Great update, Dave. Glad you survived the downhill side without having to use the runaway truck ramp. I've seen trucks in those in the Rockies and believe there is not enough of Pam's wine to calm me down from that.
Everybody has to stop at at least one Cracker barrel, I think there is a rule about it.
We stop at Harvest Moon we call it (Heavenly Rest) on our way home from the Fort every time. The goal is always to just get through Atlanta in one piece.

I have only done the dining plan when it was free. Not that it is ever really free. I wouldn't do it again. We did eat at a lot of places we wouldn't have payed oop, but I hated being a slave to ADR's. I also felt like I spent my whole vacation eating.

"Please note that the Trick or Treating at Fort Wilderness is intended for the GUESTS OF THE RESORT ONLY, and is not actually open to the public. There have been major problems in the recent years with hoards of people not staying at the resort coming in for the holiday – including golf cart accidents with injuries and general mayhem.
Fort management has said repeatedly that they will be strongly cracking down on the general public and any other non-FW guests trying to come into the resort this Halloween.
Campers during this time actually pay higher rates because of how popular this holiday has become and do not appreciate it when their vacations are invaded by people looking for a quick and easy candy haul for their kids."

I believe you may be misrepresenting what trick or treating at the Fort is all about. This is intended for the families who have paid to enjoy the Fort and all it's amenities . The candy being passed out is also provided by the campers. This is not a Disney sponsored event.
Please go and have fun at the Backyard Barbecue, but remember that the Trick or Treating is not part of your experience.

For all of you who are wondering about Steve Senesi, yes he DID work for Custom Carriages, Inc. dba Golf & Electric Vehicles , Orlando, FLorida you can look us up on the internet. The company has always rented to the guest at Fort Wilderness and unfortunately it looks like a lot of you had Steve "Personal" phone number and email address and not the business phone number so now you are calling him directly instead of doing business with our company who you originally worked with and probably placed your order with, especially if you called him before August 24, 2011. Please give us a call to compare rates (please pm me for phone number), we would LOVE to keep your business we are not sure why Steve is now taking our clients. Just so you know Cinderella73, if you would have rented from our company for a month the rate would have been $400 with $50 delivery and $29.25 tax for a total of $479.25. Remember the benefits of renting from a company are much greater than a person. PLEASE call us if you have any concerns we would really appreicated your calls and concerns, word of mouth means a great deal and all we are trying to do is protect the well being of our clients.
