor of “Disney’s Walk Around the World” brick program. 20. I would suggest immediately after Memorial Day. We have done the first week in June and the crowds weren't as bad because most of the Memorial Day crowd had left. We have always camped in the summer at the Fort and is just hot and humid the further you go in the summer.
  21. As much as I hate to pay for it, I will be excited to have one here at home in the yard. I suspect when we go in October we will be able to get one last picture with ours because I doubt it will be torn up by then because of where it is located.
  22. We have in the past bought annual passes. We went late one summer for 9 days, then went at Thanksgiving for 9 days, Spring Break for 9 days, and the next summer early in the summer for 2 weeks. This spread my wife's and I vacation time out over two years and the kids time was already off from school. By taking advantage of the AP as gifts for the kids and eating at the site a lot, we were able to keep our costs down. We also had a pop up and the site rate in 2011 and 2012 was around or under $50 a night. Now that we have a MH the costs to stay are much worse. We could however probably
  23. Given the many times I heard that song I would probably have read it that way too.
  24. Well we are one of the people that own a brick on the walk. It is in front of the TTC on the way to the Polynesian. It is very close to shade structure where used to have automated ticket machines. We have a commemorative clear plastic "trophy" style replica of the brick that came with our purchase. I will probably order one and pay the extra shipping cost because I won't get to Disney until October this year. We got ours in 1998 on my wife and I's first trip together to Disney. We were told at the time of purchase that Disney reserved the right to remove them at anytime without refund
