  1. I'm glad to hear you enjoyed your cruise. I think I would feel the same way as you did if I had cruised DCL already. I have only been on RCCL so am okay cruising them again next year. But I can't deny that part of me really, really wants to cruise Disney. I just wish their darn prices weren't so high. I think our opportunity may have been when the kids were small, having teenagers is just so expensive (I know I'm not telling you anything you don't already know). Looking forward to the next part of your adventure. We stayed at the Yacht Club a few months ago (I won the trip and that was
  2. You have completely squashed any desire I may have had to see Ernest Hemingway's house, and for that I thank you. I would have been sorely disappointed to find its a boring, hot, smelly house. Your Smithsonian comment made me smile. When we took our girls there a few years ago all they wanted to know about each museum was whether or not it had a gift shop. I guess they're more the shopping type, not the museum type.
  3. Love the picture of Anna, such a precious little face. Hate the towel moms.
  4. Sounds like its time for a new RV! But seriously, sorry for your troubles but hope you are able to look back on the fun parts of your trip and smile :)
  5. Awesome pictures and awesome payback to the stupid drunk idiots.
  6. I was starting to get a little nervous with your review so far as well. But then it hit me, you're comparing it to your disney cruise. Disney is exceptional, no doubt about it. It reminds me of the time we took our girls to Hershey Park. They were used to our Disney trips, staying in DVC villas. We entered our hotel room (just a small, local hotel, clean, perfectly fine), and one of them said "What IS this place??" (Not in a good way). Bottom line, Disney spoils us!
  7. Your MIL is quick! Yes, not really the picture you want your Mother-in-law looking at over your shoulder. So looking forward to this TR, we booked a cruise after Kelly's report, hope you don't make me regret my decision! Oh, and love that picture of Anna, she is adorable. I am currently reading a trip report over on mouseowners written by a dad with a little girl with Down Syndrome. Every picture makes me smile, she has such an enthusiasm for everything, it's contagious.
  8. That is so funny. I just read that to my daughters and they were like 'noooo!' They have been begging me to try to get tickets to a New York taping of his show for us. Did you see the clip from last night, I think, where he rides the roller coaster with Kevin Hart? That would totally be me on that coaster.
  9. Happy Anniversary! Looking forward to hearing her reaction to her surprise (I know I would be thrilled)!!
  10. How interesting. And the west coast of Mexico really looks lovely, thanks for sharing your pictures.
  11. I don't think I commented at all but I enjoyed tagging along on your trip to the beach. It went by fast, which I'm sure you'll be the first to agree with!
  12. I enjoyed the update. I am torn on Elsa's gender. It could be a man but I'm not sure a man could survive walking the park for 24 hours in those shoes.
  13. Thanks for the link, it was fun to watch. That face on the moon always freaked me out a little bit.
  14. Thanks for the Polynesian pics. That looks like a really extensive rehab project. We have the opportunity for a quick trip this fall and I would really love to stay at the Polynesian but with so many walls up I think it might make for a less than magical stay. Will need to work on a plan B.
  15. Those Ireland pictures are just gorgeous! Glad to see she is getting to experience so many wonderful places. As an aside, my cousin proposed to his wife up at the top of that huge wheel in London.
  16. What a great trip you were able to take. Looking forward to reading more!
  17. Funny you mention that because I asked my TA about the Allure. She inquired and said they would give us the onboard credit but would not price guarantee for us, and added that RCCL was not very nice about it. Hearing that, I didn't want to pay the increase. With this cruise I am saving 40% over the original cruise, plus over $400 in onboard credit (we have two rooms). We've been on the Navigator which is the sister ship to the Explorer, so we know we will like it. We were just hoping for something a little different. But glad to hear you met people who were having a good time!
  18. I figured I would come back and let you guys know what they offered in return. They offered five alternative sailing dates on the Freedom, with $200 onboard credit per cabin and $150 pp airline change fees. Unfortunately for us, none of the dates worked for us as my oldest is starting college and we planned the trip during her winter break. I think we're going to end up on the Explorer of the Seas (no flow rider, boo!, but it does have the rock climbing wall which the kids want to do), original sailing date, but only 5 nights, and still getting the onboard credit. At least we will save so
  19. I think that's exciting news for Twin #2! Does the internship last the entire summer? If so, it looks like we'll have a lot of reading material in the coming months.
  20. It was probably cheaper to send her to Europe. Very cute pictures of the twins!
  21. Thanks for the pictures! I'm guessing if you have a fastpass for it you'll bypass the interactive queue?
  22. Well I was just on cruise critic for my daily dose of excitement for our trip and I saw that all of the Freedom cruises for January have been cancelled! The amazing thing is that when we cruised a few years ago this happened, we're two for two on cancelled cruises (are they trying to tell us something?). They did give us onboard credit and a price guarantee on another cruise so we'll see what they offer this time. But it just stinks because I had already gotten our airfare and booked VWL for a couple of nights. If there's any silver lining I did call my husband at work and he said to chec
  23. I'm sure she noticed that purely for research purposes.
  24. All I can picture with those macaws flying over people's heads is the pooping factor. I don't think that would make for a very magical experience. That actually reminds me of a funny story I will share because it's Disney related. When my older two girls were little we went for their first ride on Thunder Mountain. My oldest made the height requirement but the next one just missed it. Well she pitched a royal fit. I took her over to the exit of the ride so we could look for the others riding and she continued to pitch her little temper tantrum. It was horrible. All of a sudden she st
