We were in the 900 loop for Halloween this year.  During the day, we had an opportunity to talk with a CM who identified herself as being in charge of "traffic flow" that day and evening.  She told us that this year, because of the problems identified in the past, if you did not camp at the Fort or could prove that you had reservations at the Hoopie, Mickey's BYB, or Trail's End, you would NOT be permitted to enter the grounds.  She noted that there would be security at all entrances to the Fort, including the boat dock, and Disney Security would be backed up by the Orange County Sheriff.  We did not see the numbers of kids we thought we would see, based on the stories of past years.  After, TOT. we walked over to 1600 - 1700 loops to see some of the sites, and indeed, the Orange Co. Sheriff was there helping move traffic from out of the quad loops to the main road.  Hopefully, the idea of keeping "outsiders" out of the Fort this night will continue in the future. 

Trick or Treating was fun, but calm this year! Lots of kids in the 1700 loop, but very good kids and families, really respectful and not crazy!! We had a blast!!

That's part of the problem. Any CM encouraging freeloading should be reprimanded and if it happens again fired. I have no issue if they wish to use the Fort in their off hours with their family and friends but helping to organize large groups to take over the resort from paying guests is going too far.

Ok. I'm still not sure what I'll win though. Since this is FWG's thread, I admit to being a bit nervous about the prize.

I am planning a trip to assess the damage Irma did to the 3000 loop.  Beer lines are already scheduled for replacement, so mainly I will be focusing on the massage parlor.  I can't hook up the Outback, however, until I hit at least 650 likes.  So it's all up to you! 

I finally heard from my older sister.  She made it out of Port St. Lucie and up to some family we have in NYC.  And now the great news. Friday her doctor called her and told her that she doesn't have breast cancer as they first thought.  Tests were negative.

I'm not really going to get into this post and start to rant and rave like I usually do. Whether the Governor is an idiot or not, we all need to pray.  This a monster record breaking storm. We will lose many lives and there will be catastrophic damage somewhere in Florida.  I have been through many hurricanes and I don't usually freak out, but this has me nervous. Many Floridians have put there guards down since we had so many quiet years. If you can leave and have no job commitments here, go.  Get out of this path. For those of us who need to be here to take care of those who can't take care of themselves, pray for us. Be safe and Godspeed 

I'm happy about the new attraction. Love Mickey Mouse, he needs to be around more...... but!! they are using the new awful styling on Mickey instead of the classic styling. Hate that part!!

Glad to be here! It's weird, I've done a zillion searches for things FW and WDW and searching for Warren's info is the first hit I've gotten on FF. After reading folks' tags I'm thinking FF and I are on the same wavelength.

The tent we brought to WWW in February had that door - love it!
Stalked Amazon way too much today and picked up a few great deals, including pendant lights that will be perfect for the kitchen remodel we're in the middle of.
Better yet, I solved our food dilemma for our November trip by snagging a deal on a 3.5 cu ft freezer that will *just* fit in the back seat of the truck.  :)

It is indeed an honor to know that I have contributed to the intoxication of the TCD family.  I'm getting all misty.

I have a very simple solution. You just bring me along. When you need groceries, you give me the keys to your truck, a list of what you need me to purchase, and your credit card. I will go shopping for you.

You could always use FWG's crockpot scavenging method. What's that site with the grill right near the sidewalk? Just, casually stroll by there around meal times.
