  1. People that ran ToT this year have been getting eMails from runDisney confirming that there will be no ToT next year and suggesting alternative runDisney runs to enter. I've seen that on a couple of different running boards. It could still be BS, but ...
  2. Wine & Dine and the Marathon both go through DHS - but only a small corner of it. The rumored construction isn't in that area.
  3. The rumor may be just that; my logic is still a logical refutation of your illogical questioning; my memory is fine, speak for yourself on that point. Better a knucklehead than a schmuckface.
  4. The one on the dock is a Wood Stork The other one is a Barred Owl - and it looks like it has a squirrel.
  5. The current course (http://as1.wdpromedia.com/media/rundisney/pdf/tower-of-terror/2014/TOT14_Map.pdf) runs through almost every part of DHS, so if one section was closed for construction, it would create BIG problems having to change the course. You have to have every run Certified as to distance, etc., and insurance comes into play, .... Just too many headaches for a one year change.
  6. I bet you could make a brand new one that actually worked for less than $100.
  7. I blame Dave for not rescuing Melvin when he had the chance. Now Melvin is going to be forced into servitude stuck on the wall of some Disneyholic.
  8. I'm helping with the beer right now. Drinking a Fat Head's Spooky Tooth Imperial Pumpkin Ale.
  9. If you are flying with me, maybe they could strap them into my wheelchair (or handcycle) to make travel in the baggage hold a little more comfortable for them.
  10. I know Disney does well accommodating guests - what's their hiring like? Are there many positions you can work at in a wheelchair? The last question is becoming a big concern for me.
  11. Stuff them in the overhead luggage area and pack in the pillows to deaden the sounds.
  12. I have started booking my reservations ahead of time for runs I plan to make .... before I can even register for the run.
  13. I'm not looking for accommodation. Under the current program, mobility issues are not covered - they tell you to rent a wheelchair or scooter if you don't have one already. Theoretically, that will accommodate any mobility issues. Almost all my issues involve mobility, so ... I belong to several forums dealing with all forms of disability, and some members have had problems with the new system. They have children on all parts of the autism spectrum. Some of them would be totally unable to use a system involving long lines or crowded waits. Some would require several rides in a row to avoid a m
  14. I can only see the downside of trying this while still having to accommodate the GAC. The GAC essentially is a FP+ without getting a FP+. Having to get an actual FP+ would defeat some of the accommodation allowed for with a GAC. I foresee a lot of headaches in the future. CMs are still getting a feel for the GAC (and still getting it wrong, occasionally). This will just make it worse ... and, yes, I bet it will bring out more complaints and eventually a lawsuit. Disney is one of the better companies for accommodation ... but I see this as a step in the wrong direction.
  15. My perception ... a job at Disney is a lot like being in the military. One way to do things; a lot of rules and regulations; sometimes it's good ... and other times it can really suck. With that being said, I would only want to work at Disney in narrowly defined roles. Most of those roles don't exist. Wildlife Control Officer at the Fort is one I could enjoy. Identity (and teach) about wildlife that shows up at sites. Have a number for campers to call. I show up, capture if necessary, give a little lesson - especially for kids, relocate animals as required. I am an IWRC certified Wildlife Reha
