  1. Disney has an interesting vertical stack play. Extensive movie library, live sports and network TV. They are well positioned to attack this media approach. However I, like some of you, question the plausibility of the delivery model. More importantly, I question the timing. Bob I leaves payroll in 2019. This boondoggle, and promise of future profits, might be enough to distract and keep his legacy sparkling.
  2. We are essentially empty nesters and love DCL. We also loved it with kids. The price,..... yep that's an entirely different discussion.
  3. That dented tailgate is sickening. Probably happens more than we know
  4. Fair enough. It falls to management to be able to provide ROI while not eroding the demand side of the equation. I hope they get the right people making decisions.
  5. I worked for at&t back when they were the sponsor. Having meetings in those conference rooms was a fantastic perk. We would take a break, grab a complimentary drink, then front of line spaceship earth(Walter Cronkite version). A great memory.
  6. It's easy to fault disney and other companies for these perceived bad practices. Heck there's an entire multi-billion $ social networking company built on it. However, a root cause analysis tells us that's its not the company. As publicly traded companies, they exist solely for the benefit of the shareholders / bond holders. What do those peo0le expect? Yep, a solid return on their investment. How does that happen? Yep, ever increasing profitability. Who are "those people"? Anyone who owns stock, mutual funds, 401k, retiree benefits like pensions that invest in the market, etc. Nope, it'
  7. Makes perfect sense. Spend ~$100 day to either hide a rock or Hunt for a rock. Yet another activity sending the US rocketing to the bottom of the academic pyramid. Keiths comment about a pet service rock made me laugh out loud. Spot on!
  8. Appreciate this analysis. A possuble confluence of events has me considering this exact scenario.
  9. These scum bags have existed through the ages. Unfortunately, with 24 hour news, we get to hear about all of them now.
  10. Not having to stop and pay a toll when hauling a family and 30 feet of trailer after 15 hours on the road.......priceless.
  11. You have some MAD skills. Nicely done
  12. I think it's a confluence ofor events. Studios are on autopilot with star wars, guardians, super hero movies everywhere. Practically print8ng money. ABC property is having a tough time dealing with ESPN weakness. Plus they canceled the Tim Allen sitcom. Idiots. So that leaves the parks / resorts to apply utilize capital for improvements. Margins have improved to the point that it makes it an attractive roi.
  13. About a month ago, we did the whiskey, tequila, and chocolate/ liquer. Fortunately, someone gave me the tip to do that first on embarkation. I was 2nd in line, but 10 minuses later, the line was out the door. (Fantasy)
  14. Same here Dave. One of my local drive is a 256GB thumb drive that I keep in the safe. Most of my stuff is replaceable except the people and photos/video. I love Google photos, but I feel like there's a bill that has to eventually come due. I know it's supported by ad revenue, but it's too good to be free to me... Photo bucket thing is a bummer to me, but I can't imagine losing the trip reports that Fiends has posted. They all put in an incredible amount of work, that I still go back and peruse from time to time. Just sad.
  15. I think getting a cart is best. I think riding a bike is best. Doesn't matter, as long as I'm doing it at the Fort.
  16. I need a nap after just looking at the pic.
  17. #savethewenches I just wanted to type that. I'm pro wenches, but live in a non wench Era. Quite the dichotomy
